I love all the old songs, when people could sing, and lyrics told stories, of love of heartbreak, of dreams, of hopes. Of wonder, of beauty.. Thank you, so much. Much love to you, . From one heart to another.
You know when i get to thinking about the good ole days, I think of how thousands of kids who were robbed of there freedom and fun football games and there HS crush to go die in a sweltering jungle some where in a foreign land screaming for that Mom or girfriend. think of that and it will help a little.
I was born at the end of 1945 and just so happened to squeak by at hearing this wonderful music at dances! This great music was played by several DJs in the Pittsburgh, PA music market. You know of course that Pittsburgh , PA is known as the Doo Wop Capital of the World”
I remember a lot of these songs. I also remember the hit songs covered by obscure artists and were "nickel records" that poor kids could afford. They were usually sold at soda shops or in the budget department of stores that carried records. Some of these cover artists were actually good and probably were in well known bands later.
I was a teeny bopper in the 60s. Best music of all time. The school dances, all dressed up, cruising, bon fires drive in movies, first kiss. I'm blessed to have the music and the memories ❤️
I was a teenager in the sixties but over here in England we were not privileged to enjoy Doo Wop. Now in my 70s nothing is better then quietly listening to these marvellous songs and like you remember meeting friends in Betty’s cafe and first romance. Days lng gone but never forgotten.
Might i add to my last post that Pittsburgh, PA had several DJs that spun this fantastic music, teo of which were PorkyChedwick and Terry Lee Trunzo………. Both great to new talent!!!!,
I have most of these 45’s. I am a huge vinyl collector from the 50’s to mid-60’s music. I appreciate you showing the label’s of the 45’s. I also collect the original studio paper sleeves plus picture sleeves of this era.
Yeah, I guess I'm not the only one who hears a rare oldie and searches for a picture of the record to see what the label looks like. Nice to have the work done for me!
Im. Quite. Happy in what im listening to. ?? So. Many thanks. For. Playing. This. Old. Music. As. Im. Old. Myself In my. 90. Years and still enjoying all kind of. Music. From. Rock and. Roll. Days to. Mostly. Classical.
Tell Me Why!! Rob Roys, #9 here. I have that song as track 1 in one of my dance mixes because it's an AWESOME 50s tune! So representative of the era and those vocals are just Off the Hook, it doesn't get any better.
I am 89 yrs old and This Music is still the best. 'twas sometimes called 'hood music' roundly condemned (Pat Boone sometimes was rung in to replace it ISSHHH!) Anyway I am still on board!!!!!
Some reissue enterprises should get these performances on CDs 💿 and/or digital downloads for resale as 4 CDs 💿 for $19.95 in a box set that opens like a book with a booklet giving information ℹ️ about the performances.
Too Know Him Is To Love Him by the Teddy Bears was written by Phil Spector, when he was in in high school. The group consisted of two of his friends and Phil. The title came from his father's tombstone. The song went to Number 1 on the charts.
Fond memories, when life was so much more simple, meet up on Friday night with a pay packet, after working all week on the building sites, wearing my drain pipe jeans, drape coat, Eaton Clubman chucka Boots. Ahhhh now those were the days.

Smooth as silk - that's the ever-fabulous Eydie Gorme !
The Aquatones version of Crazy for You is absolutely wonderful! The late Lynne Nixon just nailed it!!! - More magic: Chris and Kathy!
The aquatones are a awesome group !! Love it all !!!
Lynne was classically trained in Opera , she had a perfectly modulated voice.
I wish I could go back to the 50s and STAY THERE!...lol
Excellent repertoire.(Brazil)
I was born in 1957 so I don't remember much of this rare music. Some may be regional I suppose. But I find a magical quality in the sound ✨️ 😌
Me in 55 but in the 80's I worked in a used record store so I got a really good taste and it's good! Really good!
