I’m 13 and I just started collecting wwii US and German items, and thank you for your videos because now I’ve learned a lot from them and I’m a lot more knowledgeable than I used to be. It’s a very fun and interesting hobby, and it’s really cool to own something that you usually see in a museum.
Thank you very much. I'm always happy to hear that someone has caught the collecting bug, especially when they are a young person; this hobby has enough old men as it is! I wish you the best of luck, and hope you'll never stop learning.
I was wondering if you had any ideas on why Hitler youth knives are a top seller lately? We’re a lot of them made so there’s lots out there and a good place to start collecting? I’m guessing these were mostly spoils of war. With very few of the greatest generation left, I’m sure most of their families just wanted to get rid of the stuff. When my grandfather got back to Canada I didn’t realize how much stuff he had till he was close to passing away and asked me if I was interested in having it. Gramps was a tank commander on a Sherman. I got a bunch of different flags and banners as well as knives uniforms and two 9mm Lugers.
Thank you for a great vlog Mr. Wittmann. You are so good at talking and remembering friends of you, that sadly has left us. You always talk nice about them. Bet you are a great friend for those fortunate to know you. God bless you Tom. I really enjoy your passion for WW2 memorabilia. Looking forward to enjoy more vlogs from Wittmann Antique Militaria. Regards from your Norwegian friend Nicolai.
This was my first time attending this MAX show. I met some friendly people, and had a good time talking with Walter and Gerhard. Your videos are what brought me here. Thank you!
A very fine video as always Tom. Only for the second time that I missed the MAX show. When there is a sickness in the family, one must do what one must do. See you next year in York, PA.
Anther great video from the legend wittmann, but tell me did you sell all that fine porcelain and AH candle stick holder as I can't find it on your bed site. Love the video from the uk
I went to the sword museum in Solingen last week. Within 2 minutes, the swords you have on display are more impressive than the ones I saw there (well...with the exception of the Imperial German Sword of State :) )
15:00...this is not signals, this is Panzerregiment 24. The only tank regiment in the German Army allowed to have the yellow piping. And the yellow doesn’t come from signals but from cavalry. The Pz .Rgt. 24 was a traditional unit carrying the tradition of Mackensens Hussars (thus cavalry). Although, the yellow used on the tunics resembles the colour usually used by signals. Regulation cavalry colour was „egg yellow“, while signals used „lemon yellow“.
I was in the Cavalry myself and immediately thought the same thing. Many of our piping and branch colors are the same. (And Signals is ‘orange’ not yellow)
@@mamavswild In the Wehrmacht, signals colour was “lemon yellow” while the cavalry had “egg yellow”. “Orange” was for Feldgendarmerie. But interestingly, a signals guy wore his proficiency badge (the lightning bolt on the left sleeve) in the branch colour he was attached to. If he was in a Panzergrenadier unit for example the lightning bolt would be “grass green”. Matching his shoulder tabs and collar insignia.
You have a wonderful personality That is why you have succeeded in life because you are extremely likable I can tail I am a people watcher and I have been watching people for 73 years you are a good person
That little stick is what the British called a "swagger stick" which is meant to take the place of sabers/swords as the symbol of Officers rank after they stopped using swords due to snipers targeting officers by looking for those wearing swords.
It's a shame Mr Burkhardts collection didn't remain in his family I hope the home buyer at least checked first before selling it , but we do live in the new profit before morals society
Focus focus focus either get a new camera that automatically focuses or learn to focus Mr. cameraman there are things I would love to see but they are blurry

You're doing an amazing job, thank you for sharing with us 👍
The camera person must learn to focus the lens while doing close ups. Otherwise a real treat to watch.
He drinks heavily, but I can't say anything because I do too!
I enjoy your channel and your sense of umor.@@WittmannAntiqueMilitaria

Hey I’m 15 and my collection is growing, any tips for me?
Invest in reference books, network with other collectors, slowly build a collection up based upon your particular interests and budget.
Very interesting ❤❤❤

Did you like that receipt, signed in 1927 by Rudolf Hess? I've had it for years, and it's available 'to the right party'. Contact me.
It can be seen here at 1:10:50 in the video.
You need to have your cameraman focus better on the close-ups it would be really nice to see that stuff up close and focus
I wonder how much of this German stuff was sold at this show?
30:03 Famous hitler youth axe hahaha
Holy shit 🤣 I didn't spot it before you told us, remember when he displayed the toilet paper with swastikas 😂
😅I might be wrong..BUT I doubt it!
I'm looking for Goerings shorts!
dennis duran I bought some of those, unfortunatly they don't fit.
Amazing stuff! Wish I could afford that stuff, I'd ask my parents to get one of those daggers for Christmas but then they'd think I'm a Nazi.
