Truth. I will also add that not every song needs a guitar solo. I know it's something that works for some songs, but for others, it's not necessary. I never missed it once in this song in almost 40 years, but somehow knew that it was going to get dinged because it didn't have one. It should NOT be a criteria for a good song.

@@TheMirolab It's all good. I just hadn't heard this song in a long while and I was kind of blown away by how eighties it was. That's the thing about it, the eighties had a very distinctive style, and the more distinctive it is the more it's a love-it-or-leave-it situation. For me, it got bad in the second half of the decade. I lost interest in top forty at that point and started listening to classic rock.

I think that Billy Idol’s look might be reminding Andy of a character from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series, Spike, who has almost the exact same look.

Interesting fact. Spike on Buffy the vampire slayers character was based off of Billy Idol. The joke in the show was with Spike being such an old vampire he said that Billy Idol stole his look. Anyway just some small tidbit to add some interest. Love this song my husband and I danced down the isle to this song. I think you would really like "Rebel Yell". Honestly he has several great songs. As always guys fantastic reaction. Have a great weekend.

I am so proud of you boys for finally getting around to some of the "Best of the 80's" and Billy played a B-I-G part in that first half of the decade.
Andy... the song is GREAT because it DOESN'T have a guitar solo. Every song in the 80's had a guitar solo as back then every guitarist wanted to prove he was as good as Eddie Van Halen... all tired, all failed.
It felt like you two have been lost in your own sauce lately but Billy Idol's 'White Wedding' definitely was a jailbreak. This was absolutely one of the best songs coming out of the 80's and still stands the test of time. Listening to it today, it's just as good as when it originally came out.

Rebel Yell has a laser gun held to the strings during the solo... he has the gun in his hand playing live. Maybe the original recording was some modulator turned way up but it's a ray gun now. Check it out! The one negative hear is the dance drumbeat in the breakdown... very 80s.

Sooooo 80s. I feel that this song is best viewed with the music video. There is so much visual content to support the song, not least of is Billy Idol himself raising his trademark fist in the air while sneering. Also, once you see the video, there's a spoof video with alternate lyrics that's hilarious.

Well this made me cry. When we had our band in Austin in the 80s, we covered this song. My job was to sing this lead and play the drums at the same time. I could imitate his voice, and copy the drums note for note. Keep those quarter notes pounding on the bass drum and watch the dance floor fill up. Now, no one remembers, and no one really cares … I’m just some old man. The more you have given to you, the more you can lose … experiences I mean, not the ability… I could still do this, but it’s like “so what?” That’s why it made me cry. Glad you guys liked it, glad you used the original studio version, and glad you posted this. Thank you.

He was an important figure in British punk's earliest days, so he's come a long way. I saw Billy in Vegas a few years ago, and it was damn fine rock show. The man is a pro. He owned that crowd, especially the middle-age women. Everybody left the concert feeling satisfied. Well done, Billy.

Steve Steven isn't who you'd first think of when you're told to list the greatest guitar-heros... but his ability can't be overrated. Ice cold gripping rythms, technical solos when needed, and lots of crazy 80s foolery, always with taste and musicality.
