I miss this shit so bad it hurts
You really miss this?
Say this on 2021...
@@TatarProductions dang
it's back.
@Jonathan Walensi Will be a shitshow on pvp realms. Fuck it.
@@xMorbidArtx Go on PVE realm mate, don't f*** yourself, be a real man
this was the height of the mmo industry right here
nah, Wotlk was next level tbh...
@@patrickstarshooter5221 yup, statistics prove that Wotlk was the peak
science and logic also say that wow vanilla was the best period
@@kebabfoto lol what, haha we can all agree though that WoW WAS best from vanilla tbc wotlk, everything after that was shit and not true wow, even thou there was some good shit in some expansions like mage tower, suramar, wod music and zones etc... True wow will always be Vanila-tbc-wotlk
Even the alternatives to WoW at the time were decent games or at their height. RuneScape, Guild Wars, LOTRO, SWG, etc.
That sense of community, the dancing, the smiles, I love it
Just don't get that anymore :( Wish I could have been old enough to have experienced this, the atmosphere looks awesome!
Most of them left long ago. I loved the community in vanilla and TBC. Sadly I don't think Blizzard will ever be able to recreate that.
To be honest, I do that too, randomly wave or say hi, because why not? :3 Or nuke a few beasties when I see someone having trouble ^_^
BE THAT PERSON!
We can still have this community today, it's as easy as just extending a hello or even a wave/greet emote while out in the world.
Small interactions build up over time, and if everyone's doing these small interactions everyone would feel much more comfortable being more social. At the moment we're all either self absorbed in what we're trying to accomplish for the day or worried about what interactions we MAY have if we put ourselves out there so nothing ever happens.
3:36 What a priceless comment.
This is great. I was in Great Falls Montana when TBC came out. Stationed at Malmstrom AFB. I lost my debit card a few days before the launch and was awaiting my bank to send me a new one. So that night I decided to clean out my computer desk since I had some free time. To my surprise I found a $40 gift card for Gamestop! I yelled "FUCK YEA!!!" in my dorm room like a total nerd. It was a X-mas gift I got back from 2005 just in the back of my drawer. Still in the Christmas card. I jumped in my truck the next morning @ 9am and waited for the doors to open. Bought TBC and played for the next 16 hours. Oh memories.
Good story, friend.
Thats awesome my dude
That gift card was a gift from god
thank you for the story :) that is so cool that you found the gift card and got to buy it heheh :) Wish you all the best :)
Haha the memories!
its sad that this will never happen again... i maen how many people even buy hard copies of wow now?
you do know 1 some people still have the vanilla Cd's .... (me) plus the game will come out on the ingame store like every other xpac :| and vanilla is getting alot of hype
Still buy hard copies of the expansions in collectors edition format, pre-order from GAME then pick up 1 day past launch, but recently buy a digital copy too so can play when it goes live.
I still get collectors editions but recently with legion launch i had to wait till the following morning for the gamestop open so i might to check out my options for next expansion to make sure i can play at launch
I still have my hard copies, cant wait for vanilla re-release im hyped
i only buy the hard copies of WoW xD i just cant bring myself to buy the digital
And people say that video games are bad for you. Look at how much fun they are having and it brings people together. I can imagine the feeling that these people had when they first logged into BTC. God damn, i love it!
They can be bad for you, its about the time you spend playing. Anything in excess can be bad. It even says that when you enter Wow as a reminder
Back when ganking was socially acceptable
Looking forward to be ganking them nasty hordes ones again, I wont lie :)
I'll be seeing you in stranglethorn vale, alliance.
These days were the golden days of world of warcraft , I'm very happy that i was a part of this community back then , Eventho i lived in syria and my age was too young , but i'm still proud , I'm very happy that i watched this video fully , People back then were very proud , and every aspect of the game was running through their veins and souls , Today , Everything changed , No more launch days , everything is running through the internet like the internet is running us , no more smiles , no more dancing contests , if you want a physical copy , You just order one online while sitting alone in your room or behind your desk somewhere or even on phone , You don't need to sleep in the street anymore for 2 days to be one from early people to get a copy , i watched this video while hugging my burning crusade disk , the only disk i got to get back then here in Syria , Today Retail feels dead every time i log in there , Gold sellers and boosters are at every corner , trade chat is dead , no world chat , you don't even need to say something because you only have to link your achievements and your high ilvl beside your proving grounds medal , everything has changed , the only pain i had watching the video is my soul getting hurt , I watched the video knowing that almost everyone inside it stopped playing , some of them living a whole new life , Some are in the millitary , Maybe some are homeless or even Dead.
This is part of why I'm saddened by the move to a digital marketplace for most games. CD's and DVD's are the things of collector's editions now, not the norm... So it also means that gamers, who used to have that 'I will meet you at the store on launch night' social event now no longer have it. A true tragedy.
Technology and social media destroyed sociality , isn’t it ironic and sad 😢
"You guys take care of us". Yep, yep, yep...
2020 im still laughing at this comment every now and then
6:19 my personal hero. Brought his laptop to insta install it and be ahead for a couple of minutes... legendary good times! :D
Huge minmaxer
But .. but .. you needed internet connection to install the cds didn’t you ?
@@Hedgeknight420 Prob 3g network
@@Hedgeknight420 Nope. You installed via cd. Maybe there was an update but i cant remember. So you still were slightly ahead :)
Yes a moving laptop with a cd rom is a real smart move :D
I almost teared up at 7:00 where the guy said "you take care of us". Blizzard/wow could have been sooo much more than what it is now. I am glad we have classic/classic era vanilla, that is the only version of wow for me.
classic wow was a complete disaster. anyone who played vanilla knows this. they couldn't even get basic things correct. blizzard died a long, long time ago
This is the coolest thing ever. I appreciate the simplicity of the digital era where you can get any game onto your pc without leave the comforts of your home, but i would really much like to experience something like this :).
So much nostalgia... Good times, wish we could go back in time and re-experience it... Now with the adult life, shits so stressful, marriage, etc.. Granted I'm not as old as many of the older players. But these were good times. Specially with your paps or mom, then Blizzcon, etc... Never had so much happiness in my life, even if it was in a mechanic shop or a store playing in the backroom while your parent(s) worked while they let you play and have fun. I hope everyone here watching this is doing good now and having a amazing life or doing whatever they can to improve anything and everything...
Unfortunately no amazing life for me. Life feels so much different now. So much worse. This lovely connection between people and sense of community just disappeared. Overall our world is much darker place than before. Im watching this with tears in my eyes. Those were the days man.
@Xeshiraz just play classic and immerse yourself in what was until the good times roll back around. It's a lil different but 95% the same and still $15 per month. I'm going to play it until reality gets back to normal.
Take me back to January 16th 2007 PLEASE IF I HAD A TIME MACHINE
We Are Prepared Again !!!
“They really take care of us.”
Not anymore 🥺 that’s for damn sure lol
no king rules forever, my son
if there is no hope in your comment 2 years ago, NOW.
Imagine with Microsoft under the command until this date, with SO sooooo bad future expectation.
its so sad knowing that we will never go back and we can never replace this and never experience anything like this again no matter what game comes out. ITs just over. Memories and remnants of a better time all around. ITs much deeper than just a game. ITs the awful change in society and the awful change in generations mentalities and personalities
Bad take. It's the rise of technology. It has nothing to do with Society. We've made things easier for people as Technology advances, AKA fast internet, fast downloads, no more discs. Stop blaming "Society". Be happy for the technological advances.
@@Raider19D it has EVERYHTING to do with society. Society is worse off in so many ways yet technology is far better. Yet peopel are more miserable today than ever before. this is statistical and proven.
@@CousinMarvinit has nothing to do with society
@@CousinMarvin It's modernism and consumerism and social media. We've become more isolated and digitalized, with a significant jump since covid.
We are in part victims of the ideas of dead philosophers from 100-200+ years ago and people don't know how much they speak their words without knowing it. The BC expansion era was that transitional period before social media took the scene and before phones became more advanced.
Every generation feels this with something to some degree.
14years later and i can still smell it, sniffing at my monitor.
Not only will I never again stand outside of a gaming shop with like minded enthusiasts and just be present in life, I’m never going to see anything as epic as watching that portal open as just one single adventurer among what felt like a horde of others and rushing through in real time. Genuinely thrilled at what awaits. Great times in gaming. The best likely.
People still watch this so there's hope guys :D
3 months to go!!!
i worked at best buy geek squad in Wilmington, nc shit was crazy. of course all us hid away copies for ourselves
Back when people went to stores to buy games....this makes me sad that this whole type of experience is gone besides paying a massive amount of money for conventions.
now it's just download off steam, epic, :(
@@_atinsy convenience always wins.. remember lans? Split screen.. :'(
Literally the best time i've had in my life.
You are leaving a comment here every year.
@@k3rim0glu I find myself watching this video a few times a year, love it. :)
Gone are the days games had to be completed and in a final state before shipping.
playing in 2007 was another feeling. what happend =/
1:00 best for the Horde yell ever
Yet he plays a human irl
Why am I crying watching this O.o
Especially when the crowds are cheering and stuff
Because this is from an old age. The society now couldn't do it again. We are screwed.
This was Blizzard, pre-merger with Activision.
Look how dedicated and grateful the WoW fans were. Blizzard fucked it all up.
Back when WoW was exciting LOL
The good times. Hardcopy games, one MMORPG to rule them all, every gamer was playing the same thing and no virus around. I share the the opinion: something like this will pretty much never happen again :(
I was stuck on CS while most of my clan moved to WoW. Im glad I finally gave in and tried it when learning lots of my classmates were playing it lol
best expansion they ever did thats when i started playing... great memories
Midnight store launches were a real phenomenon for its time, I went for Halo 3, GTA 4 and WoW WotLK, after that the midnight launches died down because you can just get the game digitally.
last big midnight launch I remember was GTA V, the last one I went to was Arkham Origins lol I was like the only guy there
Why does this feels like its 1998? I swear.. I mean 2006 wasn't that long ago but the way thair hair/cloths styles looks really really old..
Time is pretty sneaky 🤣
Since then, nothing has seen the hype like this. :(
that undead dance @4:20 made my day 🤣
That's so crazy to see how hyped wow was. I mean, there are so many people waiting 3 days just to get a copy of wow. Nowadays you buy it online but in the past it was completely different and I want to have something like that again. just meet people in rl who play the same game and like me. I have never experienced this time because I am from the year 2007 but it is just nice to see something like that
I really want to go back to Either vanilla or TBC :(
Tony Reilly good news everyone!
i fixed the poison slime pipes
I"m currently leveling a hunter on a Vanilla server, I thought I did, now I'm not sure that I do.
Tony Reilly Welcome back.
Guys this is a 6 year old comment, the guy could be dead.
those colllectors editions..... before pre-ordering and digital downloads, we queued.... we waited... we met new people and we loved it. Technology itself is more social, but we as people are secondary.... our phones are always online, but we're not connected the way we used to be.
I felt so emotional while watching this... damm, so good memories from my childhood, with my friends... 😢❤
10 years later still in my recomended tab thats why i love youtube
These collector's editions are around 200 dollars on ebay.
It's been 17 years. Oh Lord.
O__O time only goes faster
Greetings from 2021, DONT COME, STAY ON YOUR YEARS
Greetings from 2024... Holy F*** it's hell. Get me a motherf***ing time machine.
This video made me oddly emotional, those were different times for sure.
i can remeber standing in line at gamestop for my wow burning crusade it was a lot of fun
This was peak humanity idc
Take me back, Now we all just sit inside our house alone waiting for the client to update, We need this kind of thing back man ):
I love how all of these people that you'd never expect to be such nerds were so excited and dancing it was awesome
we back boys
I still believe digital games ruined events like this.
I just want to go back. That's all i want. 😢😢
Just think back it's been 14 years sense TBC came out now here we getting ready to dive back into it with classic TBC and everyone getting ready for it
When you come back to see what I wish I launch day for classic tbc is like
When gaming was still good this brings tears of joy in my eyes
miss these days
10 Years before. Where has time gone. :-)
You :-) but on the inside your comment made me :-(
Well, but all over all it as a great time over the Years. Meeting so much nice People and having fun, no matter how good or bad the Content was/is. :-)
@@LysThePenguin 6 years before. Where has time gone :-)
Sad I was a child back then. I wouldve been there, if I was old enough xD Got it from my parents 1 day after though xd
We coming back to this moment once again :D
This is when I first started WoW...didn't have chance to play Vanilla back then but I got the game like 2 days after release.
u started 2 days after the release of TBC?
lol my experience of getting BC was very anticlimactic...i never reserved a copy or went to a party and just woke up around 7 am the next morning and bought a copy at target
Here in the UK my brother woke me up waving my copy of it in my face the morning before it was released because it had arrived early so I had it all installed and ready for midnight :)
Watching this in 2019 and then the announcement of their mobile gaming. I lived glorious times and I can now close my eyes peacefully.
Miss those fucking great times and I miss you Reckful R.I.P. BLIZZ please make BC Servers.
I am 20 years old today so at the time I was very young, I am a little sad not to have been able to have lived this
I am 21 and feel also very sad about this
This was incredible. I'm 31 and no era of gaming has come close to this.
this is one of the best ever happen in my life!
This community was the best ever.. I would like to see that these days.. It hurts deeply..
Life be like that
THE BOOSTING CRUSADE
Watching this during pandemic hurts so much... :'(
Time left in queue: "You are not prepared!"
this was recommended to me in 2024. I still remember the day my sister for my birthday bought me the game, I was 7. to this day I'm so glad she picked this game out of all of them, because she could had picked any other game. so many stories, memories, and fun. nostalgia hits hard 😭
This is gold
Thank you
Life is so much worse now compared to the good old days.
I showed up 20 mins after they opened and picked up my preorder with no line up. I remember it was cold and was like not worth... Kind of wish I did so when WotLK came out I was out there waiting with friends and talking to people I didn't know. Was the best midnight release I ever went to.
best expansion imo
Not an opinion. Just a fact.
Will share this whit a player that started later. Good old times!
I love my community I'm 17 & been playing since Burning Crusade
I cried when i saw chris metzen giving autographs..
People were awesome back then.
the music sent chills up my spine
The amount of people that didn’t sleep that night was unbelievable lmao
i was hoping they did the gnomeregan gnews thing in Legion. I really miss that. I didn't play TBC for that long because I was only young and started playing the game near Wrath's release date, but I do remember watching old WoW videos and I miss when they did these little things. its too bad they don't do this stuff anymore. :/
also its nice seeing these people having fun. they really are enjoying themselves here! :)
There just won’t be midnight launch parties for games or consoles anymore like there were in the 2000’s. I was in line for Halo 2 and collected like 15 gamer tags during the wait. Hell, I remember launch parties for Windows 95. Even back then that seemed a bit too geeky for me.
WE GOING BACK TO THAT! 2021!
Blizzard, before all the key staff left.
Still here. WoW Still the strongest MMO.
memories from a more promising time
i buyed TBC at Midnight sale to, its soooo long ago, i miss that time
i remember getting my copy at a midnight release got home and the disk wouldn't install lol
13 years...... Good old days.....
The best days of my childhood
ITS COMING BACK BABY
Me and my friends were in line 5 hours early for this. Paid off as I became the 1st 70 in my server :D it will never be the same, RIP WoW
Nah dude, not RIP WoW, classic servers are going to revive it big time.
even with classics, it wont have the difficulty it once had. aka: weekly bugs, op green items, broken queue times, and the best of all, is the experience to know that there are no online sites telling you how to do things, it's only through experience and in game messages where you learn stuff, those were priceless. But classic WoW should still be fun
Hiro Kai shadowlands is looking good so far

Golden era of gaming, and Blizzard
For many of these men this is there first time leaving home in months lol
Wow. I wish the younger generations could experience this
i miss the physical copy era. its a good thing.
0:37 No están preparados :')
Ahora en Loatheb esperamos con ansias TBC
I had similar experience with Wotlk launch and also when I was getting my first CE at Cata launch. I started playing mid TBC though but was a clueless noob still at that time (not 100% sure but I think it took me ~4 months of play to hit lvl 70 and I played a lot especially on weekends..)
Damn, I miss Fry's so damn much. Better than Microcenter.
