I caddied at Pebble Beach for two years and the thing about the greens no one realizes is that the whole course is built on the side of a big hill that slopes towards the ocean. Even if it looks flat, your ball will almost always move towards the ocean because of gravity. The things you need to factor in are the knobs from the bunkers and the counter acting slopes of the greens that are built sloping into the hill. All three of these things have to be thought of when you’re reading your putt. It’s a crazy course
Hilarious how NBC used the music from that kids movie for these intros, I think they used it for their US Open, Players, and WGC intros from 2010-14, it actually sounded good, the one they were using before was so much lower energy it had been used in Costas essays in the past. Of course In Celebration of Man and Into the Night are legendary, you really can’t beat NBC’s USGA musical suite. So glad they have it back!
04:21:08 Came here to watch Tiger's second shot into 18 green from behind the tree after watching TXG's (Tour Experience Golf) video where they recreate the shot on Foresight GCQuad and FSX software. If you skip to 4 hours, 21 minutes, and 8 seconds of this video, you can see Tiger's shot. This link SHOULD jump right to that time stamp. ua-cam.com/video/ZfTkZPBna1k/v-deo.html
