No game has had me tear up before, that changed when I saw the announcement. And after rewatching this 40 times, I still get the same feeling.
I will say I stopped playing WoW after the Wrath really as I didn’t enjoy Cat but this is exciting and I will once again log in. I haven’t logged in accord to my blizzard account since 2011 or something it’s quite crazy. To play that is

I was stuck grinding in that crazy cave in Silverpine for a single darksoul shackle for over half an hour. I thought to myself, "you know they should really increase the drop rate just a little bit."
Then I stopped and said, "NO! That is the first step toward BFA."

I never was a serious WoW player, and I observe it more from the outside, but I did play most recently in Classic and I remember I did what you're talking about. I love Silverpine so much, despite it being a pain in the ass to complete the quests (to me). I looked up what you talked about, and I remembered doing that quest and how Sepulcher quests made me frustrated and how then I saw I need to form parties but couldn't bother, so I left the game once again. lol It seems you can't go after around lvl 15 all alone anymore. Party system makes me feel a bit awkward. hah

Personally, i also love retail. I have invested so much time into retail as well, since vanilla was out back in the day, but it is nice to have the middle ground of classic again. The thrills man. It was great. And i have played every single version of the game so far also.
Retail still has some fun to be had, you just have to work harder to find it. Wrath classic launches in a few days, and dragonflight looks interesting, with the talk of hybridity and new class designs. Hybridity and the over al class designs in general, and the old overworld was gone in retail. You had to give up so much to go forward. So it is nice to go back to the way the game used to be, while still dealing with all the good things retail has brought over the years. I feel it is important to give credit where credit is due.
I never did get to 60 in time in classic, although i am finnaly ready for wrath classic when it launches. Wrath was my favorite version. Not to hardcore, not to softcore. It was just right.

yeah, this one was especially satisfying because J. Allen is the guy who said "you think you do, but you don't" when asked about adding the servers. So when Chromie says "SOMEONE told you you cannot go home" she was referring to the guy announcing the trailer, so satisfying

one step at a time
When classic can barely fill up one server per region they might consider it in a few years and that's okay. Cherish the time when classic is the focus of the community, because the community is what makes WoW great and the more you split it up, the more you dillute that hype and focus on current content.
Still to this day i almost tear up to this! :'D So excited.

I asked for this right after vanilla exspansions - let people decide if they want to keep playing vanilla or go for wortl..but they just answered that their ''vision'' is not to go backwards, now we are here.. so many years later.. and its 2 fucking late. RIP :( good old days raiding onyxia and lvl 70 pvp.. wow ill miss them!

I really hope that the classic community is bigger than the retail one, but you can be sure that most people will check out every update for retail if they are subscribed to play classic.
Nah. Classic has its humble charm and encourages more teamwork while you lvl BUT endgame is dulll. Retail endgame is fast paced and exhilerating. The sky is the limit to difficulty you want between mythic+ and raiding. The new dungeons are brilliant. I can play them over and over with alts! It also has tons of perks with customization. I've played both and even back then I was dreaming of a faster paced MMO that it finally became. A slow MMO like this won't suit today's attention spans but I am just happy we will have both options now.

Yeah it was great. Classic was great although not quite the same experience that it originally was but finally I got to finish my character and defeat KT etc.

I am so happy for classic, I was able to enjoy Raiding each and every week from MC to the end of Naxx before TBC opened (I still play wrath/classic era) but during those days 2 years ago it was an amazing Journey.

When you reach these echelons, there are no "feelings" or "personal opinions" per se. It's all about metrics, and product, and MAUs and DAUs and profit margins and nothing else. Back then he didn't have the resources / metrics / anything to back up a response even remote to "perhaps this was something we could consider in the future". When he got the metrics, he switched his stance.
Remember people, there is a reason managers (in any sense of management. be it corporate or political or what-have-you) only care about graph charts and Excel sheets. These numbers are the ones that dictate how things are run for the rest of us.

@@myemail2418 30 days logged. Level 60 ready for the dark portal to open. The adventure was long and dark but I pushed through. Met many friendly adventurers and fought many Alliance scum. Its been a wild ride that's for sure.

What I actually find funny is that the shutting down of Nost is what sparked so many people going to private servers. Yes, clearly Nost had a huge population but I didn't get into the private server scene until news of its closing and that this was a legit option. Played on another server but most everyone I played with switched to private servers because they heard the news of Nost.
They did it for money dude, they just wanted more income ofc, priv servers had nothing to do with it

Shit was probably super unstable back then with massive downtime. So I think he telling the truth.
It was, ques up to four figures were no exception. Start logging in, get up, get a cup of coffee, smalltalk with your friends on the phone and when you got back it was still over ten people in queue. But I have to admit I /m still played/ING like a mad woman 😎

Regardless how you feel about the state of Classic, this is one of the greatest announcements in gaming convention history. The play on words with ice cream flavors was spot on
