You did this. Over CARPET?!
I know really.. It was giving me anxiety.. 🙄
Calmly. They do not use a blowtorch.
Not just carpet. SHAG carpet
All those little metal shavings are going to be stuck in the carpet- and then stuck into your feet. Or your cats feet. ☹️
This was my first reaction too :)
Nothing like coming home to metal shavings in the rug.
Wouldnt you vacumn?
@@debibarrington8348 you mean magnet???
My first thought was that
Gee why I think a tool exists to fix that. The vacuum.
I came here to diss this idea but realised that many had already done so. Faith in humanity restored.
1. please use fake plants if you're going to do this.
2. Christmas music??
3. It annoys me so much that they did this over carpet
4. How tf are the plants not going to die
5. What happens if you bump into it and it falls over?
Caroline Craig *3* annoyed me the most -.-
It isn't Christmas music, actually, it's part of the Nutcracker ballet.
1 the plants are fine
2 does the music matter?
3 Buy a vaccuum cleaner
4 The plants have air and the lid can open for watering
5 Then dont bump it over
6 SMH
@@Jblah 1. The plants aren't fine
2. There's literally so many better music options, and yes it matters.
3. Still, a million times easier to do this not over carpet
4. Maybe they have air and water, but sun? Unless you put this thing right next to a super bright south window.
5. That's pretty hard if you actually use this on a daily basis.
@@rizapaolahawkeye yeah sorry I just associate nutcracker with Christmas
I disagree with this idea. Succulents need quite a lot of sunshine, airy, and the pots must be well drained. This way will kill our succulents.
Thank you
That's what I wanted to say
Might be a nice idea for garden tables? If you put a few more holes at the bottom it should be fine right?
Yeah please use fake plants if you're going to do this.
if the plants stay small then it would be ok outside. but some succulents stretch & get very big.
Triggered that the legs aren’t lined up with the part that holds the glass. Or even placed like a cross shape
1) please use fake succulents for this. It’s a unique idea but real plants should not be placed in a table. That’s insane.
2) why Christmas music??
Exactly! Fake succulents also look really nice
Loved the music and the real flowers..fake one wouldve cheapened the look
😂😂😂😂😂
Agree with you. Also, why the extra and unnecessary step with removing the base ?
It's to create airflow for the plants, besides the music I think it's nicer to look at that what it replaced
Make sure you have lots of sunlight in the room otherwise you’ll have a dead succulent table😂
What happens if it gets knocked over?!
The would be hell to clean up...
lol
Sob
fun :)
You will doe in 5s
LMFAO , have fun cleaning out the dead succulents in 2 weeks 🤣
No! You built a sucuclent humidity death trap. Succulents are desert plants that thrive with dry air and they do not want to stay wet for long periods of time. A lid will seal moisture in.
Probably use taller stubs to raise the glass
This is so beautiful and looks really easy to do. I hate diy projects that take essentially trash and with 45 hrs worth of wasting your time you end up with different looking trash - this project is not that! I don't know much about succulents but the ones I have could survive fine in this! It's really unique and cute!
Why tf did y’all use music from the Nutcracker????? It’s June????
Cuz they can
😂😂😂😂
Every dusty work is done on that carpet. So I am not able to concentrate on main content of this video.
SAME. All those metal shavings just sliding down into the carpet? Yeah, no.
My very first thought.
My thoughts exactly!! I was like "What are you doing??? Drilling and putting soil over the carpet???"
Don’t do this. Succulents- especially Echeverias (literally almost every succulent here) need full sun and will etiolate and die indoors. The glass cover will raise humidity in the planter and encourage stem rot. And it’s hard for beginners to keep succulents alive and healthy in vessels without drainage holes. Make the planter deeper and use ferns and moss instead.
You think ferns could live in there?
XpetraXpazlX I think maybe peacock fern would be alright it likes high humidity.
I keep my ferns in closed terrariums- constantly moist and high humidity. They will get plenty of light near window that gets morning light or in a particularly bright room. My only concern would be making the substrate deep enough for adequate drainage- the deeper the better. Of course if you have a particular fern in mind, research its particular needs beforehand
Seriously I have about 50 extra artificial succulents right now. And last week tried to sell an antique memory box table. Sometimes ideas are meant to be.
Pro tip: use cactus soil for succulents.
Was just coming here to say that. I'd use this on a patio instead of inside because I'm a klutz who'd knock it all over at least once a month. Or my cats would.
Also use fake plants for this.
protip: don't put succulents in a fucking death trap
What a great idea. I love purchasing things from garage sales and taking their legs off of them and using them for something else. No one ever thinks of that. Great 💗💗
No one? What about every single save-money DIY Pinterest-loving craft fanatic out there?
As a person who has many many many succulents, I have to say this is such an IGNORANT video.
W ould be awesom on a bright patio
Do you have any tips on helping succulents survive?
@@lisaking4160 The care really depends on the variety of succulent you have. My biggest piece of advice is to Google the variety you have and look up the care needs. Most succs like bright light and only need watered when the soil is completely dry. Some need full direct sun and some burn under those conditions. So it's best to look up care for each variety.
This table is a bad idea. It does provide some air flow around the plants but those succulents need more light to do well and if direct sun hit that glass top it could intensify and burn all of those plants.
The fact that they provided no drainage just infuriates me.
@@extrae905 if you are experienced and careful with watering then it can be done without drainage but even the most experienced succ owners over water now and then. It's best to have drainage. This whole video is dumb.
I, for one, like the choice of music. And I appreciate the visual design concept. ☺️
End result looks nice, but what happens when you leave books on the table and block all the sun, do they all die?
They'd probably die anyways.
Imagine if you accidentally knocked that over lmao.... honestly
fake succulents and moss would have worked just as well so you could actually seal the glass to the table so there isn’t that much of a risk/mess if you knocked over the table🤷🏾♀️
How beautiful!
given me some anxiety doing this over a rug/shaggy carpet surface wtf were you thinking?? have fun cleaning up that mess... gotta throw the hole rug away
its called a vacuum, maybe go buy one?
but yeah this is a dumb idea
@@eyesoreist okay but you do realize it's on a white/pale carpet/rug right?... even with a vaccum chances are that dirt has been pressed into the fibers in turn staining them. and yeah you can get a rug doctor but like i said "have fun cleaning up that mess.... gotta throw the whole rug away" because that rug was probably worth less than getting a rug doctor to clean it.
@@eyesoreist magnet.
Eyyy that’s pretty nice
i loveeeee this!
So I have some tips of how to make the succulents live in that table you should drill some holes at the bottom of your table and then attached a tray at the bottom that will catch the excess water bada bing bada boom, it might be better for the succulents but you also want to move it a better lighting to make sure they all have the right needs for photosynthesis
Oh this rocks!
Creative nice idea
Wow.so beautiful 😍😍😍😘
*Who else absolutly loves these diys?* 🥰👌🏼
Love from another diy youtuber✂️
I barely see any DIYs on your channel.
Beautiful
Thankyou very creative
What happens when the succulents grow? Are you gonna get regular replacements?
They probably wouldn't grow, they would most likely die. They need a shit ton of sun, and they need water too
The plants will die in a few days because of trapped moisture which will raise the humidity causing root rot. The glass also acts a bit like a magnifying sun and will fry the leaves of the plants. Succulents are not terrarium plants, they should've used ferns and other humidity-friendly plants instead.
Really nice! 👍🏻
I don’t think that is drained well enough and the soil needs to be mixed with sand right?
Wow that is cool
ほんとにすごいと思います!!
でも絨毯の上で作業してるので削りカスが気になります!!!
でもすごいと思います!!
Love this Idea except there can be issues. If you have kid(s) or pet(s) or just clumsy as hell (cough cough like me) it would be a pain to clean up the mess. I would also note it is a saftety hazard to unattended kid(s) or pet(s) bc of choking hazards or etc.
This is how I would mod this idea which will be time consuming. I would use styrofoam as a base then place craft felt to map out what you want or to help fill in the gaps once you add your faux plants or etc.
I would wrap floral wire to the faux Succulent plants to stick it onto the styrofoam. For the mini fairy garden decor I would get the ones that has a prong/stick that you can poke the decor into the styfoam. I would not add soil/fine powdery sand at all. If you get bored you can pullout the decor that is attach to the styrofoam since it is not glued on. Once you have to decorated you can place the tempered glass on top. I do not know how to anchor the tempered glass top but just simply putting it on the way the did it on the video.
All in all its a cute idea. Moding it can be time consuming as well as you price point. You can mod it any way you want but do know it is a saftety hazard to unattended kid(s) or pet(s) bc of choking hazard/etc.
Imagine having to water your coffee table.
Legit I thought you icon was a piece of hair on my phone 😂
Yay you killed a bunch of plants 👍👌
Ah ouaiiiiis pas mal du tout !!! 😍
Ameiiiii ♥️ amei 🥰🥰💞💞💞💞
Imagine bumping into this
No kids and no pets could possibly live around this. Dont get me wrong it's super cute but realistically? It's going to get knocked over a lot!
protip: see everything they do in this video? do the opposite.
I also enjoy metal shavings in my plush carpet
Why?
Awesome
I haven't watched the video with music but because I read the comments I have now the nutcracker music stuck in my head !!!
Getting custom cut tempered glass isn't cheap
you could use acrilic.
but i don't think this is a good idea for inside. the plants need lots of sun. & probably a better drainage system.
Nice.
I wish the top could screw on and off so you can water it but it also wouldn't fall off if you accidentally bumped into it
Maybe you could use velcrow on the metal parts. or fake plants
Use fake plants. Real ones would die anyways.
Then How do we water them???
So that glass is just balancing on little rubber bumpers? Okay goodluck
Totally gorgeous idea but use FAKE PLANTS DAMN IT
Brilliant, metal shavings in carpet!
Thats why you use vacumn cleaners
Metal shavings...carpet.. goog idea.
WOMAN, YOU ARE THE BEST! DRILLING WITH METAL SHARDS AND FILINGS ON THIS RUG!! WELL DONE!!!
What dumb move, way to put metal shavings in the rug.
I thought she was going to drill through the floor..
Vacumn cleaner?
@@debibarrington8348 magnet
The idea of this being done on carpet makes me want to be on standby with a vacuum.
Please make a diy dressing table please
People who don't have kids, pets, or any idea how to take care of succulents: Oh wow!
where can you purchase the table?
Was gonna make a carpet comment, but everyone else already did.
Schön die ganzen Metallspähne im Teppich, jawoll.
Ding! Fantastic idea! So easy.. Good pet protection also. Thank you 🙂
Only if you use fake plants, those specific plants will die in such conditions.
Yeah lots of problems with this project but still wonder what table they used and where to get the glass top. I would do something a little different
Omg first well 13th but I have never been below 1k
Wow....😍
Good
Then when it falls on the carpet
*oopss*
🤗
What a mess it would be if someone knocked it over
Yeah my coffee table gets knocked over all the time
This is such a good idea!!
Lol what a meme. The music choice is awful.
The idea is pretty but I'm curious to see long term care.
As a plant mom, this is a bad idea unless you’re putting that table nearby an area that’s getting a lot of light. Succulents need at least 6 hours of sunlight to thrive. Otherwise, they will get leggy and some will die off. Beautiful idea but make sure you tell your viewers that these succulents need sunlight or it needs to be in a bright indirect light to thrive. If you can’t provide this condition, use fake succulents.
Shell learn as we all do
Lol when a sugar loaded kid knocks it over. Good times.
Tacky
Wow that’s so amazing, a plant that can give to shits about sublight
A primeira noite eu ia meter o pé nisso q ia voar longe hahaha
Imagine accidentally knocking the table over 💀
C'est magnifique. Mais comment entretenir cette œuvre.
I want to do this to my coffee table that the center piece fell out of but I’m going to get fake ones. My living room doesn’t get enough light for them to get the proper amount.
Nice metal shavings in the rug...
Is that water tight or will water leak out of the holes you drilled
Imagine knocking that table over
Is it bumped proof?
oh there is so much wrong w this video I CAN'T. ok.
1. use pebbles first, then charcoal. Personally, I like to use smaller ones when handling smallish succulents.
2. there's room for air, sure, a wee bit of air. I'd be terrified to have my succulents under glass.
3. So uhh.. you planned on putting it in a sunny spot? Or what's the deal? Cause at one point there are books on the table and uuhhhhh.. that's gonna kill the plants.
4. I'll just assume that you aren't as clumsy as me and have no large dogs or whatever that could bump into the table.
It's cute and pretty and all but there are so many cool ways to make succulent arrangements fit for the plant and this just ain't it.
But if you really desperately want a table with real plants in it DO NOT CHOOSE SUCCULENTS. There's this channel called SerpaDesign and he makes insane Terrariums with lots of info about what plants he uses, etc.
Also why is the nutcracker playing in the background lmao
😂😂metal shavings in the carpet what a ding dong!!!!
Blaze 🔔👍🏻
Ameiiiiiiiiiii a música 🥰 pode me passar o nome pf obrigada❤️
The Nutcracker it's a holiday favorite in the U.S.A 🇺🇸
can someone tell me the name of both music pieces? I know they are Xmas but idk what the name is
Terrible video. Wrong kind of soil for succulents. You have to use cactus soil for succulents. Not enough light for succulents & it needs drainage or a much deeper growing vessel. It should be put in a area with sun & no traffic that would knock it over
My succulents are fine in normal soil.
But i don't think planting them like this is a good idea. They don't really have room to grow correctly. & it should have somewhere for the water to drain.
I think they will never carry around this coffee table 😂
This music isn't Tchaikovsky's nutcracker is it...? Nothing like Christmas in June....
I think using fake succulents would be better, since they need to be taken care of.
Could make a fish tank as well out of it ?
WHERE DO I FIND A TABLE LIKE THIS
Where can i find this table ?
Did the meatal shaving ever come out of the carpet
