I have watched many reviews on this piece, but I keep getting back to watch your video on this watch! I don’t know why!! The combination of cigars, drinks, shots from the beautiful Venice and ofcourse your voice, makes this review unique! Thank you for all that you do for the watch geeks. It is very much appreciated
Re: the watch "peeking" from under the cuff, I suggest having your dress shirt guy (or gal) sizing the left cuff large enough to allow your largest watch to slip under the cuff (if the cuff is just a little too snug, move the button). I do, both. I find it annoying to have my cuff jammed against my watch to binding inside my cuff. As my watches have grown larger (my biggest is a Seiko Samurai) my left cuff size has been growing in size, likely to the annoyance of my dress shirt guy. Good vid. Keep at it!

I never thought much of any oysterflex or even the yachtmaster, but once again, your videos show the true beauty of them. You could probably convince me one of those watches you get at McDonald's is really nice.

Gorgeous watch, especially in this configuration. Not the most stunning watch ever, IMO, but that doesn't take away from it's beauty. I'd agree it's likely the best looking Daytona. Congrats!

Wear all my watches in exactly the same spot as you. I also have "tree trunk" wrists, coming in at 8.5 inches. So I need all the links on a metal bracelet, a longer dive strap, or an XL leather strap for anything else. For me, below the knuckle and sitting on the flat of the wrist (loose) but not enough to spin is perfect for every watch.
It’s the only place to wear a watch. Above the knuckle is just bizarre

Outstanding intro to say the least and really reminded me of my baseball days in high school when on the drive to the game we would crank out some Sabbath, Bachman Turner, Uriah Heep....etc to get in that take no prisoners mood. I had the 116655. I loved it. A close second to this Daytona. I just traded it in, plus cash of course, for this Daytona.I wish I could’ve kept both but kind of pointless and it would’ve just been too much financially.

Rolex's copperish tone for rose gold is so versatile (vs pinkish). Have a two tone rootbeer which i like a lot. I prefer white gold and steel dial version of the oysterflex Daytona. Matching great watches with great wines and whiskies is so nice... another great video... thanks
Love this channel. I completely agree with you about wearing your watch past the knuckle. I don't understand why you would have it all the way up your arm. I'm a big guy and my watches wouldn't look right if I wore them like that. I bought the Seiko king turtle waffle dial after watching your review and I love it. I'm trying to get my first Omega seamaster 300m.
My AD asked if I would like to pop in to try on some exhibition pieces before it went back to Rolex. It was too rude to pass up to go in for a chat and try on some watches to I went in and had the chance to try on the Daytona on the Oysterflex with the meteorite dial - my God that is one stunning piece!
Hey Oisin, first, freaking awesome intro, reminded me of my Black Sabbath years, one a rocker always a rocker, regarding the placement of the watch on the wrist, that was a funny comment, I personally wear my bracelet watches just above the bone, or touching the bone, I hate wearing it below the bone because the weight of the watch puts a little pressure where the hand meets the wrist, also I prefer wearing my watches on the snug side, I don’t like them moving up/down specially when hot and humid.
All your watches are badasses and this one you’re showing is just another timepiece of your impressive collection, gorgeous, as always, great review…
Watching this video was an epiphany of sorts for me when you noted how you like to wear your watch 'high' on your wrist. I have worn my watch that way since I was in the second grade and was admonished by my mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, et al. that I was wearing it 'wrong'!

Watch definitely feels more at home when worn on the left of the knuckle, but very close to it. That way it’s held in place and will enable your wrist to move freely

I appreciate the finer things in life , and that Daytona is amazing . I love the style of this chrono , compared to a speedmaster or a primero. Just ordered a Seiko Speedtimer 69 , which is as near a Daytona as my budget stretches to, but I'll enjoy it all the same, while sipping on a 12 year old Macallan.
I really must start pushing the boat out on some finer wines though , possibly missing out on a lot of experiences there..

I'm never going to own an everose Daytona Oysterflex, drink from a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label or some of the wines you recommend but one thing I do have in common is wearing my watches like you between knuckle and wrist...oh and a love of la serenissima

Tried on the bracelet version of this watch at the AD last week and it wasn’t a patch on the Oysterflex version. I did get to try on the new meteorite dial Daytona on Oysterflex and it was stunning and would be my pick of the precious metal Daytonas. The Sports Watch stock was exhibition only but it was at least good to try a the different models on and get a good look at them. Congrats on your purchase.
Just bought this watch a couple days ago in white gold and it is my absolute favorite watch i own. It is beautiful in person.

A lot of the other UA-cam channels just focus on AP,Rolex,Patek,etc which are way out of most “ Normal “ people’s reach.

I guess Oisin needs some more Single Malt Scotch - Glenallachie, Springbank, Glendronach (old ones of course), Bunnahabhain, Glengoyne and so on. The perfect counterpart for this Daytona would have been a Macallan 18 / 25 Sherry Oak.
Still, great video as always - laughed about the discussion on the wrist position, cause I got some difficulties to find the right position on my wirst ;)

Regarding where to wear one’s watch relative to the the wrist bone, I prefer to wear mine on the side closer to the he elbow because my bone sticks out a bit toward the outer upper portion of my wrist. To be clear, I feel the best location is wherever you like. For me that is where and why I prefer to wear my watch(es)..
Would also love to wear my watch in Venice while sampling your local flavors and sights.

I’m in the high and tight camp when it comes to wearing my watch. I’ve got a pretty knobbly knuckle bone I guess so a watch needs to sit either side of it to sit flush and when it’s closer to my hand I find it restricts movement. So just a hairs breadth to the left of the knuckle for me.

Wear my watches just to left of the knuckle , if i wear it the other size it digs in your hand when bending my wrist. Great video loving the Daytona
That...is...a...stunning piece of art. I'm the polar opposite build from Oisin. 6.25" wrist but XXL hands. My watches slide up and down as they have to be sized big for me to get them over the knuckles. They end up in the "Oisin position" by default.....

I think the Daytona is a sensational watch. I just brought a new Daytona - all White Gold (Steel dial) via my AD. I think the whole watch is great eg the size, the dial, the quality of finish is exceptional. I really wanted a solid gold bezel. If I had been offered your configuration, I would happily accepted it.
Your watch is really an amazing piece and I hope you enjoy it for many years. Compared to the SS models, the gold watches are much rarer.

I wear my watches a little loose toward my hand but, I usually don’t let anyone see what I am wearing. I wear my watches for me. Break! Break! Had a couple of really good friends buy me a bottle of Blue Label after a big event. Not a fan but, I love my friends so I drank it. Cheers, Jock

I really have to disagree, Jeff. I was expecting a horror clip to follow. Not up to the usual grandiose opera or similar, in my humble opinion, or maybe to reflect the qualities of the Seiko.
I'm a big car fan but strangely enough not a huge Daytona fan or chrono fan, for that matter. Chronos don't last in my collection, I end up selling them as I don't find them very legible at a glance. My latest one was the Speedy Racing 44 coaxial white dial, not half bad but again, I prefer three handers. Having said that, this Daytona is a very good looking piece, it exudes class and nonchalance. You would wear this at LeMans and win the 24h race without sweating it, that's the kind of vibe I get from it.
On the two families of case profiles, this is something overlooked and barely talked about but so true. I've been praising the sexy curvy case of the YM for years, next to the slab hard edged case of the Sub. Refinement and comfort versus a more rudimental and utilitarian design. Both have their own charm and personality, but one clearly has the superior finish.

Tried on this watch the other day, our local AD's "exibition only" peice the main impression is the weight and how small it wears, its a dinky little thing even on my 7, waaaay outside my pricerange tho. I hate gold watches but I was smitten, the rubber helps deflect the bling a bit.

Perfectly correct about wearing a watch just forward of the wrist knuckle - and for those of us who lack an easily adjustable bracelet, this confers the additional advantage of being able to slide the watch a mm or two backwards to tighten it when needed.
Agree. A watch must be weared between the knuckle and the hand. Also, it must stay there in any arm position, vertical and horizontal. freaks me out when the watch takes a trip backwards when raising the arm. Hope we are not crazy 😂

I'm with you with the watch wearing position. When you walk gravity pulls it down to the wrist hand area anyway, so I've no idea how people wear it higher up the arm (closer to the elbow). I like it loose in the wrist crack!
