a badge...a six gun...and two fists...keeps law and order in Dodge City, Kansas......Dillon, Chester, Doc, and Miss Kitty.....the BEST WESTERN...ever to pop out of the tube
Harold J Stone was a great character actor, as many know. What you don't know is that he once played golf in a foursome with my Dad at Brookhaven Country Club is Dallas. My Dad told me that he told Harold that he was a great actor, and pretty much stole every scene he was ever in. I don't know how good his golf game was though.
I LOVE the way they portrayed a whole fight with one punch, a few grunts, and some sound effects and music. These days, if they don't have lights, special effects and at least one explosion it's considered boring.
I love it when gunslingers think they can outgun or outwit Matt Dillon. Usually Matt will shoot the villain, but sometimes Matt just has to use his fists to knock sense into a smart aleck like Joe Dublow (hope I spelled that right). Glorious, raw violence! That's what rules the Old West, yessirree by golly!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Reminds me of the old days when I attended junior and senior high school. When two young men didn't get along along, they got it on. Right after school at a well known place (ours was pepper park --- a grassy area bordered by stately pepper trees) and met mano a mano. No guns or knives. Fists did the talking. Bare knuckle. Most generally after the fight, cut lips, bruised knuckles, torn shirts and dusty Levi's and hair --- two combatants became friends. If over a girl, she became forgotten.
The great character actor Harold Stone tries to make a pest of himself and succeeds. You can see Harold Stone playing in a number of fine parts such as a sports reporter in Humphrey Bogart’s final film “The Harder They Fall” and as Rocky Grazino’s father in “Somebody Up There Likes Me” with Paul Newman in the title role.
Yes!!!!!** I Remember This Episode. "Hands On Education" Was The Perfect Title Phrase For This Fight Scene!!!!!** Marshal Dillon "Fist Blows" Were "Devastating" To This Gunfighter!!!!!** I Can Watch This Fight Scene Over And Over Again.** Marshal Dillon Gave Him A "Dillon" "Spanking" Western Style!!!!!** "KUDOS!!!!!"**
This Episode, "Hands On Education"** Is A Great "Western Saga" That Let Us Know That Being A "Bully" Will Get You "Bullied" In The End, By: A "Tormented" "Lesson!!!!!" In This Episode, Marshal Dillon Was "The Teacher"**And Joe Delk Was "The Student!!!!!"**
I just watched this episode about a week ago, Legally back then Matt couldn't arrest him but putting a beatdown on him was much more satisfying because it changed him forever, He was no longer the man he was when he arrived in Dodge.
OKAY, the gunman started it all and goaded the younger brother into it, OF COURSE, and then he FOOLISHLY fell into his trap, well, he must have known that the guy was a professional gunman...Miss Kitty rushes over to his older brother and the protective, loving, and caring older brother, along with Miss Kitty, JUST STAND THERE, I mean, at least say SOMETHING, don't do it, stop...HEY, cause SOME distraction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kitty needs a little Derringer pistol hidden away for these "hogwallow men problems." All of Kitty's bargirls should have had Derringers hidden away for "hogwallow men problems." The bar keeper could also help out with a sawed off shotgun, a Derringer or cut off revolver with a shortened barrel or specially made snub nose revolver for "hogwallow men problems." It is the gun you don't see that shoots you from the blindside that always kills you. It would seem to me in a wild place like Dodge, a Derringer or a hidden sawed off shotgun, would have made many "hogwallow men problems" peaceful as a cemetery grave.
John Anderson was tall, lean, short blonde curly hair with a laconic voice and style. He was everywhere in 1950's to 1970's TV westerns. Bad guys were a specialty. He usually played an as intelligent villian.
@Glen Coco man will never get tired of killing one another, in those days and in 2020,look at the hate in our world now . it's truly sad and I feel for the souls that we're lost ! GOD BLESS you
This was one of the best episodes
I love GunSmoke still watch it
Love Gunsmoke watch it all the time on 20 years and love the characters ❤ ❤❤
It always cracks me up when Matt starts whomping on people.
a badge...a six gun...and two fists...keeps law and order in Dodge City, Kansas......Dillon, Chester, Doc, and Miss Kitty.....the BEST WESTERN...ever to pop out of the tube
And after that beating by Marshall Dillon, Joe Delk loses his nerve and can't gunfight anymore.
loved it when Dillon was either belting people or bitch slapping them more than the gunfights.... 🤣
Same here. I especially enjoy seeing him backhand people. Wish I could find a clip of Matt backhanding Richard X. Slattery in the episode New Society.
I am sadden about the young guys dying
Matt is definitely a badass!!
Heck yes! 😂😂😂
This was awesome. Matt did the one thing this guy didn't expect.

the fight goes on a lot longer, but there aren't any explosions :)
James had shrapnel in his leg from Anzio. It sometimes hurt him to even walk.
WHEN I WAS A YOUNG 👦 BOY GUNSMOKE WAS THE SHOW FOR MY FAMILY'S ON SATURDAY IN SOUTH CAROLINA.
Meanwhile, as Matt opens a can of whoop-ass....
4:25 - Villain: "I don't get this."
Matt's Fist: POW!
Great writing and acting.
And that ladies and gentlemen is how you get things done. .
Marshall Matt Dillion AKA the Dirty Harry of Kansas.
Ms Kitty ...she had the wow factor..
Matt kicked his ass.
"Well then why (don't you) go back to wherever it is where people are afraid of (you)?"
What a great line.

Completely awesome show the best on tv than and today
Early b&w episodes were the BEST! Matt did not play , Dodge City was a better place and safer because of badass sheriff and no frills attatched.
Excuse me Kitty. I've gotta take out the trash...
Justice ,swift and sure.
This episode is "Who Lives by the Sword". I don't know what year its from, but its the 14th episode in the second season.
1956 or 57 I think, I just watched this episode a week ago, one of my favorites.
1957
Omg thank you! I wish ppl would put this in their description
Completely awesome show
matt Dillon , marshall, righteous cop with a brain
Fantasy
Super Slider that’s the op’s point
Harold J Stone as the killer gunman. He'll never beat Matt anyday.
That 2nd shot the brother got was over kill man.

"I don't get this" He got it..
I love Matt ❤
Awesome show 👍.
Luv my Gunsmoke
beat him so hard they couldn't even show it on camera.
And afterwards, I bet he drank 2 cold ones, Steve Austin style.
By the time he recovered his clothes were out of style.😂😂😂

Harold J. Stone was one of the greatest and most versatile character actors, ever; he was a Ler J. Cobb type.
Dave Greene Yes, like Lee J. Cobb, Stone could display anger with the best of them. He definitely brought a lot to his roles.
In a later season he played a good friend of Matt's, winds up getting murdered....
Great movie
Yes!!!!!**

Police need to do that more now.
When matt got pissed watch out
I always wish i had marshall dillons courage.
it's easy when you're a foot taller than any other man in town
Chester was having trouble watching. Yikes
A man handling his business.
I just watched this episode about a week ago, Legally back then Matt couldn't arrest him but putting a beatdown on him was much more satisfying because it changed him forever, He was no longer the man he was when he arrived in Dodge.
That second boy was murdered with the second shot.
Delk was still evil, though.
And Chester actually getting the job done here. Pretty cool!
I wonder who won the fight in the street? lol. My first guess would be Marshal Dillon. lol.
ETrump and fy78th are the top martial arts styles offered
Matt beats him so bad that delk loses his nerve.
Great episode, rich,
with a little twilight zone mixed in!
What episode was it
Yes there is a lot of Twilight zone in the earlier ones!😊
I was in Dodge City yesterday on loop 400.
I never saw The Marshall or Miss Kitty. 🤔
Matt Dillon almost got angry.
“I don’t get this.”
-POW-
Still confused?

Chester !... Better get Doc Adam's !!!
Does anyone have any idea where I can watch this full Episode 34 of Season 2? Episodes of Seasons 2-6 apparently are unavailable for some reason.
I like it when matt Knott the hell out of loud mouths.that the way i do it.
What happened here Kitty? She proceeds to make it sound like it was the young men who started the whole thing.
Joe Delk not only lost his Dodge privileges but can't really show his hamburger face anywhere. Too bad more don't get 'signed' this way these days
What season and episode number is this?
I've always wanted to see the gunslingers forced to fight with no weapons.
Love it
Miss Kitty started Dodge City first escort service.
Be right proud to buy you a drink miss kitty 🐈
Arent they suppose to show dillon kikin the livin hell out of the guy ,,come on
Why can
cops these days be like this today
Miss Kitty was really fine,l dream of holding Her in a long embrace,I bet She smelled of Chanel.
Matt was the best
Glorious 240p
WhenAsA kid mom say get ready shoot the bad guy oh u shot him.
Billykid
Harold J. Stone?
That's what hands on education is
I never did like John Anderson, It was good to see him get a good old fashion Matt Dillon beat down.
Joe Dell was played by veteran character actor Harold J Stone. He played in numerous western and crime/police dramas.
But that isn't what was shown.
That older actor is Harold J. Stone.
John Anderson was tall, lean, short blonde curly hair with a laconic voice and style. He was everywhere in 1950's to 1970's TV westerns. Bad guys were a specialty. He usually played an as intelligent villian.
There’s a black Pete with a tanker setting outside waiting on Chester......
What's the name of that movie ? I saw it years ago
Sandra Taylor duel..
@@Boss-ve8rl thanks
that poor mother, losing 2 sons in one day !!
@Glen Coco man will never get tired of killing one another, in those days and in 2020,look at the hate in our world now . it's truly sad and I feel for the souls that we're lost ! GOD BLESS you
Those boys needed to take a lesson from Michael Corleone and live to fight another day.
It's not personal Sonny, it's strictly business.
It's a tv show , get a life.
Know I am late to the Party. But what was the ending, this was on at work only got to see the first 10 minutes. Did the shithead die in the end ?
You don't see real men on TV anymore.
That's not fair. Marshall Dillon is bigger than him.
ANOTHER VICTIM
Yeah Matt kick his ass good - even that it had bullie and men what take advantage of the good people hmm
Would’ve been funny as sheet if the camera would pan over and Matt was the one getting the beating ! I’m jus’ sayin’ !
Joe Delk rocks
Joe Delk got rocked😁😁😁😁
Police brutality!
Joe Biden....you're next!
X
Very unsatisfying. Coulda been
Matt getting beat up for all we know.
That would be funny if the guy was out there kicking the shit out of Matt
Should see the rest of this episode. Matt pulped him unconscious. Barely let him live.
Matt ain’t never take no ass whopping and you know it 🤣
