I don't fish with a pole or match fish at all but I find the way Steve explains things so easy to understand. Absolutely full of information and has the personality to make so many videos interesting. As a fellow East Anglian, top work sir.
Hi Matthew, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Very kind words indeed! I'm glad my explanations are clear and easy to understand, nice to hear people enjoying the content. Regards, Steve.
Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
Yes fishing the jigger can be magical. Some purists will say it’s not fishing but it’s a great method for catching fish shallow .Great video and explanation.
Grate video, thank you for your hard work. I am new to the world of pole fishing. I live in the U.S. and they call it cane pole fishing, and the jigger float over here is a slip bobber. But no one cares enough in the U.S. about pole fishing, it all about baitcasters and how far you can cast. Keep up the good work. I will start making videos of whip fishing and eventually pole fishing. P.S. please start selling MATRIX fishing gear in the U.S.
Thanks for the comment, I bet the fishing is very different in the U.S however, it's nice to see people watching the content. Maybe soon things will change. Good luck with your fishing and filming Regards, Steve.
Certainly the best jigger float fishing video UA-cam. I personally found 4mm pellet on the hook is superior to 6mm. The venue I fish is predominately F1's and there mouth size varies enormously from chub size to almost closed. For this reason I tie Middy size 20 KM2 hooks with the small Guru bait band to 0.14 line, this allows the bait to look as natural as possible. I have found 90% of the fish caught were on the jig up. When the fish are having it you may well find the fish find your shot more appetizing than the pellet.
Thanks for the comment, glad to see others are having success on the Jigger. To see a few people state... this is the best Jigger tutorial on UA-cam is a great compliment. Regards, Steve.
Hi Stephen, love your videos, this one is no exception. I have tried this method before without much success. Having watched your video I am definately going to try it again next week but with much more clarity than before, so thank you 👍
@@AnglingDirectTV Hi Stephen, havent had a chance myself yet to try the jigger but i told my dad to watch your video. After 70 years of fishing it was great to see how animated he was after watching your video and looking forward to trying it. He tried the jigger at the match he fished this Weds at Orchard lakes in Hampshire. He fished top two plus two and added 20lb to his weight in the last hour. So thanks again!! 👌
Thanks Eddie, I normally start around 2ft-3ft and then adjust however, there is nothing saying they won't be deeper, so its trial and error. Regards, Steve.
Its just reminded me why im not doing so well with the jigga for carp, i have slipped into a bad habit of working whole length of rig instead of partial movement. Thanks Steve 😊😊
Mate the production quality of this video is insane💪! Really spectacular 😮 Cheers from Italy. But did you film it by yourself, or did you have another videomaker with you?
Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. The Match Masterclass series are always filmed with 1 videographer, that leaves me to do this fishing 😂. Regards, Steve.
Hi Steve, excellent video on the Jigger fishing. How deep was it at the spot you were fishing. Would the fish come to let's say 15 inches if the water was 5-6 foot deep? I am trying to jigger but the difficulty is the depth, the rithm of feeding, the spot to feed, the pole length to handle and keep it steady....it looks so easy when I watch your video.....
HAHA it does take practise to get things smooth. The swim I fished was around 5ft deep, some days the fish are lower and you can Jig around 2/3ft deep however, in this video they came very shallow. Regards, Steve.
This will vary depending on conditions. In theory it doesn't make a huge difference, you can have the top stop touching your pole tip if preferred. If it's windy, presentation will be harder so having a longer length of line might help. Regards, Steve.
This rig is effective when the fish are feeding shallow, during the warmer months it's amazing however, you can use the Jigga all year if you can get the fish competing. Regards, Steve.

A very informative and well explained video, this is the best jigger video I have watched, will definitely be giving it a go this weekend.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words. Regards, Steve.
Probably the best explanation of how to fish the jigger rig.
Glad it was helpful!
Will try this weekend. Thanks for your video .
Good luck 🤞
great vid steve ,perfect demo,
excellent tutorial !!!!! best ive seen on the jigger
That's amazing to hear! I'm glad my explanation came across so people could understand. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Regards, Steve.
Fingers crossed i will be trying this tomorrow at Monkhall in my 1st open match using my new pole.

Excellent video! Very informative! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Takes a little time to adjust but on it's day in the right venue can be top class. Thanks for a great video 🌟
Thanks Jeff, When this method works its can be brilliant, as you said. Regards, Steve.
Brilliant video. Did you prime the swim first?
I didn't, this venue is well stocked, it only took a few minutes to get the fish feeding confidently. Regards, Steve.
Great video. I've never tried the jigger method, but I will give it a try next time I'm out fishing.
It's a must try, I was certainly slow to realise how good the Jigger can be. Regards, Steve.
Definitely going to give it a go thanks....😂
Great vid Steve 👏👏
Defo gonna av to try it next time i go partridge 👍
Good luck 🤞
Hi Steve would you ever use this method in winter? amazing video.
I absolutely agree steve It's fantastic i always fish the jigger It's awesome, great video steve nice 1 buddy.
Thanks for the comment, its a crazy method at times! Glad you enjoyed the video. Regards, Steve.
Not a big pole fan, but gonna give this a go. 😊
It's not for everyone however, it's undeniably good at catching fish. Regards, Steve.
Great video, would you start jigging at 1/2 depth and then adjust as required.
Thanks Eddie, I normally start around 2ft-3ft and then adjust however, there is nothing saying they won't be deeper, so its trial and error. Regards, Steve.
Now off to try and get some floats to try this at Meadow Farm tomorrow. Thanks for the tips.
Hope you enjoy, let me know how it goes. Regards, Steve.

Great video Steve, would you have to alter the rig to fish casters?....👍
Thanks Paul, no I wouldn't alter the rig in any way to fish Casters, I band a caster in the bait band and fish the same way. Regards, Steve.
Nice one Widget. Is Reatham good for F1s on all the lakes pal ??
Hi Mick, I find main lake best for F1's however, they are in all of the lakes. Regards, Steve.
how much line do you have between jigger stop and top kit
This will vary depending on conditions. In theory it doesn't make a huge difference, you can have the top stop touching your pole tip if preferred. If it's windy, presentation will be harder so having a longer length of line might help. Regards, Steve.
Will the jigger work when fishing for silver fish ?
Yeah, this rig can be amazing for IDE and Roach. I would fish slightly lighter line and smaller hooks but thats it. Regards, Steve.
When would you know it’s time to use to use this rig in a match situation ?
This rig is effective when the fish are feeding shallow, during the warmer months it's amazing however, you can use the Jigga all year if you can get the fish competing. Regards, Steve.
Is it worth trying on bungalow at reepham ?
Loved the informative video m8, but sorry, commercials have ruined true fishing in my opinion. Over-stocked little ponds.
Have tried it once on a natural water but nothing.maybe need to get the swim going more first
The Jigger float is definately more effective in commercial fisheries with a good stock of fish. Regards, Steve.
Work that jigger :)
Amazingly small for the test weight
How do you know what depth to start at if you’re swim is ie 5-6-7 foot
It's trial and error with this rig, I would start around 2-3ft and see how it goes. Cheers, Steve.
As an American I am puzzled at to why fishing overseas is so complicated and proper
Everything matrix apart from the Preston jigger 😉
HAHA! Matrix don't do a Jigger float 😂 I have always used tackle I believe in and the Matrix range has never let me down. Regards, Steve.
💪😃
You were saying your using a size 14 hook whilst holding up a size 16 😅
HAHA good observation, that was my mistake. I was using the Sz16 that I help up. Regards, Steve
Very very good Steve well done, it look's a deadly method, I will have a go at it one day, Thank you Steve and ADTV
Thanks James, let me know how you get on with the Jigger! Regards, Steve.
