I was actually recently in this situation lol I was eyeing up a 2022 platinum power boost but ended up taking the 2023 fully loaded lariat with the regular 3.5 lol The crazy part was the lariat was actually a little more than the Platinum which was mind boggling to me. However, I just love the lariat I got the sport package in the area 51 color and I'm definitely the minority but I just like the basic two tone look in the interior compared to the platinum being labeled everywhere. Also have the moon roof and unleashed system. Couldnt be happier. Don't regret passing up the platinum lol
One cool feature with the power tailgate like both of those trucks have is that you don't have to reach under them to hit the button to raise it. You just have to put your knee under it and raise it a couple inches and it senses that and the electric motor takes over and closes it the rest of the way. Or you can use the key fob.
When you make future videos, I'd recommend you take an additional moment after you look under the hood to plainly say "This one has more horsepower, and more torque than the other one." You're rattling of those stats so fast, it's hard to know how they actually compare. Remember, comparison editorial can be simplified to a "This one is more than that one" and it will help us better follow along.
Just got a 23 lariat high package sport power boost. Options I don't have are the assist tailgate or step wouldn't mind that. No moonroof didn't want it. No heated steering wheel that was a bummer. Seats in my 2011 lariat FX2 are a lot more comfortable My wife hates the seats and the new one because of that Little Red stripe sticks out and digs under her side and legs. The 18 speaker sound system sounds okay but lacking bass even turn all the way up. The only thing I really want from a platinum is the grill.
Always appreciate your reviews. A few questions Any idea when the heated steering wheel and more importantly the multi contour massaging seats will become available again? I assume it's a chip shortage thing, but I've heard nothing about what if anything they are doing about that. And do you know what the minimum road clearance is for the Platinum, and if and what it may increase to by adding the fx4 package? And lastly, do you know what about the trucks determines that payload difference, 1500 for Lariat, 1200 for Platinum, and can that be increased with mods? Thanks. PS I'd love to see an XLT vs Platinum comparison too.
My 22 Lariat Powerboost MSRP was $72K but the same truck for 2023 has an MSRP of $78K (without my heated steering and Active Park Assist), so bump the Platinum up $6000 for 2023 and you are suddenly looking at an $8000 difference between those trucks if they are both 2023 models..
I personally don't like the brown accents in the lariat so I'd choose platinum but only with the black out package because I also don't like the silver accents on the outside
Nice trucks. $80K, better off with a F250 TBH. Crazy expensive for both, the platinum is definitely nicer though. Personally like the look of the Tremor over either of these, with the more off-road look and capabilities and less costly
Ben it’s just the platinum people look at you different your employees if your a contractor or a person at the supply house because they look at you like your not a working man like your a pencil pusher only who doesn’t know how to use a shovel
Because the back tailgate on the platinum is the ugliest thing in the world. Lariat all the way. Load it up and you get all that leather on the door. And it’s about 2grand cheaper.
I know what they have in common. Way too expensive
For reals😂
I’m there it is
Ford always expensive
or ur just broke l lol
The chrome hate is crazy 😂
Wow the platinum Leather interior is stunning

Lariat trim is the sweet sport.
Fully loaded lariat is the best bang for buck
no heated steering wheel 🤣
Did you thought about the tremor?
I got a loaded Lariat. The chrome is crazy on the platinum.
$77,000 lariat and $79,000 platinum!!? Holy cow!! o_O
Consumer Reports says the F-150 3.5L Powerboast is the third worst vehicle to buy.

The fact that they are charging 15k more than a couple years ago and took away options if crazy
All vehicles from any dealership have at least a 2500.oo markup regardless of what they tell you new vehicles have a 30 to 35 percent profit margin .
Insane cars Ben !!

How much is your base price? Ford has good incentives, so base price may be similar
How are the 23 Temor 402A leather seats comfort vs the Platinum?
I personally don't like the brown accents in the lariat so I'd choose platinum but only with the black out package because I also don't like the silver accents on the outside
You can do black appearance on lariat and get black leather lol
@@JohnNichols566 you still end up with less comfortable seats though
@@Dreyden12274 if you can afford the platinum more power to you bud lol
@@Dreyden12274 you're not supposed to live in your truck

I'll take an XLT Sport 5.0 V8
Seems as though the seat comfort was noticeably comfortable in the Platinum over the Lariat?
platinum all day
I love the king ranch interior and it's way better than the platinum. I'd personally go with the ranch than these 2 lol
Can you do a video on the platinum vs limit
Already filmed😮💨🤝
@@BenHardyCars good deal thank you
@@BenHardyCars what about the top trim line ram 1500 vs f150
Slow down man.
Can you do Lariat vs a Tremor?
Tremors are impossible to get a hold of right now
there's one at a dealership down the street where i live
I hate the platinum tailgate also not a fan of all the platinum logos in the interior just looks over the top to me.
The Lariat comes with the v8 choice. The platinum and limited only have the v6 option
Platinum you can still get in a v8
Please slow down so I can understand you. I'm old.
Neither the Newest I'd get is a 2019 with all the problems "covid" produced vehicles coming up.
Where's the 5.0 Coyote?
Powerboost without 7.2Kw? Why?
I know...doesn't make any sense but a dealer near me has six powerboosts on the lot and 4 on order/in transit and none have the 7.2KW generator.
Would rather just get a base trx at msrp, don't care about leather seats or any of the useless gismos these new vehicles come with.
Ben it’s just the platinum people look at you different your employees if your a contractor or a person at the supply house because they look at you like your not a working man like your a pencil pusher only who doesn’t know how to use a shovel
total bs they don't have massaging seats, that's an option that would make me wait until 24
Neither. Both companies can go kick rocks as long as they continue with this bull 💩 “market adjustment” handwritten price manipulation
Ya I’ll keep my TRX all day long ! Look at the interior of a RAM compared to this cheap stuff?
Way overpriced. Don’t buy any even at msrp. Not worth it.
Because the back tailgate on the platinum is the ugliest thing in the world. Lariat all the way. Load it up and you get all that leather on the door. And it’s about 2grand cheaper.
Expensive good looking pieces of junk.
Yep! if only Toyota made a 1 ton but they don’t so i must choose the best junk😂
