    Somehow it's a shame that this valueable video series gets way less thumbs up than boring videos that teach people simply nothing.

    This is an i n c r e d i b l y helpful series. Everything worked exactly as described (up through sending it off, which I just did). Thanks 10000x for this!

    Great tutorial! A mixer/attenuverter with opamps would be a great next project indeed

    I really learned a lot during this series, thanks again for making these and going into so much detail! A mixer as the next project sounds really great! May I suggest an addition? A mixer with FX sends would be great, maybe lowering to line level? I have a bunch of DIY guitar effects pedals which are really great DIY projects too, but Eurorack level is way too hot for them, so I end up needing two mixers and a preamp and I'm sure that could all be combined into one module! Thanks again for this series, and I'd definitely love to see more of these. Subscribed and I hit the little bell too 😀

      So the plan is to keep the mixer super-simple to fit in with the beginner DIY theme. I'm thinking a 4HP wide module with only three inputs. However, I am thinking about adding output level control. Using that you should be able to reduce the signal level sufficiently to work with line levels for effects pedals.
      The good thing about small, very inexpensive modules like these (and that you can usually only order them in multiples of 5 - so maybe you end up with more than you know what to do with them) is that I think you could pretty easily replicate the topology of an effects send with a couple of the mults from this series and 2-3 of the mixer modules. Use the mults to split the incoming audio and send it to two different mixers. Use one of your mixers as the "dry" signal and the other can be the effects send. Then use the remaining mixer to mix the dry and returned effects. You'll probably want more than unity gain for the effects return and that should also be easily accomplished via your choice of input and feedback resistances, perhaps in only one of the modules. I may demonstrate everything with unity gain but I'll try and remember to include descriptions of how you can change that.

      @@eurorackDIY Awesome, thanks for the suggestion to use simpler mixers for this, that makes sense! And of course the return signal needs to be boosted too. I have one preamp in my signal chain already, so adding a couple more mixers would already give me one FX send. It would probably take up a bit too much space in the rack like that if I wanted 2 FX sends, but the way you just explained it makes the signal flow clear enough to design the mixer module I have in mind! Thanks again for making these videos, very useful!

    If you ever consider more panel design tutorials - those LED window masks would be cool

    • @eurorackDIY
      @eurorackDIY  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I think I know what you're talking about. I've never seen anything directly describing how you might do something like that but I figured you could design the board so there is no mask and no copper in the spots you'd like to let an LED shine through from the back. I suppose if you had several of these you'd need to do something to make sure they don't leak into each other. Perhaps some day I'll try something like that out.

    A breakout module for Arturia Beatstep Pro would be very cool :)

    • @eurorackDIY
      @eurorackDIY  3 роки тому +1

      I'm curious specifically what you'd want to see as a breakout module. Arturia makes several controllers which are great for Eurorack because their gates and control voltages are compatible with the module standards. I have ideas about several kinds of modules that would work with the outputs of a Beatstep Pro: envelope generators, voltage controlled oscillators, midi inputs, and even gated sample players which would be a nice use of the Beatsteps gates to create drum lines.
