Just adding my appreciation to those below for the super gift ideas, Ruann! They are the most unique ideas I've seen so far. Thank you for doing the work. I think several people in my life will be getting travel gifts this year. My favorite are the packing cubes. I use them every single time I travel but I need more. The cubes are also wonderful for storing fabric. I use large ones to put all my themed fabrics in such as Christmas or fancy sparkly or brocade fabrics. Using mesh on top makes it easy to see what's inside and this way these, less used, fabrics don't take up room on my shelves. Thanks for keeping me company in my sewing room!
Lots of great ideas here. I think I will use the make-up brush holder pattern and whip us a paintbrush wrap, a crochet hook wrap, a fork/spoon/knife wrap for picnics....
So nice to have found your channel... I'm from Connecticut in the USA... And I was very surprised to see the "closet safe" as it was call on the UA-cam channel that I found it on and I made it for a gift for a friend's daughter who was going away for a week with some of her friends and I made it for her and she thought it was a pretty cool idea... Because, as teenagers, you don't really know how the other kids are in the group... So it's cool to put this in the closet with a dress over it or a coat over it and no one knows the difference---or hiding something away from your children at home... If they happen to be the kleptomaniac type... Or they take things without asking or just saving things for a rainy day... It's a very good idea... I plan on making a few more...❤️❤️
The washcloth travel pouch might be something to make if you're providing presents for your local food bank / community kitchen. I remember my mum crying in the supermarket when she had to choose between buying loo roll and toothpaste, and getting something like this would have been such a wonderful gift.
It is always good to tell folks low on money that baking soda in a box is around one dollar US and it works great as toothpaste, lasts for months. When my kids were teens I had to spend almost all my money to keep them fed so extras were hard to buy so I learned alternatives that had more than one use. I've even had to wash clothes with a bit of dish soap and baking soda (I have to say it made the clothes really white and throwing a few clean tennis balls in the dryer with the clothes softened them up without softner).... I also used flannel that I cut into toilet paper wide straps, ran them on the surgery making 8 inch long rectangles, then just roll them on tp paper tubes and we used those for the on non-poo wiping... just dropped them into a diaper pail with soapy water, when it was. Full I throw them into the wash with a bit of bleach with washing powder. Saves a bunch on toilet paper which we only use for poo wiping... Just saying
Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas with us!! I love how this challenge not only shares great gift ideas but it introduces me to new vloggers!!!❤
Lots of great gift ideas. Definitely will have a go at some of them. It’s lovely that you take the time to do the research but share with us. Thank you 😊. Your friend Diane ❤
Love these ideas. I use packing cubes that I’ve bought myself but never thought of making my own. Using a shower curtain is genius. Thanks for the suggestions x
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you tell us all, I really love ❤❤❤❤ those 10-items that you’ve shared with us all. I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too, because I really like your style too
Hi from Houston, Texas! Fabulous bunch of ideas, thank you for putting them all together. I am eyeballing the cat warming pillows and the travel pillow. Oh! And the makeup bag and rollup little bag. So fun to have found your channel😄, which I found because I was watching Cara at SoSewMad🥳
Like all of your ideas, the cat made me chuckle. Really enjoyed your video! Love your sense of humor, your voice is a perfect pitch for me, and being from the US, love your accent.....that you don't even know you have.
Repeating what others have said but, thank you for sharing the best gift ideas I have seen so far. Other videos I have watched for gift ideas all seem to have the same things on their lists. Love watching your videos so, thank you again x
This is the first time I’ve heard of this and am excited. I make several gifts each year and these are some good ones. I can’t wait to join in the fun!! Thank you so much for this video and all the info!!😊
Some brilliant ideas! I am still at a loss as to what to make this year 😂. I love using the travel pillow in the car. Not sure why i haven’t ever thought of this before 😅
These were great ideas! Thank you! My daughter is travelling overseas for the first time in January and I think the makeup pouch would be great, and the face washer roll for her teeth items. I might try to incorporate a zip pocket for her retainer. She’s always worried she will loose it. Thanks again!
There! I happened upon this video as I'm sitting here sewing for my sister's November birthday. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to add in one of those closet safes… What a great idea! Subscribed.
Thank you for such brilliant ideas. I shall be making a lot of these for Christmas presents for my grandchildren . I have 8 from 3 years to 14 years, 6 girls and 2 boys and like to make their presents so they are personal to them. 👍
Some great ideas there! Thanks for sharing. I crochet flannels, book markers, floral appliques for greeting cards artwork as quick gifts for friends and family 😃
Brilliant vlog, I was given the coat hanger a few years ago in beautiful satin and lace. I keep all my tights in it. Also received the makeup bag with my initial on the the flap. Just love it. Thank you for the other ideas
As always Ryan fab-u-los! 🎉 I have to make things for a sale at my Mum’s residential home and always get great ideas for quick makes from you 🤩 I think I will try the makeup drawstring bags as I looked at those last year but made wine bags instead! Thanks again xx
Hi Ruann, sewing beginner and fellow Yorkshire gal here! Just finished making the roll up make-up carry case, but adapted it a bit for my niece and nephew and put some stationary, chocolate and toys for Christmas. I hope they like them. Thank you so much for the channel and pattern recommendations. Learning so much ❤
Thank you so much for sharing so many lovely ideas. I’ve been sown some gifts like little wallets and shopping bags. There are some free tutorials out there . I’m Portuguese so I watch mostly Brazilian tutorials with free patterns too 😅😊❤❤❤
Brilliant ideas. Thanks. I'm going to use the make-up brush roll up thingie (technical term) and adapt it for my daughter-in-law who paints. She can use it for some of her brushes. Take care.
@theyorkshiresewgirl I quite like the idea of the makeup bag, but she wouldn't go for that. Might make myself one and those cubes for suitcases for next time I go away in March next year.
Interesting ideas and different from most I’ve seen. I especially love the commenter who suggested making the travel pouches for food banks. I volunteer with an organisation that does a lot of outreach in the underhoused community and wonder if these might be worthwhile making up!
I love your shelcing unit, what are theycalled and maybe what company did you purchase them from? Your craft room is lovely and your ideas are stellar.
Hi Ruan, some great quick ideas. I’ve made the closet safe before they are great. I also make the seat belt travel cover with chemo patients in mind as many have port lines where the belt rubs. X
My oldest grandson is an artist. I'm thinking about making him one of the roll up bag for his birthday next year for his charcoal pencils and paint brushes. Thank you for the ideas. I know if three projects I'm going to make.
Very cool ideas.. I’m totally taken by the make up case!!! Yes I absolutely lose everything in my current makeup bag! #middleage Happy festive sewing xxx

Ooh that’s such a good idea for the packing cubes!
You could also use clear plastic tablecloth to make the top- then it’ll be see through and dust free
Lots of great ideas here. I think I will use the make-up brush holder pattern and whip us a paintbrush wrap, a crochet hook wrap, a fork/spoon/knife wrap for picnics....
Sounds great!

Have fun!
I plan to make a pair of hand warmers. It sounds like a great idea.
Oh fab! Enjoy x
The llama heating pad is so cute!
Isn’t it 🥰

Oh that’s so thoughtful ❤️
Lovely ideas Ruan.
Thanks lovely 🥰
Really good ideas. Thanks Ryan x
You're so welcome!
I find the teabag wallets useful, you can put in a selection of teabags, handy to keep in your workbag
Ooh I saw that! It nearly got on my list but my video would have been too long 🤣
Good idea😊
Make up brushes bag would be great for my wood chisels for my wood carving. Thanks for the great idea.
Oh what a fab idea!
Came for the sewing ideas, stayed for the inclusivity ❤❤❤
So glad you stayed 🥰
My oldest grandson is an artist. I'm thinking about making him one of the roll up bag for his birthday next year for his charcoal pencils and paint brushes. Thank you for the ideas. I know if three projects I'm going to make.
That is awesome! 🤩
I’ve done the hand warmers: the can also be used as a cold pack. Pop some in a ziplock/plastic bag and into the freezer. 😊
Ooh love that!
Great ideas! Thank you so very much!! :+)
Glad you like them!
Thanks for some great ideas
Glad you like them!
That is genius!
Thank you x
Very cool ideas.. I’m totally taken by the make up case!!! Yes I absolutely lose everything in my current makeup bag! #middleage
Happy festive sewing xxx
🤣🤣. It’s a game changer!
Clever hanger safe!!!
Its great isn’t it!
Great suggestions.
Glad you like them!
I made little pouches of tarnish cloth to keep silver jewelry pieces shiny and bright between wearings.
That's a great idea!
Some great ideas there, thank you. I love the coat hanger safe. I think these would also be great for horsey friends, who compete with their four legged friends, to keep all the little bits together, with their competition jacket ie; best gloves, hair net, (I know, 😂odd but most of us wear a hairnet under our hats at competitions), hair scrunchies, tie, bit of lip gloss, rescue remedy😮/hip flask (for Dutch courage) etc. 😊
That’s a great idea! My daughter is starting to do horse shows soon, this would really help her too 😊 love that she’s not the only one with rescue remedy in her pocket too! 😂 Kate x
That’s such a fab idea!
@@Angelchakra she most definitely won’t be the only one with rescue remedy in her pocket 🤣. If she plaits her horse for shows, a vendor type apron is also a really useful make, to keep all the plaiting things to hand while she’s plaiting x
