Thank you James and other crewmembers. If there was an "Emmy" for best fishing video's I would vote for it ! . A joy to look at and to learn from. The most important tip I got is "go out fishing even if the weather is like that" buy yourself some excellent rainclothing like in the film and go for it.
thank you so much for making this video, i get so many people asking me to make a video fishing this method but its one i have never fished thank you for such an in depth video!!
I learned a great deal from this video, having not used a flat float that often, this film is probably the best demonstration I have seen. Well done again James and Chappy.
As ever James your vids are more than informative. They show the beauty of the many natural venues that we have and the different methods for catching the silver fish that many of us weaned on. Not just a.n.other angling video, they’re a joy to watch
Just back from the river where I had bleak trouble was thinking of fishing a bigger bait on a flat float next time and this video has taught me lots, thanks for sharing
Hi the flat float is one of my favourite methods on my local river which is very deep in some areas, 20 feet is not unusual. So I was very pleased to see James demonstrating this method. I did wonder why James didn’t fish a bit shorter if the depth was there! Tricky conditions for both James and Ian and I do love the atmosphere that Ian captures, especially the slow motion shots. Lovely looking stretch of the river with plenty of trees etc. Loved this video, as always. Regards Bill
James did feed closer but that line didn't produce much on the day despite the depth. It just seems the bream prefer to be in that deeper third to mid river. Maybe they feel safer there?
Genius idea with the flat float and Olivette interchangeable set up looking to pick up some for river fishing and was wondering how many rigs to set up answer only 2 or 3 with the interchange!
Thanks again James and chappy. Flat float fishing is on of my favourite methods on our rivers but there's so very little information on how to unless we speak polish or Italian and i more or less taught myself. Thanks for filming this episode it will help many people get to using this deadly method with confidence they are fishing it properly. See you soon
@@cadencefishinguk hi ya both the thurne and bure are fishing really well now. On the bure at st Bennetts pegs 1.2 3 are good for twenty lb+ of roach skimmers are everywhere and proper bream and skims around the black sign pegs 20- 24 . And the thurne we had a 69 lb on a match two weeks ago big skims and small bream and there's good roach to be had on this river as well you would have to go some to have a bad day i don't think James will have any problems with his level of skills. Obviously the broads are quite bissy with holiday boats and that will be more come the summer holidays but it really doesn't affect the fishing if anything the skimmers love them and we very rarely have problems even with 100 anglers match fishing early morning from first light there 5 hours with no boats and evenings quieter of lovely
Learnt loads from that and will give it a try soon. As mentioned last night at the roadshow let's have some more Trent content soon please. Burton Joyce road stretch few pegs down from the out fall would make a good feature please James. Let me know when and I'll bring some pork pie lol
Good day to you again. The first few fish you caught during the session were white bream, in Latin Blicca Björkna. They are no hybrids, but a species of their own, and like roach, rudd, bleak and bream, all belonging to the carp family. Over here, they are abundant in some areas, like the Frisian lakes, in other parts, they are scarce or not there at all. The main differences are size of the eye, bigger than the size of the mouth, bream have eyes smaller than the mouth and the scales, which are smaller than those of bream. White bream will not grow as big as bream, 40cm being a big one. For skimmers, the Dutch language has no specific name, we call them small bream, which in fact, they are. In areas where there are too many, some don't grow to "bream size". At 29.24 you certainly caught a nice fish Again, tight lines from Holland.
Hi Steven, yes you can but it’s limited on range. Difficult to present a flat float properly past the tip of the rod and that’s why poles are so effective when using a flat float. A long rod would help! Cheers James
@@williamhargrave9202 you're entitled to your opinion, which still doesn't make much written sense by the way, but clearly it's not shared by thousands of other viewers. Tight lines.
nice to see river fishing, rather than all the usual commercial fishing makes a nice change
One of the best flat float videos I've seen. Why? When? How? All answered simply and easily understood. Thanks James.

I use the flat floats on the Aire and Calder, you need it when a big canal starts to pull off. Try it next time you're up our way.

Yet another excellent video James keep them coming ideally on the rivers
What a cracking video never seen a video using the flat float very informative well done chappers making James look so good
He makes it easy for me👍
That's dedication, good instructional video for a pole noobie like me
We used those floats back in the early 80's in Germany on the river Weser.
Another fantastic video, absolute craftsman at work (angler and cameraman) total dedication in those conditions to deliver pure quality👍
Thanks skipper
Great choice of peg, I used to fish there 25 years ago and blank, nice to see some methods to get the best out of it. Thanks James

Super smashing great.
I’m no pole fan but great video. Subbed.
Thanks. We try to cover rod and line fishing too as much if not more than pole.

Great video on a great river. Didn't see much of Monty today :)
He walked back to the van on his own, sick of the rain!

Check in most weeks Tony, we try to focus on natural venues
Hmmm that superteam logo on a cap looks just like the superteam logo on shakespeare stuff. A little sentiment for old times? :)
very good like it
Another top class video James. I shall have to stop watching them as they are tempting me out of retirement Lol......Joe
Don't think the labrador likes skimmers, tried nailing that last one 😂

Great video ones again James nice new seat box as well 👍👍
Keep up Ant...he's had it a few weeks now lololo
How about a pole feeder video please
hi there, how waterproof is that suit your wearing ? and where can i buy one.
James wears goretex clothing. It is 100% waterproof. It is made by Halkon Hunt in Doncaster.
Can you use a flat float on a river using a normal fishing rod to hold it back
Hi Steven, yes you can but it’s limited on range. Difficult to present a flat float properly past the tip of the rod and that’s why poles are so effective when using a flat float. A long rod would help! Cheers James
Have James changede to an OCTBOX?
James uses three different seatboxes depending on the situation
@@cadencefishinguk which seat box does he use when feeder fishing?
@@elokjerside8680 recently octbox, all depends how far the walk to the swim. Although he has a set of wheels to make it easier.
Can u float that in normal spinning rod 3 meters long?
Yes
Invest in end bungs on every section of that big pole
Do you do fishing selling catalog or and is it a Web site? I'm new to fishing
Check out www.cadencefishing.co.uk where we explain everything 👍

You make fishing look the most boring hobby when it isn't,need to cut out those big then perhaps people may snatch till the end .
