HI, I make boutique devices. You may have noticed that your holes are not perfectly round or finished and you uses 3 drill passes to achieve your results due to the drill bits you are using not having the right flute count for aluminium. Instead may I suggest you use a step drill bit. They are cheap on amazon and will allow you to drill your holes in a single pass after marking and de-burr the holes at the same time. With step drill bit, you'll achieve perfectly round and machining quality holes every time.
Excellent work Andreas. I will be employing some of these ideas in my studio build. How fitting that the last three characters of this video's URL are 'DIY'. Serendipity!
I use a very similar method but with toner printer one must be careful to do a couple of "dustings" with the clear coat first or it will melt the ink and run. Very nice work, glad to see someone else out there doing same thing ;)
There's a way to actually transfer the toner onto the panel and remove the paper. It might be harder wearing and the markings would be silver! Xylene works well for this!
I actually like the look of the panel after it’s been sanded in every which direction. You could almost lacquer it and use clear labels and it would be pretty cool.
These days, you could laser print onto vinyl, then cut the holes (any shape) with a Cricut or similar, then transfer it to your panel. Just another idea for your consideration 🙂
I do the same, just drill LAST :) Seriously, if you use decent rotation speed and step drill it won't even damage the paper print. The glue has to be 100% set though.
IT's an allrounder. I use this: www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.pattex.de/de/products/klebstoff/alles-sprueh-heiss-kleber/repair_100_alleskleber.html&ved=2ahUKEwjcv7_sueHtAhUj5uAKHf00DKoQFjABegQIHBAB&usg=AOvVaw2W3ATjj4CYu_b3bOtU72k_
You are right, without any tools this is not low budget, but my page relates to diy synths. Of course, I can't make anything without some tools and material. You can use a standard-Drill instead of a stand-Drill and the Punches i have made by myself of little metallic-tubes. With a bottle of varnish you can paint many plates and the printings you can make in a store. except for the tools i used the Panel in this Video cost me about 12 Euro

Don't forget to print the first one as a negative so you don't waste a lot of toner. Great work here. Keep it up!!
I really enjoyed this video, and the music was pleasant to listen to with it. Great job! I may try this technique myself in the future.

2 sided laminated thick paper is also budget friendly option.
Very usefull and explained. Thanks a lot.
5:25 learned something new today!
Thanks for the video. Which glue do you use to finally glue the paper to the aluminum?

Loctite Extreme Glue seems to be an equivalent glue available in the US.
@@paulludington4030 yes, this should be the right glue for this👍
Spray glue, and backing roller to press. Or use the vernish under the sheet as glue
Great job, thanks for sharing
amazing content
Thanks for sharing !
Simple but effective. 👍
I do very much like that, but use spray glue. But this is a great methode.
Target 3001 is not free. The free version does not let you print or output gerbers
really helpfull
Use double sided adhesive sheet instead of glue. That works much better...
Ok but still you need aluminum sheet upright drill a punch ... low budget.... lets say mid budget

You could use any flat sheet material you have to hand, as long as its 1.5-3mm. You can pick up a used pillar drill for the same as a new hand drill.
Try making
not low budget enough
