If you doing it by own hands you get feeling 😜 of victory ✌️. You get self confidence and self assurance. If you go to repair station you avoid challenges and not develop own mechanic skills! If you know how your car works you get independence from your dealer (they want to milk you all the time)!
If something wrong happens during the trip you will able to repair car by own hands.
Not give up 😭 not even try.
A lot of good mechanics are but more better to be independent. One big disclaimer if you like it.

Mechanical competency and mastery is good for the brain, good for the hands...and also very good for the emotions. Patience, perseverance, humility, mild temper, caution and bravery - all come with time, but machines teach us these qualities by being so impervious to the opposite emotions - impatience, hurriedness, impulsivity, anger, fear etc. Also, skills and abilities such as intuition, awareness (what's that noise? that smell? that drop of oil?) . I think that is why we appreciate machines that are approachable. When you are toodling down the road in your own work - nothing beats it.😁
