This dream always seems daunting.
Well it was for me to, what I did was I told everyone that I was leaving, then you feel compelled to follow through, so I did, I chucked the shitty job in, I sold everything and the house is under contract, I jumped on a plane and left New Zealand, I drag everything I own in a 120 ltr duffel trolly bag....I procrastinated so long I had to do something. I'm single which I guess helped me make the decision. The third option in this video tickles my fancy.....and I'm in a position to do it. You can do it too !!

How is living in Sicily nowadays? With 2 volcanoes erupting simultaneously?
There is only one volcano on mainland Sicily :) It is affecting departures from Catania airport but otherwise life is continuing as normal. The Stromboli eruption is affecting just the access to Stromboli (island).

Hi again Angela! Renovation cost is calculated at a price per m2 depending on the level of restorations to be done on the property. As you know I am happy to discuss further numbers with you personally but as you said you already know the figures yourself. Have a great weekend!

how available are the companies to provide restoration?
We work with a local team to design and manage the restoration process for you, so all you have to do is hand us the keys and we return the property fully finished :)
I am interested in retiring in Tre Castagni Sicily near my family. Are the property taxes in Sicily high. My cousin told me that you only pay property taxes each year if you have more than one home. Is this true?
That's correct, if you are a resident of Italy you do not pay property tax on your primary residence. For a second property or if you live abroad the annual property tax varies between 0.86%-1.06% of the cadastral value of the property.
