Yeah, apologies for that. I was going on outdated info when the car was first announced in NZ and it didn't come with seated heats at that point. My mistake and I'm annoyed about it!
Definitely hearing all good things from owners about the BYD Atto 3. Here in Australia the buying/handover experience however is getting marked down depending on the location. Great review.
Great car but waiting for weeks to have the ACC fixed. Over 80kph, the brakes suddenly actuate with nothing in the road. Local dealer as frustrated as I am over the delay. In the meantime, I have driven an MG, Renault, Leaf and Haval with the Haval second best to the BYD, can't wait for my car to be fixed.
LFP do burst into flame, but Not as bad as the ternary Li batteries. LFP short circuit usually overheat, expand and evaporate the liquid in the cells... (u can search Video on short circuit LFP) But if there's external fire burning the LFP battery... The heat will combusted the battery and burn the rest. LFP have a good point is that it's chemistry do not provide its own oxygen, ie it needs air to combust or keep on burning thus the fire can be extinguish easier with water or carbon extinguisher, like normal fires. The other ternary batteries (Not LFP) do provide their own *oxygen in their chemical compound! So they will keep on burning even if it is dosted with water or carbon extinguishers...* Ternary batteries are extremely dangerous once punchured or short-circuit
When the car is warning you to put your hands on the steering wheel, don't put your hands on the upper part of the wheel, instead put your hands on the lower parts.
Good to hear the batteries don't use nickel and cobalt and aren't liable to become a firework when punctured, that's been my main concern with electric vehicles Although I still think some innovation in battery tech is gonna be required to become less reliant on rare metals like lithium if we expect everyone to be able to own an electric vehicle in the future
i understand that this is fairly not expensive for NZ prices and salaries, but if the price transfer in direct equivalency in europe it will not be considerable... it looks good on specs and features. only thing i hated... that blue interior. hopefully they have other options for that
You got me pumped... I am almost ready to sell my Porsche, cancel the X7 order and buy a Atto so i can boild the kettle and have instant ramen on a road trip
BYD launched the SEAL (at Rs3,000,000) in Mauritius this Weekend. The ATTO 3 was already available for some months (at Rs2,300,000). 1USD roughly equals Rs46, at these prices electrification won't happen! They are twice the price in China! If I am not mistaken.
The high regen come on when u pressed the break down! Strange, Yes, that's different to what other manufacturers EV have. That's what others said who owns BYD Battery EV... This may be design decision, roll on the road without spending electricity using momentum may be one of the design consideration. Regen will lose more energy... Compare with travel rolling with momentum. Pressing the break gives highest regen and if press even more firm, it becomes real breaking
Its multi-link rear suspension make this a lot better value of money compared to MG ZS EV. Ride comfort is already better in Atto 3 as well as handling in sharp corners. Also the multi-link made the car a lot more stable. You should consider this EV if you can't wait to have a MG ZS EV.

0:57 WOOOAAAHHH I LOVE that design with the gears. As a Star Trek fan I aprrove this warp drive control design
I've watched a couple of reviews of yours now, Gavin. You're awesome! The Kiwis doing things better than the Aussies again. All the best from an Aussie, just don't mention the Rugby.
Hey mate, you're really awesome! Thanks for the review, and for making me smile 😊
WOW SUCH A NICE SUV !!! WELL DONE BYD
AND THE PRICE DONT BANKRUPT YOUR WALLET
Very nice review, very good information especially charging information.
It doesn't have seated heats, but it does actually have heated seats! Apple Android and Auto CarPlay weren't in the latest update, but are supposed to be coming this year. As is a smartphone app.
Also coming is an app for an NFC download to your smartphone, so you can leave the keys at home!
Looks like he's reviewing the Atto 4 instead. I'm confused.
Yeah, apologies for that. I was going on outdated info when the car was first announced in NZ and it didn't come with seated heats at that point. My mistake and I'm annoyed about it!
The best BYD ATTO 3 review👍
Absolutely a great EV to drive.
I plan to buy a BYD, hope it can be available in the US soon.
I bet that president Biden won’t make this happen😂😂
Its not going to happen. Not free enough to Inter a "Free market". Sorry
Definitely hearing all good things from owners about the BYD Atto 3. Here in Australia the buying/handover experience however is getting marked down depending on the location. Great review.
Thanks for the review! I’m in the market for an EV and I really want to like this one. I think I’ll book in a test drive.
I like BYD cars. I have a BYD Dolphin. I have driven more than 20,000 kilometers.
LFP do burst into flame, but Not as bad as the ternary Li batteries. LFP short circuit usually overheat, expand and evaporate the liquid in the cells... (u can search Video on short circuit LFP)
But if there's external fire burning the LFP battery...
So they will keep on burning even if it is dosted with water or carbon extinguishers...*
Ternary batteries are extremely dangerous once punchured or short-circuit
BYD's BLADE batteries do not burn, he's not just talking about LFP.
BYD Atto 3 , the best 💪🏼👍🏼
Amazing review and car channel
Awesome review thanks mate mine hopefully arrives soon 😁👍
This has got to be the best review for this car.
The noise generator while driving at low speeds is a legal requirement- you can change the noise if you don’t like the particular tone
When the car is warning you to put your hands on the steering wheel, don't put your hands on the upper part of the wheel, instead put your hands on the lower parts.
Will be interested to see your review of the Seal if it ever lands....err.... beaches itself...
Good to hear the batteries don't use nickel and cobalt and aren't liable to become a firework when punctured, that's been my main concern with electric vehicles
Although I still think some innovation in battery tech is gonna be required to become less reliant on rare metals like lithium if we expect everyone to be able to own an electric vehicle in the future
i understand that this is fairly not expensive for NZ prices and salaries, but if the price transfer in direct equivalency in europe it will not be considerable...
it looks good on specs and features. only thing i hated... that blue interior. hopefully they have other options for that
You got me pumped... I am almost ready to sell my Porsche, cancel the X7 order and buy a Atto so i can boild the kettle and have instant ramen on a road trip
You might use it to dry your hair instead, after glamping in an airconditioned tent powered by the Atto 3.
Nice review!!! It is great EV. I had booked this car 🚙!!
Thanks for the review. Really love it.
👍 Greatest video review.thank' from Bangkok 🎉🙏🏻
You made a good Ev Atto3 review. My Atto design versio will be delivered by April 2023👍in Frane, Europe.
It ill be the BLUE colour, I bet!
@@remakeit2628 Nope i chose White Ski
I love my Atto 3
