As a Utah guy who grew up in the Stockton era, the Kings have always been my #2 team. Thee reasons for this: 1. I like small market teams that the national media ignores. 2. The way they were hosed in the conference finals by a ref that outright admitted to throwing games, and the league and media still won't admit it, because they wanted the Lakers to win. 3. The ovation they gave Stockton when he came out of his last game. I hope they stay in where they are and win a championship in the near future.
That ovation came despite Stockton absolutely breaking the hearts of Sacramento in game four of the first round of the playoffs in 1999. I actually did a video a while back on the formation of the Greatest Show on Court Kings: ua-cam.com/video/EVVxsnZdcUM/v-deo.html
A’s ownership is wack as fuck. I’m a bit excited to have a major league team in Sacramento but I feel like the team is already disrespecting this city. What was Oaklands problem will now be ours for a few years. 🎉
A "fugazi" from Roseville?? 🤔 Loved the "where you from" segment? Yeah, if local, it's "Roseville," and beyond that, "Sacramento." Then if someone replies back, "It's oh, I from Citrus Heights," then the conversation expands. Was disappointed not to see the images of Tedy Bruschi or Molly Ringwald, however. Summer, works too. F the Athletics, well, Fisher. Sacramento is just a rental. I agree that MLB does not have Sacramento in mind, long term.
I'm excited to tell my grandkids I saw.. the Yankees or Dodgers... Cubs.. whomever play right here in Sac. Literally the only positive in this. Novelty
I really hope no one goes to the games because A's ownership doesn't deserve any money. That said I completely understand the novelty of getting to see them for a year or two
I know is a long shot but I imagine the As making it to the World Series in the next couple of years and having a 10,000 sutter health park hosting the World Series 😅
I see the ALCS between Tampa Bay Rays and Sacramento A’s being the ultimate. But if you look at new ballparks (they aren’t stadiums anymore) Raley Field isn’t that much smaller. Sad to say
great way to get your potential home fans on your side....it's not like you're gonna be there for 3 or so seasons. But that's good, that way they will make nothing from Athletic sales and Sac Athletics gear. but their name is stupid, personally i would go with The Wayward Baseball Club. I hope you average crowd numbers in the "number of employees required to be there"
I think the end game of the Kings/River Cats owner (Vlvek Ranadive) is to purchase The Athletics from Fisher and then to try con local taxpayers into building a new baseball stadium for the team to stay in Sacramento. I feel the A's will end up in Salt Lake City no matter who owns them.
I get what you're thinking, but I don't believe you represent Sacramento and the surrounding areas-you’re representing yourself. There's nothing wrong with at. I live very close to Sutter Health, and honestly, I couldn’t care less what the team is called because I understand why they’re here. No one that I know does. There's no rhyme or reason to care about this. Why on earth would a team create an identity in an temporary location? It's the Athletics Baseball Club. It's not here to create a fan base and people get that because again they know this is temporary. Over the next two years, we get to see all MLB teams come to West Sacramento, I'm not an A's fan and I'm looking forward to that. This also gives MLB an opportunity to gauge if this area can support a team in the future. MLB didn’t want the situation in Oakland to continue. They voted unanimously to allow the team to move without having to pay a relocation fee. The city of Oakland wanted $97mil for a 5 year extension for the A's to continue to play at the Coliseum. Why would anyone pay close to $20mil per year to stay there? It's not like they were packing the place. They'll have more attendance at Sutter Health then they had each of the past 4 years in Oakland. John Fisher is the third major franchise owner to leave Oakland in the past five or six years, not the first or second. Davis, Lacob, and Gruber all left for better locations and stadiums-facilities that simply couldn't get built in Oakland. Oakland just recalled a mayor who had no business running a city, and Alameda County also recalled its district attorney. It’s a complete shit show down there. It'd be another decade to get a stadium down there if not longer.
I represent the Sacramento that doesn't back into parking spaces or overtake on small residential streets. I represent the Sacramento that's tired of Boomers making up fantasy stories about how things used to be. I represent the Sacramento that gets overlooked or ignored because they no longer have the time, energy, or desire to fight for common sense with the various extremes that now permeate the region, yelling loudly for no real reason. You ask: Why on earth would a team create an identity in a temporary location? See Hornets, Oklahoma City. It is to recognize a place and people offering you support in a time of need. What's more, MLB doesn't care about Sacramento. The city is behind Utah, Nashville, Portland, and most likely North Carolina. Playing at Sutter Health Park doesn't change that because all the league cares about is stadium plans, of which Sacramento has none. Not a single person questions the viability of the market. That is simply a red herring being thrown out to locals so they support the team. A red herring you are now eating up. Oh wait, there it is. You are parroting the anti-Oakland propaganda as well. Game, blouses.
@@thetouchbackyou don’t represent Sacramento at all. At least I can say my second cousin is mayor of the city. You can’t even say that dude. You represent your leftist constituents nothing more. Hence you putting down more conservative parts of the Sacramento region. Because they don’t want to be Oakland part 2. It’s not surprising you voted for someone who said in 2007 that she was a sex worker. Pathetic
The A’s will never rep sac, and would never attached the Sacramento name to any of its gear. Just be happy you have them there for a few years. Forever Oakland
The Las Vegas baseball stadium hasn't started and the project hasn't even confirmed funding. One of you doesn't know what they are talking about, and it's not the person saying Vegas isn't going to build the stadium.

They might as well not make any merchandise.
I remember Tower Records HQ was in West Sac. I worked for 7 years in the Bay Area and Seattle.
Why not California a's.
Bootleg merchandise is already being made. I doubt MLB will show any games on TV, or replay highlights for fear of Sacramento A's being shown
how about "Tenant Baseball Squad, est. 2024"
I love that "Support your Local Bootlegger"
They sign a contract an get the Raiders booted then wanna follow then when that contract is almost done
Yeah that was disappointing news to say the least
West Sac isn’t even Sacramento it’s Yolo county
This is going to be like when the Houston oilers moved to Tennessee and played in Memphis and no one there went to the games
Have you seen the ticket prices? Obviously not

You're literally Sacramento in a person
Bull. Dude is Davis not Sacramento
The A's haven't even played a game and the host is running new residents out of town. To Vegas ???? Who knows
The way things are going for the Athletics, they might challenge the White Sox for terrible play.
