Respect for reaching the highest echelons of government while strictly adhering to the law and not through carefully orchestrated falls for his rivals Game of Thrones style.
Damn, takes balls to tell off some of the highest officials of the empire and then to threaten resignation to the Emperor, good on the emperor to encourage civil debate
The Golden Dragons of Yuan! My favorite clan in Three Kingdoms! Yuan Shu was not as excited by obtaining the Imperial Seal as I am by seeing the Yuan Clan finally being covered! Before my eyes at last!
Interestingly it is very possible, that my family is part of a branch of the Yuan Clan. My ancestors came from the Henan area and later moved to the Hangzhou area.
>Sees new Serious trivia lore video "Finally some good fucking food" It'll be cool to see you cover Yuan Yi who is the administrator of Chang 'an in the 182 start date.
So I guess we'll be learning how the Yuan clan went from honorable and just, to dying of thirst because they didn't have honey water. Can't wait for the more in-depth lore for Yuan Shu - I love hearing about his bumbling and ambition.
Damn,I would love to see that debate session of Yuan An,the temerity and the audacity to challenge the grand Excellencies and made one of them taking his side is remarkable to say the least
The Minister Coachman was in charge of the stables for the war horses, as well as chariots. And although chariots weren't used actually IN battle anymore, hadn't been for awhile, they were used ceremonially by the court officials, when doing some of their duties within the capital. This meant they were also in charge of all of the imperial and governmental equine craftsmen too, all the folks making tack and harness and repairs and training etc etc. Almost the EXACT same thing as the Master of Horse in Rome, after the Principate begins and the position is no longer "right hand of the dictator". And, just like in China, the prestige of the post far outmatches the actual necessity of the post, also stemming from an earlier governmental structure.
13:05 400 innocent case just wow, now that 400 official become indebted to yuan an, then become administrator of the capital area, then become minister coachman, almost fight 3 grand excellency convince one of them and frikin threaten to get fired, also got promoted to grand excellency. WHERE IS THE DRAMA ADAPTATION no joke that is very interesting story
Great content as always! One small request is to add the Chinese translation next to the official titles (Town Inspector) in the upcoming videos. Keep it up!
Ooh this is a nice surprise. Esp since with the end of CA updates, the Yuan brothers are left in a pretty lacking state, like none of Yuan Shao's actual strategists getting unique, and Yuan Shu somehow getting stuck with Familial Conflict, which fits the theme but is so horrible for his own gameplay...
Worse : graphical bug near nanyang on the new map with the change in the province (literal hole in the ground). Even Worse : the event where you declare your bid for emperorship fives you legitimacy... and nothing else. Alll the bonuses and maluses listed DO NOT work.
@@arnavm7383 In 1271, Kublai Khan formally claimed the Mandate of Heaven and declared that 1272 was the first year of the Great Yuan (大元) in the style of a traditional Chinese dynasty. Hi Serious Trivia, I love your lore videos, I listen to them as I work. Do you have any information on the Northern Tribes and Korea in the Romance or Historically? It's a shame we won't get any of that in Three Kingdoms so I'm wondering what we are missing. Also where have you studied all of this? I have a few histories of the world but all skip over this period.
not much, historically speaking they were not a great fit. Korea was invaded by Gongsun Du and the Wuhuan got beat down by Cao Cao pretty early and stayed passive afterwards
@@SeriousTrivia the claim is that there are two different 袁良 and 新唐书 got them mixed up. I went down the rabbit hole and found an article "南朝陈郡袁氏家族谱系与联姻关系探讨", which notes discrepancies between when the two 袁良 from 新唐书 and 袁良碑 supposedly lived. I know this kind of detail isn't worth arguing over so just take a look at the article(easy to find online thank to its name) if you're interested.
thank you for link this! this was a great read and it seems the evidence is pretty clear that these are two separate 袁良 and I will make note of this in the next episode to clear this up!
Nice vid! I just have a question about co-op i'be been playing three kingdoms for 7 months with a friend and we can't find a way to play battle together, is there a way we can battle not against but together?
we have already done a lore video on Zhang Lu with a family tree of his ancestors but not all the celestial masters that followed him (we did mention the modern one though)
Yuan Shu actually got the highest rank among the clan as he became an emperor :))

LORE! LORE! LORE! LORE!!!
WOOOOOO! YEAH BABY THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!
From Imperial babysitter to Judge of Imperial Officials. So basically still a babysitter. Thanks for the video.

It would be an awesome side plot. But not a great main plot.

Drop more and more of these please. This is something we cannot get from movie or TV series, but not less intriguing
Can’t wait for video on yuan shu
I’m just starting this video, but I am very sure this will be great content as always
I take it that the Yuan Clan has absolutely nothing to do with the Yuan Dynasty by Kublai.
No, there is no relation.
@@grandadmiralzaarin4962 Then why "Yuan"?

Entirely different characters. Yuan Shao/Shu has the last name "袁", while the Mongol Dynasty is "元".
Nice new lore series and a unique one too as I'm not too aware of the Yuan history
Huh. I never thought much of Yuan Shikai being a member of the Yuan clan. Probably explains why he was a powerhungry idiot too.
Awesome content!! What I’ve been waiting!
Been rocking with you since 1k subs keep it up
Thanks for the video!
My favourite clan!
Very enjoyable. You should do more videos about 3K's lore.
Possibly a new RTK with a new engine? CA said they were working on new projects, related, but not connected to the game.
perfect timing! i was just about to start a yuan shu campaign with the map update
wait for tomorrow's guide!!!
Finally! I love your lore videos ❤
Guys, master trivia is still with us!!
Damnit, you got my hopes up for a Yuan Shu campaign.
well at the very least you have his early game guide tomorrow
Sick more lore!
My favorite character is Yuan shao 🥳
Yuan shih Kai and the renamed touba clan of northern wei?

@@SeriousTrivia Ah right, I'll have to look into that. Thank you for the response.
ST knows all of this because he found the map showing the location of the fountain of youth inside of the Imperial Jade Seal. He is Yuan Shu!
Yuan an sounds like a boss
I've done zero research but the Wikipedia page for 汝南袁氏 is pretty definitive in claiming that they are not closely related to the Yuan clan for Chen
Yuan Liang is a member of the Yuan clan of Chen and his son moved their branch to Runan. Also please don’t quote Wikipedia...

Are you planning a Guan Du lore after this one ?
we will see but eventually
YES! AT LAST! LET THE DRAGON OF YUAN SOAR OVER CHINA!
Can you do the cao clan too
Cao Cao already got his lore series
@@SeriousTrivia Oh Yeah I found it 😅😅
what are the three characters above Yuan An's portrait? His courtesy name?
袁河南 Yuan of Henan (it was probably a drawing done when he was administrator of Henan or representing the time when he was administrator of Henan)
Can you recommend any historical books about the period of 3k? I already read 三国演义
Historical? How about the records of the three kingdoms
@@SeriousTrivia Yes thanks, that's what I was looking for. I saw that it's part of the 26 official dynasty stories, right?
How much does it cost for these to be made. They’re great would love to see more
just my time
Hey Master! when can we expect this series to continue? :)
tomorrow!
Nice vid! I just have a question about co-op i'be been playing three kingdoms for 7 months with a friend and we can't find a way to play battle together, is there a way we can battle not against but together?
Yes you can coop and share troops in the battle
I hope you can go through the family tree of Zhang Lu (张鲁) one day 😎.
