Thank you so much for posting. My 2007 Honda Accord center console armrest cover needed replacing. It was worn out and dirty. I purchased a new leatherette cover but couldn't figure out how to separate the two pieces. Your video answered my question. Thank you.
you're a fricken GENIUS. I used these plastic black shims I got at Home Depot, didn't work all that great, Buuuut..... they did work (7" long). Unfortunately for me, I ended up breaking those 2 tiny plastic catches. Oh well, at least I won't have to do THIS again. Thanks for posting this.
I found that if I used a long thin flat-head screw driver and slipped it between the two groves of the lid, it released. Groves clearly seen on lid after 1:17 time mark.
Thank you so much. Managed to separate the parts after several tries. I used 2x 12-inch metal rulers to be sure - One to each side. Works perfectly for Accord Euro-R CL7R. The alcantara fabric would accumulate dead skin cells over time and hence I need to wash it on a bi-yearly basis.
What are the two clips next to the pen holder supposed to store? I'm assuming business cards or folded cash or something like that but I can't find any info that actually states what they are meant to do and I don't want to risk my things falling inside if I am assuming incorrectly!
I have a 2009 Honda Civic( similar type of slid lid) It looks like I can take off in car just replacing the cover lid .Can you tell me the size of plastic strip? The lid has been sitting in my back seat for about 6 months there are two screws that I can't get screwdriver over to unscrew so this looks like this is what I need to do?
this works when your piece is in between, pull up a little and works like a charm. i used a cut up license plate to wedge in between. broken one took a few replays, second one came off the first try
hi, if I try to buy arm rest lock, the 2 pieces plastic in front end of the arm rest of the part you are showing. if you know any link to buy that part please share to me. I do appreciate.
Good video but there's no need for a tool. I just removed mine to replace the cover. Slide a small blade or thin piece of metal between the armrest and the slider. Just gently pop the right or left side upward and you'll see it move up. Then just slide it off. Removal in 30 seconds.
For those of you who dont have a 3d printer a thin plastic ruler will do the job
Thank you for this invaluable video. After trying various devices, the side of a plastic milk jug worked just right.
Took a few tries, but I got it with a small plastic trim tool! Thanks much!
Would have never figured this out, thanks for the video!
Verified method for 07 Accord sedan. Used a 7" metal ruler. Thanks for the helpful video!
VERY Helpful video.. Thank you... do you sell that tool? I have not been able to find anything that will work
Daaaang!!! Mahalo nui loa!!! Been trying for about 40 minutes already, but now i know!!😂😂

That was awesome thank you! I cut out a flat plastic piece from a Fiji water bottle. Took a little fidgeting around but it worked.
I used the back of a metal fork. I didn't break anything and it was quite easy! Thanks for the video, time saved.

Thank you. I would've never figured that out without breaking it first.
Thank you! I used a flathead screw driver and just pulled up and that dislodged them. I couldn’t figure out what the problem was
Slipped in a hacksaw blade. Didn’t work until I pulled up hard on the padded armrest as I was pulling it out.
Real g bro I finally got the old crusty one off and re apolstered it very easy just used a hot glue gun looking mint now thanks to you
I used a metal Tsquare and it worked great thank you I would’ve never figure this out. I suppose you could also use a metal ruler too.

Appreciate the video, I found a thin plastic scraper that worked perfectly. Doubt I would have figured it out on my own.
I used a piece of plastic from a gallon milk jug. Just cut a piece out similar to what you see here and off it came. You do have to play with it tho.
Thank you . this was helpful.
You are welcome, glad it could be of help.
Thank you very very much for this video. brilliant!! I almost broke it before I found your video. You're a Legend... Nice one......

Thank you! I used a trim tool from Harbor Freight.
Your video worked like a charm. Thank you!

Thanks! Got mine out with a small strip of sheet metal.
Thank you for posting this video it was a great help.
Where can I find the pink tool you used
Very helpful video
Thankyou 👍
Can't open
That's the part I need. Black. Latching clip is broken.
Have a part #?.great vid
Sorry don't know that part number. But I hear a new one can be kind of pricey. Check a junk yard nearby first probably.
Found the "locks" tabs in one of the hondaparts list. A few bucks each. Now it closes! Thanks
I don't have to buy the whole assembly.....
👍👍👍👍👍
how much for the tool?
You can just make one out of some thin strong cardboard or plastic. I went overkill printing one.
Good video but there's no need for a tool. I just removed mine to replace the cover. Slide a small blade or thin piece of metal between the armrest and the slider. Just gently pop the right or left side upward and you'll see it move up. Then just slide it off. Removal in 30 seconds.
You sure say don't need tool.. Don't bullshit
Saved me a lot of grief. Thank you! 💯
