What a video, love this. Yuan shu is definitely my favorite character. His resolve and determination against two armies of Cao cao and Lui bei make him ruthless!
Cannot wait for my favorite, Yuan Shao to have his episode as the drama between his sons and court always fascinated me. That and if he and Yuan Shu had been able to put aside their rivalry and work together they very likely could have founded the next Dynasty.
Oh man, an unique Rapid Tiger Cavalry unit would've been so good for Yuan Shu gameplay-wise. But in the state of the game abandoned by CA, Yuan Shu's faction just isn't fun to use on the battlefield. Ji Ling is even a free agent in the 190 start!
I second that. idk how to utilize his unique units so i just stick with the classic stacks of spear guards + line of archers + cavalry to secure the flank... further worsened by the lack of talented officers but the money is good tho, i had so much fun throwing my wealth away with the legitimacy mechanic... when Kingdom of Zhong arises, i had 100k cash with 10k income every turn added with 6 vassals into my fold 😁
Serious Trivia...thanks for the documentary! I wonder if you will be doing any series on Zhu Ge Liang's northern experditions? I think it will be interesting!
His birth myth reminds me of Bodanchir who was apparently conceived when yellow person from sun touched Alanguo Maybe this yellow person was Yuan Shu and that’s why his descendants wants to settle down in central plains
Wait a minute Mongol dynasty was named Yuan eerily similar to his clan name Manchu dynasty was named dulimbai guren also eerily similar to zhong dynasty I might be on something
@@michaelbandada9887to be fair the Simas, Caos and Suns did that but the problem is timing, Those 3 declared they are the Big E now when Han Influence has long since disappeared, Yuan Shu though crowned himself Emperor smack dab when literally every Warlord was trying to Control the Han Court, meaning every single Warlord wants him dead including the Central Government. Pretty 🤩 random fellow. He’s neither the most recognized or powerful warlord. All he had was the imperial seal 🦭 n he thought 💭 it’s like gollum’s ring 💍 or something.
Hey, loved your video! Asking out of curiousity, have you talked about Huangfu Song in any of your previous videos, as he seems like an interesting character?
To be fair naming Zhong as a Dynasty is kind of like naming Gallic Rome and Palmyran Empire in naming Roman States they aren't really that remembred, not to mention both China and Rome had Randos Name themselves Emperor that tried to take the Imperial Throne but failed to take power. Zhong is also really similar to Roman Imperial Pretenders during the 3rd Century in that it lasted in just a few Months and failed spectacularly.
I never understood why the rapid tiger guard have no shields in 3k, was it l CA being lazy or just didn't care.I think there is a mod that gives them shields.
Nanyang, a rich province with only one incident of Yellow Turban takeover in Wancheng, lost the administrator Chu Gong, and was retaken by Han forces under Zhu Jun from the likes of the scourge in Zhang Manchong and the turtle Zhao Hong. And Nanyang is one commandery to contend for the many warlords throughout the fall of the Han.
too many factors really. Like would Sun Jian have done what Sun Ce have done to go south. Yuan Shu probably would not have let him as he underestimated Sun Ce due to age. He would not have done that with Sun Jian. It also depends on if Sun Jian lives, does Sun Jian beat Liu Biao then? If so then Yuan Shu would just establish himself in Jing which would change even more things
Before getting the Imperial Seal Yuan Shu: I ain’t gonna be letting myself be overshadowed by that bastard brother of mine! After getting the Imperial Seal Yuan Shu: Yeah! I am now a king! I am gonna be a star! On your knees, peasant scum, and that includes you, brother! A few months after his dynasty fell Yuan Shu: My kingdom, my kingdom for a stupid seal!
I like the thumbnail! The 2010 actor for Yuan Shu is so good, captured his deviousness very well
same
Yes his sly smile is 10/10. I think his smirk was inspiration for the Total war portrait

Somehow, Yuan Shu doesn’t want to be playing the sidekick to his brother
On top of that the Yuans were really powerful as a clan so they really could have but Feudalism.
Imagine just casually couping one of the major commanderies with a single execution. Usually that takes a lot more bloodshed. Thanks for the video.
that looks like a giant delicious pudding he's holding!
The imperial seal in the thumbnail looks like one of my breads I made once lol

Ah, nothing that 58 mods can't solve. In fact, they've made Yuan Shu my favourite faction to play.
Le petit tacle aux développeurs XD
Yay, finally the Yuan Shu series. Thanks.
Amazing video and explanation my friend, liked and subscribed 🍺🙏🏼
Been waiting for this series. Let's talk lore is definitely my favorite. I've always been a history junkie tho.
Love Three Kingdoms (2010) I enjoy its Soundtrack most of all.
good first episode, cant wait for the others.
Ah! Before my eyes at last!!!
Nice thumbnail! Love 3k!
Rapidly dying infantry haha

I gotta say Yuan Shu was the worst loser in the 3K era
He tried to set up his own dynasty and he got buried big time

@@SeriousTrivia Thanks!
Every time people list ancient Chinese dynasties, like at one SPARC reunion, I always scold them for failing to mention the Zhong Dynasty

more....MORE!
Is Zhong a supposed era in China?
nope not an official dynasty, Yuan Shu only made a calendar name for himself and never actually declared officially as an Emperor
What will happen if Sun Jian wasn't assassinated? Would he do what his son did?
first he wasn't assassinated and second he would probably just have served Yuan Shu

Aahhh wrong word, kill in ambush. If Zhong Dynasty was formed while Sun Jian was still alive, how would he react?
