our state offers something called SeniorCare. it covers the part D as creditable coverage and only costs $30/yr and is great for those who don't have many medications and doesn't result in a penalty if you ultimately need to pick a full part D plan. I don't know if other states have similar programs or not though, something to look into if you live outside of Wisconsin that is.

I do not have an expertise in ChampVA coverage like I do in Medicare coverage! Can you talk to someone who helps with ChampVA to find out how it works with Medicare? I know it covers many of the same costs as Medicare supplements but I don't know if it fills in all the gaps like Plan F!
