Great video ;-) I monetised my Crochet Channel in October 2024 after starting late March. Not only have I built an amazing community, having extra money to put into the mortgage (or do whatever I want with) has been SO GOOD! Like you said, give yourself permission to start, even if you aren't great at it to begin with. I procrastinated for at least 18 months before starting and it's the best thing I've ever done! I taught myself along the way to edit etc and still use my iphone to record my content. All the best with your shop! How exciting :)

Absolutely! It’s such a weirdly taboo topic! But I think it’s important for people to know what a small channel makes so they can have realistic expectations if they want to start their own! Stuff that I wish I had seen before I started! Glad u enjoyed it lovely!!
@@lazy_daisycreations it is not about knowing the ins and outs of the financial situation of a business but as you said - the things no one tells you. This has been the first year that I have tracked our income and expenditure and it was truly surprising to see where our income derived from. At this stage we are running at a loss but I guess you have to expect that in setup costs. It hasn’t deterred us but we have set new goals for the next 6 months and perhaps UA-cam may have to have some serious consideration! It may be the difference between a profit and a loss! Thanks again.
yes absolutely! no one owes anyone anything, but I just think keeping it real and transparent is important to give a realistic view of what its really like! Absolutely, I get what you mean! and it can happen at any time in your business, for me last year was the worse one in terms of income, but it was good because it "forced" me to look into other possibilities that I may not thought possible before! I definitely think you should start! and don't put too much pressure into it, just do it badly at the start so you can learn and become better!

It’s fab that you got monetised! I think anything you earn from it is better than nothing. I think Sculpy (or the brand you use) should do a paid partnership with you as you use lots of clay. I did start a channel last year. I did a few videos but having lots done to my house over the second half of the year etc meant it slipped by the wayside. I’m definitely going to be making more videos this year though. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve done with the shop soon ❤

Wow that would be a DREAM partnership 😍😍😍 let’s hope we can manifest that for 2025 😂😂 I completely get you, it’s SO hard to stay on top of it, especially because you’re the only one keeping yourself accountable and at the start when your effort doesn’t yet match the outcome but for me it helped when I started diversifying the type of videos I was making so there wasn’t so much pressure to always have a content heavy video every week! Helps to keep consistent 🥰🥰

I have to say tho I did have one video that kind of blew up and outperformed all others I think in Feb so I think that was a bit reason for ticking those boxes earlier but it wasn’t anything planned at all! I also got monetized in 2024. I earn about the same a month as well and my subs have grown to about 2K. I think that's why UA-cam's minimum payout is what it is, at least in the US. It's about what you can expect to make in a month if you have the minimum sub and watch hour requirement. Now you might make less if your channel doesn't do as well or your niche pays less. You may also make more if your growth is fast or your niche is a better paying one.

We hear so much about huge channels that blow up and not enough about the slow and steady growers! Like I had no idea for example how much to expect!
