My dearest !! Well, I must say that seen from here it did not seem easy at all .... I am a bit afraid of heights, I really don't think I would have been able to climb! hahahah
You were really good !! Seen from another angle with the people going up it seemed really scary ....
It sure must have been exciting ....
The nature all around is beautiful. In summer it must be even more so !!
I recommend, always be very careful !! I hug hard with all my affection and as always I leave you my superlike !!
    Much love !! Renata

This trail would be to intense for a lot of people but wasn't that bad. It just seemed to be way more scary then it was. You would want to have a good pair of shoes though. I just love this place with so many wonderful places to explore. Well I'm glad at least you got to see this amazing trail even if it's virtual. Thanks my friend enjoy the rest of your week. 😁

@@notaboutthedestination5693 Hi, guys!! Oh, sure a good pair of shoes is fundamental in a trail. You don't know what you can find along the road!
Oh, my friends...it's always a JOY to be with you!! Hugs and happy new week! Renata

Going up is easy. The first time I did it I missed the arrow and came in from the top and had to go down the staircase. You can't really see where to put your feet going down and it made for an interesting trip.

Just before you get to the trail head for chimney rock on the left there is an unmarked trail to half moon that is another short hike but an amazing place to see . You can see it off to the left while on the chimney rock lookout .

There is a lot of interesting hidden gems in that area and many seem to be on unofficial trails.

Nice bit of scrambling over that rock. I still steer clear of tracks that need too much of that. Still noy confident with the strength in my shoulder. Great hike though....

Those things take time! I had a traumatic injury to my leg and I wasn't sure if I was going to walk again. After 4 yrs now and I am still leary of hurting my leg.

Many have died at Chimney Top Rock, and just as many falling off the sides of the ridge when they go off the trail down those little side trails you can see the whole way. Staying on trail and inside the railings, it's safe enough to bring kids though.

That is tragic that many have died there. There is so many social trails it seems normal to wander off.

Love the video but I must say that just because one is a buckeye does not mean we lack navigating/hiking skills!

We really enjoyed the hike and making the video. I did go over the video and there isn't any reference to people from Ohio that can't navigate/hiking skills.

The fencing at council chamber shelter is to protect both the white haired goldenrod and Indian rock art, they just don’t mention the rock art on the sign, but it’s there

That's cool thanks for letting us know! Next time I'll have to see if I can spot the petroglyphs on the wall. There seems to be a lot of hidden stuff in the gorge!

There's no confirmation of who carved the staircase and when. Native people did live in the gorge before it was a major logging area.
I've heard that it couldn't be natives because the soft sandstone would have worn away in the time since but who's to say the "steps" weren't much deeper 200 years ago?
Or who know, coulda been some hillbilly in the 50's.
    Great hike regardless.

Thats for sure but the mystery of who made them is what makes it interesting. I wonder if there are more steps to find.
