Hi James and Ian, what a great video on my favourite species. James pointed out the bird song and for me that is one of the pleasures of fishing. Please Ian could you include a short clip just of the birds singing just for pleasure! James looked happier than I have ever seen him on a video, so he was obviously enjoying himself. Superb camera work from Ian, as usual! Incidentally some of those roach looked very close to the pound mark or even over! Those carp boys don’t know what they are missing hey!, Regards Bill
@@cadencefishinguk What type of scales fo you use? The ones I've got go upto 20lb but are inaccurate for smaller weights. Caught a crucian looked around 1 3/4 weighed a pound and 1lb roach showed half. . Tested 1 kg sugar at home just over a pound! Great video and good tip on hooking casters.
Hi James. My kind of fishing after dog roach on caster. Always buried my caster thru fat end, but see your logic thru pointed end, will try it. Would you consider feeding a little hemp as well as caster to keep roach on the bottom? Thanks for another great video. Andy James
Hi James, I noticed when you were showing us how to hook your casters they were just loose in your maggot pot. Do you ever leave them in water ? I use to find this stopped the caster going dark too quickly. I use to use fish hemp and caster all the time when fishing but at £4 a pint for casters these days I just take a loaf of bread ! Thanks for the videos all ways enjoy them, full of information and looking forward to the next. Tight lines James
Stephen Field Hi! I prefer to keep my casters out of water. I keep them in an air tight plastic bag during the session and take enough out for an hour or so fishing at a time. I like the casters to stay crispy and start to turn. Find if I keep them in water they go soft and are not as good to hook or feed. Cheers James
Great vid with great tips.. You can't beat catching quality roach..James is so laid back he's almost lying down..😊

It's actually quite difficult to record birdsong without also capturing lots of other sounds...dogs barking, machinery etc.

Do your own !.
Forgot to say ,you know where you can stick your carp when there's Roach like this on offer !.
Gerald Swain, amen to your comment, I would rather catch a 1lb roach than a thousand carp💡
Chappy, mate - time to get the Speedos on and get some underwater shots :-)
A thick 10mm dry suit more like!!!🤭
