Thanks for taking us along with you and showing us the outstanding workmanship on display there, some of those knives made by single man companys are more like art than tools. I'm not really a knife nut but have always had a simple Victorianox on my key ring ever since I started driving in 1997. I'd be curious to know what you think of Jack Pyke knifes? I recently purchaed the two piece hunting set for £30, that's for a 4" blade and a 6" blade both with lovely Rose wood handles. I find them very ergonomic and really can't fault them for the price. I've been using the 4" one a lot on cutting up boxes and packing stuff I've sold, The 6" one has mainly been used for cooking. Both seem to hold their edge well, they still take the hair off my arm after over a couple of months general use. The only thing I can fault is the nylon sheaths, they're rubbish but do do the job. As I use a knife at work a lot my EDC is a No 10 Opinel, obviously I don't carry it if I'm out shopping. They may be very cheap and the locks arent the best but they hold an edge well once touched up a little, they also don't look tactical. However I can quickly open mine with one hand if required.
I didnt end up buying anything! I have a few sitting at home needing a review. I wish I had hair, I really want the OTF Comb!! I was also tempted to buy some high end kitchen knives but still thinking on it..
I gave this video a thumbs up because I enjoyed the products available but I fear these guys will be showcasing 20mm blades in the future because of uk laws. My knife collection is already subjected to item being destroyed and binned . I’m a great believer in knives should be allowed to approved users. All my knives are for bushcraft ,work and everyday use. I would only use a knife for self defence in an extreme emergency. In my mind a knife is a tool not a weapon. I wouldn’t be suprised if the cutting edge grind is subject to new laws because a short blade ground correctly can be scalpel quality and be instantly deadly.
