Ah yeah, Red River Gorge! Excellent choice! Beautiful area and you could easily spend several days here exploring. Awesome shots in this one, especially with the fall colors. This area also has a few unofficial trails that are not much of a secret. A few of top are Indian Staircase and Cloud Splitter. Cloud Splitter is definitely kinda a sketchy but pretty spectacular.
Wow what an amazing trail loop, those rock formations just incredible. Those gorgeous oranges and reds of the leaves beautiful. The tunnel a bit spooky! Thanks guys for another great video. Travel safe, take care.
So glad you could explore Red River Gorge! We were just there this weekend. Gray’s Arch and Nada Tunnel are definitely highlights. And Red River Rockhouse is our favorite. Thank you for highlighting one of our favorite places in out state! ❤️❤️

Just came back from 2 day trip RRG yesterday. 5/30/21. Ate at Red Rock Grill and ordered the burrito, the guacamole, and green salsa because of you. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!! Good Call.
We were there about 2 weeks ago, and we did hit Natural Bridge and ate at Miguel’s. My maternal grandmother’s family is from that area and we visit often.

What a great location to hike. I am guessing North and South Carolina as your next states? Oh... definitely a scooper, have to get all of that goodness on the chip
I came across one of your videos while I was doing research about Mount Rainer National Park. Then I saw you had visited West Virginia, which being from Ohio, I also want to explore so I watched those as well. Now you could say I am hooked on your videos. You both do a great job and are so genuine and personable. Best of luck traveling in 2021! P.S. I have a cousin that lives down in Lexington and the distillery district is very cool there. Too bad you didn't get to see it.

Yay for chip dipping! 🙌🏼 we are kind of trying to learn to rely on the gimbal less, as it’s a real pain to lug around haha, so I’m glad you didn’t notice! 😃
This was so awesome!!! You guys always deliver! I couldn’t stop smiling especially once you got to eat! Man that burrito looked so good!!! 🤤 Also Adam, I dip my chips like you do...the correct way! Love you guys!!!!
My guesses: Arkansas (and going to Hot Springs National Park?) and then Oklahoma? The way you guys described the hike at the end sounds a lot like the one I did in Olympic National Park. Very long and after a few 'wow' points at the start, it was just through trees the rest of the way 🤣 Unlike you guys though who said no regrets, 10 years on I still regret choosing that hike (especially after watching some of your videos and seeing what else the park has on offer!) National Corvette Museum in nearby Bowling Green is a cool too. A little further west is Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area...beautiful area and there are lots of bison there! My grandma lives near Lexington, so we mostly stuck around there for convenience, but really want to visit mammoth caves next time!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Ozark Cafe Jasper. Ans the Low Gap restaurant nearby... You'd love the food. That area was my backyard for 10 years. Can't wait to see your adventures in Arkansas
OH MY GOSH!!! Did you go to Natural Bridge??!?! That's a must at the gorge... and next time yall should go to Miguel's Pizza after!!! Please let me recommend some places!!! Let me know what yall are looking for!!! Doughnuts, coffee, hiking, restauraunts, etc.... I'd love to help yall find some neat places and have so many in mind!!!!!
We didn’t go to the Natural Bridge, but we hiked to a different bridge and it was awesome! We almost went to Miguel’s, but 🌯🌮 won! Unfortunately we left Kentucky a couple weeks ago, but we will be back!
@@AdventuresofAplusK What did you use to do video when you first started? We are using a GoPro Session and you can see in our videos what it produces. We are also looking at doing some guest blogs on our website and you would be perfect! Thanks!!!
We have used a Sony A6500 since the beginning and it’s a great camera! And sweet-shoot us an email and we can chat. We aren’t able to commit to anything the rest of 2020 (about 20 blog posts behind for our own site at the moment), but happy to chat for 2021!
Loved seeing your video of the gorge! How long does it take you to edit a video on average? I have been trying to learn editing and it is definitely a grind with a sharp learning curve!
That’s a great question! It depends a lot if we have multiple video sources (Sony, drone, and gopro) since it requires more sorting, but I’d say reviewing the clips takes probably 2 hours, editing takes around 3-4, music takes around 2, and then uploading, description writing, and tagging is around 1 hour. I’ve gotten a lot quicker at editing and can usually edit a video in 1-2 days if I have enough time. It is definitely a learning curve! I only know the bare minimum to get by haha
Hopefully you guys can get back sometime and see more of the arches. I feel like you missed out on a lot of the highlights by going on the long hike. And no Miguel’s?! I thought it was illegal to skip 😄
We definitely missed out on some of the highlights, but we are learning we enjoy getting off the beaten path vs. just checking off popular items off of a list, so we are super happy with our decision! And we almost did Miguel’s, but we can’t turn down tacos and burritos and wanted to show a slightly less popular spot some love 😄
Adventures of A plus K When you go back you have to check out the Sky Bridge trail. You can walk across the top of the arch then down underneath. It’s so cool!
Doh! You missed Ledford arches!!! They are less than a 1/4 mile from the last large campsite you passed on your way to Hanson's. I have been going to the gorge for 30 plus years, never tried that restaurant but will def put it on my to do list next time Im in the area. Miguels pizza is phenomenal, put it on your bucket list if you ever go back
@@AdventuresofAplusK I have never tried it so can't speak of how it tastes but they do have GF pizza and other food. My daughter is on a GF diet as well and always insists on going there after a hike in RRG
Yeah we've found some places that have solid GF dough, but most times it's just not worth it. But we'll definitely give it a shot if we find ourselves out there again!

I know this was almost a year ago but, do you remember where you camped while here ? We are heading to Red river Gorge soon. Looking for ideas on areas to camp.
Headed to Kentucky the first week in November. I've been curious if I will be too late to catch the fall colors. Do you remember more or less when you guys did this hike???
My 2 favorite trails Auxier Ridge to Courthouse Rock and Indian Staircase ( toredrivergorge.com/top-10-day-hikes/indian-staircase-area/indian-staircase/ ) , but all the short trails are well worth seeing , Sky Bridge , Chimney Top Rock, Princess Arch, & Half Moon Arch, nothing disapointing in the Gorge . Also make time to go up to the Natural Bridge ,lots of tourist there , but you can take the skylift to the top and save a couple hours and its pretty much continuous scenery from start to finish . ( can take as little as an hr in a half)
Carry bearspray next time you hike there. A few years ago a bear attacked a hiker then the rangers cleared all the state campgrounds. This was over a July fourth weekend.
overkill! not really needed. Yes there was a bear attack in summer of 2010 but when caught the culprit bear was ill and malnourished just looking to make an easy meal of a hiker but was chased off by someone hitting it with a backpack. Snakes and ticks are a bigger concern in the gorge. Stay safe!
Unfortunately not! My grandma lives near Lexington, so we stayed near that region and it wasn’t on our route to our next destination. But we definitely will next time!
We’d love to see more! Excited to come back one day! Pizza is hard for us because gluten and Kathryn don’t get along sometimes, but Mexican food is always safe! 😊
I’m with Kathryn on this one I am a dipper in a flicker I do not like to scoop my salsa either. But I’m also one of the weird ones that absolutely hates cilantro.
That’s the remote for Kona’s e-collar (not a shock collar), which is a training tool we use that has tremendously improved our relationship with her (she has lots of issues 😅).

Great vid as always!
Thanks Dylan!
Great video, beautiful countryside..the camera worked great, good in-camera stabilization! How does Kona hold up with all those river crossings?
Thank you! She loves them! She has recently learned that she loves water and swimming haha
Glad you are still. Enjoying. My state! I was wondering if you were still here !.. it’s Sunday. You may have moved on by now, not sure what your next state.? Reminder. If not...Bourbon Trail , Mammoth caves or lakes of southern or Western ky.
I think I heard you say you grandmother lived in Kentucky! Where?
Enjoy the sights...,
Hi Wayne! This was actually a couple weeks ago and we are a couple states away now, but we are so glad we were able to see a little bit of Kentucky and will definitely be back to see more! My grandma lives near Lexington, so we mostly stuck around there for convenience, but really want to visit mammoth caves next time!
Hope. To cya next time in Kentucky. Safe travels. I keep watching...
Thank you Wayne! 😄
great hike. Hope you are heading to Arkansas, The Natural State. Buffalo National River, by Ponca and Jasper has good hikes. Also good State Parks.
We think you’ll like what we’re up to soon! Wishing we had more time here (per the usual), but it’s a “close” adventure to Texas!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Ozark Cafe Jasper. Ans the Low Gap restaurant nearby... You'd love the food.
That area was my backyard for 10 years. Can't wait to see your adventures in Arkansas
Thank you so much for the tips! We only have a day in the area, but going to try to squeeze in as much as we can 😃
Im a scooper! that Blueberry lime cheesecake ice cream is my favorite!
It was soooo good! 😋😋
@@AdventuresofAplusK aww... we'll I have so many reccomendations next time you come!!
We can’t wait!!
My whole family is from this area. Please go back and do the Natural Bridge State Park hike.
We love Red River Gorge❤ we live about 2 hours away.
Red River Gorge isnt too far from us and we love hiking down there!!
What a beautiful spot! What are some of your favorite hikes?
@@AdventuresofAplusK Eagles Point and Rock Bridge for sure!
Sweet! Thank you for the tips!
That was on the original list, so we definitely will! The arches all look super cool! 🙌🏼
Doh! You missed Ledford arches!!! They are less than a 1/4 mile from the last large campsite you passed on your way to Hanson's. I have been going to the gorge for 30 plus years, never tried that restaurant but will def put it on my to do list next time Im in the area. Miguels pizza is phenomenal, put it on your bucket list if you ever go back
It’s tough to see and do it all 😅 We eyed Miguel’s, but Kathryn is mostly gluten free so that makes pizza places tough. We’ll be back!
I guess Missouri is your next stop. That's my state and is beautiful this time of year
You’re correct! We spent a weekend there and had a great time! Can’t wait to share soon 😃
@@AdventuresofAplusK i just watched your video in St. Louis. The ravioli and ice cream looked delicious. I've visited St. Louis a few times and if I go back I'll have to try those same places. I live in the Kansas City area. Thank you for your videos, I learn so much.
We are so happy to give you some new ideas! We highly recommend them! We hear Kansas City is awesome and we can’t wait to visit there!
Thank you for showcasing my beautiful home state! You did an excellent job filming here! I was wondering what the app is called that you used on these trails? It seemed super helpful!
We always use AllTrails. There is a free version but the paid version is key so that you can use the maps offline when you don’t have service. If you’re interested in purchasing it we have a 30% of code…APLUSK30 We highly recommend it!
We had a wonderful time in Kentucky and were impressed! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the information! I will definitely check into purchasing the app! 😊
You both do an excellent job with all of your videos! I enjoy watching them!
I'm usually a dipper, but have been known to do the odd scoop! 😀😋🙂
Hahaha a woman of many talents! 😜
@@AdventuresofAplusK 😂
We think you will be going through our state Missouri
You’re correct! We filmed a couple videos there and can’t wait to share soon!
Looks awesome as usual
It is rainy here in Fla
Hoping the sunshine comes back to y’all soon! Enjoy a nice rainy Sunday for us!
The storm will stick around here for a bit
Stay safe!
I’m definitely a dipper of salsa and a scooper of queso :)
Love it!!!
I know this was almost a year ago but, do you remember where you camped while here ? We are heading to Red river Gorge soon. Looking for ideas on areas to camp.
I want to say it was probably a Walmart parking lot in our van haha. I don’t remember actually camping in the area. I’m sorry that’s not more helpful!
There’s a spot on the backside of the arch where you can free climb up to the top. Did y’all get a chance to check that out?
We didn't, but will have to next time!
Headed to Kentucky the first week in November. I've been curious if I will be too late to catch the fall colors. Do you remember more or less when you guys did this hike???
Hey! That's about the time we were there. I don't remember the exact date, but it was late October early November
@@AdventuresofAplusK Awesome, thank you!
Dang I missed you! I was there also!!
Aw man! We hope you had a fun time!
When are you doing the “Best of Burritos” series?
Hahahaha that’s a solid suggestion! I think Stone Way Cafe in Seattle still wins for Adam’s favorite burrito, but he will gladly keep trying others 😜🌯
@@AdventuresofAplusK Niiiice. #TeamScoop
Lol! I have a feeling Adam will win that battle, but I know there has to be others on #TeamDip! 🤣
Cool travels!!
Thank you!
May u both always travel in love......makes our planet a better place......onward!!
Thank you so much for the tips! We almost visited a few of those and definitely will next time!
Carry bearspray next time you hike there. A few years ago a bear attacked a hiker then the rangers cleared all the state campgrounds. This was over a July fourth weekend.
Good to know! Thanks!
overkill! not really needed. Yes there was a bear attack in summer of 2010 but when caught the culprit bear was ill and malnourished just looking to make an easy meal of a hiker but was chased off by someone hitting it with a backpack. Snakes and ticks are a bigger concern in the gorge. Stay safe!
Did you guys go near Mammoth Cave?
Unfortunately not! My grandma lives near Lexington, so we stayed near that region and it wasn’t on our route to our next destination. But we definitely will next time!
You need to come back… Auxier Ridge and Double Arch are better choices imo. And you need to eat at Miguel’s!! 😆
We’d love to see more! Excited to come back one day! Pizza is hard for us because gluten and Kathryn don’t get along sometimes, but Mexican food is always safe! 😊
12 miles... anywhere in the Gorge... is a long trek. But lots to see!
It was a very long day! But awesome scenery!
Skybridge and Natural Bridge are huge and beautiful at the Gorge
We almost visited those! We will check them out next time 😃
Check out Auxier Trail too next time, in the fall if you can.
That was also on the original plan. Lots of cool spots to choose from!

Thank you!
I have lived in Kentucky all my life and always wanted to go there. Beautiful
It is such a gorgeous area! We hope you can experience it 😄
I’m with Kathryn on this one I am a dipper in a flicker I do not like to scoop my salsa either. But I’m also one of the weird ones that absolutely hates cilantro.
Team dip n flick vs team scoop! Oh no we’re big cilantro fans! But that’s ok!
CURIOUS QUESTION >>> What is the bright orange circular object hanging from your neck? Thanx in advance.
That’s the remote for Kona’s e-collar (not a shock collar), which is a training tool we use that has tremendously improved our relationship with her (she has lots of issues 😅).
I’ve lived in Ky my whole life and I have never heard anyone call it red. Most people call it the gorge
You should go to Hocking Hills in OHIO. Beautiful area
It has been on the list for years, but we have yet to make it there. Someday!
Big time scooper here, by the way! Haha
Yeah! Team Scoop!
I'm totally a dipper like Katherine. :)
Woo! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
So K wants chunks in her ice cream but doesn't like the chunks on the chips? Team scoop
Hahaha valid point! I just don’t want chunks of onions. I’ll take chunks of Reese’s or cookies any day though! 😋
Scooping is the only option!!
I’m slowly learning! 😉
thanks A&K
