Can't praise this mod highly enough, it turns _Pathfinder: Kingmaker_ into _Temple of Elemental Evil_ on steroids, with better graphics. For me, anyway, this is definitely how these CRPGs based on D&D type rules should be played - at least, when it comes to difficult bits of combat. The nice thing is that you have the option to easily switch it on and off mid-game, so you can plow through trash mobs in a light-hearted, "wind 'em up and watch 'em go" way using RTWP as the developers intended, then get into the really meaty turn-based combat for difficult encounters and boss encounters, settle down with a nice cup of coffee and a snack, and ponder your every option in depth, where every + or -1 stat in your build, every single option you have, counts (well, bar game bugs, abilities not working, etc. :) ). One of the very best mods ever made for _any_ game, period, and it really "completes" _Pathfinder._ With this and a few of the other mods for this game on Nexus (like Bag of Tricks), _Pathfinder_ becomes a really absorbing, addictive experience with an incredible amount of flexibility to tailor the game to how you like it. I hope Owlcat keep churning out content for the game, or perhaps at some stage provide tools to make it possible to build your own levels and campaigns, because with this mod, the game's a keeper for a long time to come.
If bag of tricks adds the crafting feats back in, yeah i agree. The game BADLY needed the ability to craft the weapons and armors the devs under represented in the game.
exactly. i usually am somewhat apprehensive about CRPGs because it gets to hectic and clutered and i think this optional turnbased system combines the best of both worlds so it is neither tedious nor frantic.
I think the reason why i like this so much is because it sort of feels like playing an actual D&D turn based tabletop game rather than rapidly choosing different abilities/spells in the middle of getting clobbered by enemies. It feels familiar and that's sort of what i'm wanting out of a game like this instead of rushing through it like most would do. Idk, just seems like every encounter matters and every character has a purpose lol The pause and real-time features are great to an extent don't get me wrong, but they can only do so much for certain things in my opinion.
Maybe you jus don't like crpgs. There is a reason why companies don't make games like these anymore. The game was made for ppl who wanted to relive the infinity engine days (real time with pause) not casuals who didn't like that concept it the first place.
@@RPGCommunityCollege Yeah camera rotation (now part of Bag of Tricks) is pretty much essential with _Proper Flanking,_ as well as the zoom mod (again, part of BoT now) because with fixed isometric, unless you pre-adapt the position of your _first_ character to the fixed isometric view, to take into account potential difficulties in getting your cursor on the ground on the opposite side of the mob with your second character, you sometimes can't pin-point with your cursor on the ground exactly where you want your second character to be for proper flanking (for those who don't know, your characters have to be on directly opposite sides of a mob for proper flanking, as if you drew a line through the mob from one of your characters to the other), whereas with those mods you can position both of your characters from anywhere in 360 degrees around the mob with pin-point accuracy, and it's a pleasurable experience rather than a frustrating one, because you don't have to always adapt to the tyranny of the fixed isometric view.
Thank you very much for the video, had not heard of that mod before. The mod seems very interesting, especially for wizards. I hope your already good quality videos will get more attention. I gladly enrolled 🎓😉
FYI: To bypass the problems with the Unity Mod Manager in Windows 10 when you're game is installed in the Program Files (x86) folder (where it is installed by default), you'll need to run the Mod Manger with administrator rights. To do this, right click on the UnityModManager.exe file, and select "Run As Administrator" (presumably you already have administrator rights on your own computer). You can also set the manager to always run with administrator rights by selecting the Properties option (on the right-click menu), select the Compatibility tab, then in the Settings group enable the "Run As Administrator" option.
Good news is 'Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous' will include a turn-based combat option, inspired by this mod! Owlcat Games have given a very positive response to this popular mod.
Thank you so much. I saw a thing on twitter today with someone showing something unrelated, but they had this installed and so a quick google search got me here. Thank you so much, I much more enjoy turn based combat, the mobbing of everyone is not quite my style.
I am generally not a fan of turn based gameplay, as it is generally too slow. However the speed of this mode in addition to its toggle-ability and how well made it is makes this look very interesting. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I love TB-games. Pillars of Eternity II I play a lot simply because they added TB. I grew up with real time w/ pause al la BG IWD etc. but as I get older I really enjoy taking my time, I also think it brings an entirely new layer of strategy and party comps. Reinstalling pathfinder now as I barely played it lol, maybe this will actually make me beat the game.
Just installed the game and decided to look into any mods that could improve my experience - Oh My God - this mod is exactly what I was looking for - I only played for around 30 minutes and I found myself lost in big battles when using real-time combat. This mod is amazing!
delay is extremely good for melee inquisitor. With good wisdom, you should be able to roll high initiative, but unless you want to buff/cast intra combat, you want to attack after your barbarian or fighter or paladin or monk because you have lots of team feats that any other class don't get.
Yea it is well made. I hope owlcat does something similar with there next pathfinder game. I really like the epic cinematic feel of RTWP especially in the bigger battle's. But the slower more strategic feeling turn based brings really lets all of the games mechanics shine.
Absolutely!!! When i'm not making videos or playing games, I'm refreshing larian studios youtube page for new BG3 info, i have not slept in weeks. Send help. Also if you mean pathfinder 2 the videogame yes i will. I do know that paizo did just release Pathfinder 2nd edition but i will not be covering that on the channel.
For the longest time, playing as a spellcaster in games such as this always made me wish for those moments where I can both play my class well AND enjoy the visual aspects of seeing powerful spells unleashed on enemies without constantly taking weapons to the face. So, I gave this mod a try, and immediately my love for the game skyrocketed. The mod maker really gave us something amazing to make an excellent game even better.
The game now has turn based but still has issues with its main menus, at character creation if you go back and forth eventually it will break )) Also my Esc key sometimes stops working, it works again if I exit the game entirely and start it again. I've completed the game twice as well as the Varnhold DLC and while I had to drop to story mode on my first playthrough, I used challenging on my second and with Varnhold. I found the game super engaging and fun. The story is fantastic. It takes a lot of learning and understanding to play "properly" and you get to appreciate the gameplay.
thanks for this.. been playing it for awhile and just decided that the game is better with this mod. Without the mod it feels like the other party members mainly the casters feel like more of a danger to the party rather than the mobs of enemies due to AOE damage.
I get that while the number of combat encounters was designed for real time combat in mind, the ability to toggle it on or off means it shouldn't matter. They should include this kind of feature in the next game.
Hello Thank you for the info. I have a couple of Mods working fine but I can't seem to get Turn Base working. Unity Mod Manager indicates red button (needs Restart) and in log states target class not specified. any help with this one? Thanks...
Is ther a mod to fix bloted monster attributes? Like wolves have 150 hps (not around 13) a to hit +12 (instead of +2) and hit like trucks. And all enemies are bloated like that.
I've always been for real time with pausing type of guy, as it's more realistic (except for the pausing of course), but thought I would give this mod a try as I've just bought the game and found it hard to follow the realtime part of it compared to Pillars. Many thanks for showing this and how to install it. To Use it do I have to make sure that the mod manage is running first, or can I just now run the game without running the mod manager?
My ctorl+f10 does not work and i installed the game in game folder C: program like you. I manual installed the files and dragged it over and still nothing

Some people have permission's issue's some don't.
