Yeah it happens. That guys or girls story was extreme (due to how much they were making ) but theres something to be said for being happy. Its especially believable if the person in question has saved up a decent amount of money. But yeah depending on finances and if they have a spouse making decent money there will alwsys be people willing to sacrifice a larger income in order to not hate their life. Not to mention that studies have proven that once a person makes enough money that they dont have to worry about finances, any additional income doesnt add more to the quality of life. Aka the person doesnt get exponentially happier.

One time about 12 years ago I was leaving a nightclub with friends when a guy came running up to me and took a huge swing at my face. Me, the black belt in origami that I am, was ready and put myself into a protective stance that would allow me to counter the attack with ease. He identified this and stopped short of my face and walked away. He was laughing and telling his friends that I flinched and yelped "please no", but what really happened was I owned him with my stance and the words he actually heard were "prepare to die". I went home with his impressed girlfriend whom I impregnated.

Honestly, as someone who was homeless in the past, sometimes beer or somesuch is more important to people. The sleeping outside, the constant hunger, the fear of violence... all of that is secondary to waking up each day, knowing without a doubt that no one, no where, cares whether you live or die. It... scars you. Changes you. Add to that the pressures and issues that drove them to be homeless in the first place, and... an escape, even if it's only temporary, even if it's unhealthy like drugs and alcohol... it's the only real coping mechanism left to some folks. They're not homeless because they're drunks or addicts, they become drunks or addicts because they're homeless. If nothing else, just... nod as you pass by. Don't pretend that you don't see them. Like they don't even exist. Sometimes that alone can be enough.

@@wardenm I hope you are doing well nowadays, thank you for sharing your story & insight - very important for ppl to read! Homelessness is an awful, terrible, sad, scary situation. my fiance was homeless for ~2 years on the scary, rough streets of Chicago & even now, over 6 years later he still has residual PTSD issues that I notice. He got shot in the leg & almost bled out when he was in the wrong place at the wrong time & found himself in the crossfire of a drive by shooting - it missed his femoral artery/ vein by mere inches. He witnessed a woman holding her baby both get shot to death in a public park mere feet away from him another time. He's been robbed of the only possessions he had at gunpoint for no real reason. Tons of other terrifying, sad, dehumanizing stuff. He didn't sleep more than 30-45min for nearly 3 years after getting off the streets. Seeing homeless ppl around (we're in a sunny warm state now) makes him tear up & pull out his wallet - he says he couldn't care less about what anyone does with the money he gives them bc as you said, sometimes drugs or alcohol or cigarettes are the only comfort or escape some have. He says it changed him & scarred him as well. I've seen it firsthand & have even more empathy than I did before. I spent a few months homeless as a teenager but ended up reconciling with my family who took me back in. Some of the most awful things in my life happened during those times but helped me grow into the person I am today. My fiance is the strongest, kindest, most amazing man I've ever met despite going through some of the most terrible things I've ever heard of happening to a human being. Sending you strength, kindness & wishes of true security for you.

I had a weird experience once. During one of my engineering science exams, one of the questions was to write down a particularly long definition. Being somewhere on the autistic spectrum, I wrote down the entire definition, literally word for word, as it was printed in the book. Having finished long before the time ran out, you would be allowed to leave your papers on your desk, and go outside. The professor started marking my paper while I was outside.
Next thing I know, he comes outside, walks up to me, and very angrily tells me to follow him. I was like, wtf is happening?!? Did I do something wrong?!? He marched me straight into the principal's office, and started accusing me of cheating in the exam. The principal also tears into me, telling me how bad it is to cheat, and that it is grounds for expulsion, bla bla bla. I was like completely in shock, not having a clue what they were talking about, thinking maybe someone did something to my papers once I left or something.
Eventually I managed to get a word in edgeways, and told them I did not cheat, and asked them why tf they would accuse me of doing so. The professor then held up my paper, and told me that I was not only stupid enough to cheat in his exam, but that I was even so stupid as to copy the entire definition from the book, word for word!!
I was just like, yea? So what? That's what's in the book, so that's what I wrote down!! Te professor then smugly tells me that if I wrote that entire definition down without cheating, then I shouldn't have a problem to recite it here and now. So I started doing just that, with them following along, one with my paper, and the other with the book. At the end they were both just quiet, and then the principal gave the professor a weird look, and then told me it's okay, I can leave.
Nobody ever apologized, or even clapped. I did pass the exam with a distinction though, which was nice.

As a teenager that did Brazilian jiu jitsu and kickboxing for three years, that MMA story about the guy dislocating the other guys shoulder doesn’t seem totally untrue. He’s right. When somebody taps you let go. It’s easy throw somebody over your own head/back with that level of experience. Heck I’ve done it before and I’ve only been doing it for three years and only weigh 90 pounds. And you can dislocate somebody’s shoulder by doing an arm bar or even break their arm. So if you were to educate yourself about the topic, then the story wouldn’t seem so untrue. I’m not saying that’s the story was totally true/accurate but it could happen.

Why are you calling the PS5 persona liar?, Honestly there aren't enough games for people to transition so I am sticking with my PS4 waiting for the PS5, and using my money for better things!!

My sixteen year old nephew just got me to buy him some version of a PS4 in November. I asked him why not a PS5 considering this one cost me $468 and he said basically because he doesn't buy game systems when they're new and because there aren't enough games.

@@raecooper2719 Also a system that's been just released will be buggy as hell. With electronics always wait until it has a few patches on it (at least a few months, I usually wait at least 6 months or longer) before purchasing.

@@raecooper2719 That is what I am saying I love Charlotte, but I think because I am a guy, that there is this idea that we must be animalistic. I am a teacher and out my students first and family, not a PS5.
