Well, this was fun posting. To everyone who missed it, someone (Miro) due to too many hoyas posted the video before it was done processing (which is not a bad thing, I personally prefer the pixelated look). Have fun watching and tell me which hoya is your favorite 💚
I did check several Indonesian local online stores about H. NS 11-159 (mostly under the name Hoya sp. Papua no ID), and the leaves in their photos are more lanceolate. Interestingly this leaves are similar to H. leucantha S. Moore (another mysterious species from Papua). There's slightly different shape of the corona too. From Hoya Passion website photo, the NS11-159 clone has greenish corona with obtuse lobes and the Indonesia stores clone has white star shape corona. Maybe the leaves/sterile photo of the plant in the Indonesia stores doesn't match the flower too. There's H. leucantha sold too in the Indonesia local online shops with white flat flower, but the only one holotype sheet of the species found in the Internet doesn't shows blooming flower, only an umbel of tiny buds with lanceolate leaves. Anyway, great haul!
To everyone watching: STOP 😂 I published the video by accident and processing is not done. I unlisted it but everyone who got a notification can still watch it, Let's wait a bit, and it will be processed soon :) And then you can watch :D DAMN YOU ARE ALL SO EARLY 😂
😅 ok, I thought I was losing it, as I was searching and thinking I must had dreamed your post up!? Thank you for the update, I’m not as cray cray after all!!!😂 ❤
Re-watching this so many months later, and wanted to share a recent shipping experience I had here in the states. The amazing seller sent a thin-leaved hoya cutting (solokensis) in a water vial which I thought was genius. It didn't leak and the cutting never dried out and arrived in perfect shape, peduncle still intact. So there's an idea for shipping thin leaves!

@@BasiePlants Thx 😂 but if the description of how they arrived wasn't already a give away to me, that Peninsularis was. It's the spitting image of the one I bought last November. I struggled with it and it still looks like a hot pile of garbage, but it's ALIVE garbage with a tendril. The nursery sells the plants as soon as they arrive from Thailand, never repotting them from the compacted sphag they come in. They take advantage of the fact that people want hard to find hoyas and can't afford the high costs of importing/shipping from other countries or don't know collectors that have those plants.
I absolutely love your videos and seeing all the different Hoya! I used to think Hoya were overrated but that all changed after seeing one in person. I hope to one day have even a fraction of your wonderful collection
Great content. Will have to re-watch and note all the ones I want to search out. The Griffithii leaves were a favorite. Also need to make a new list for the flowers I fell for. Thank you!
Yesterday I was watching some of your older videos and secrectly hoped for more hoya haul videos.. Thank you for answering to my prayer, Miro! 💚 This does not help with my hoya addiction but sure gives me happiness 🫣😍
Thanks for sharing so many hoya I've never heard of! Do you or will you have a video specifically highlighting your hoya in bloom? Basically so I can live vicariously through you...
I really appreciate that you google the flower pics for us. Saves me a lot of effort :) I'm not even going to comment on the haul. Who needs all these guys? 😐 No jealousy here AT ALL 🥴
What is your number 1 wishlist plant?? And P.S. I’d LOOOOOVE to get a cutting of ANY of your Hoyas!! I’ve (not so) secretly wanted your Hoya macrophylla since your channel began!! ❤
I JUST saw a medinillifolia in person this weekend. Beautiful! I know what you mean about the leaf texture. So so thin. The owner of it said it arrived to him in horrible shape.
I heard so many stories of it arriving badly, I was sure it was gonna die but I had to try it. Yet, here we are :D She is alive for now. But very very pretty in person indeed!
Squealed when this video came up! I just acquired 14 new Hoya this weekend as well as a tour of my local Hoya suppliers collection! Such a fun filled Hoya weekend (this video included 😉) I felt that turning 30, being ancient comment sold hard. My turn is coming in November. 🙃
minibelle, elliptical, loyceandrewsiana, EPC-hybrid, lobbi, finlaysonii panggha, vitdlinoides , and carmelae. (Did my best with spelling 😂)Just to name a few! Luckily I just installed new shelves in my west facing window earlier this week! 😅 always look forward to your comedic and informational videos!
Ola Miro! I’ve missed you!hahahha you are my comic relief in this stressful world lol. Keep doing you!🥰 but honestly I don’t have money for this hoyas that you influenced me to like huhu 🤣
😂 I mostly pay for them from selling cuttings of my own hoyas and aroids 😂 But sometimes I definitely take from my macro lens fund or my 2nd rudsta fund 😅
I’m curious. When you are rehabbing the Hoyas with leaves that aren’t looking great and you eventually get beautiful new leaves do you at some point snip the top part off and reroot that and get rid of the original damaged part.
Sometimes I do, it depends how ugly the plant looks :D Sometimes they turn out fine like my Hoya aff caudata, and sometimes only the new growth looks nice, so I take a nice fresh cutting and start a new plant :)
Just yesterday, I tried to downsize my collection via trading (3 rooted dischidia ovata for one rooted hoya crassipetiolata), but I ended up gaining extra hoya cuttings (4 hoyas plus one dischidia). I couldn't say no 🥹. Now I'm waiting for surigaoensis, viola, chelsea, verticilata varigata, and dischidia oiantha v. to root and trying to purge my other plants (but these hoya hauls are killing my goal of downsizing lol)
😂 I feel you! I am trying to downsize my aroid collection but I think my true goal is to move out aroids so I can move hoyas in in my 2nd grow tent. But we are not admiting this yet. Variegated oinantha is something I definitely intended to get!
yes, absolutely feel you! I gave away all my cacti collection, as well as many regular houseplants, now getting rid of most of the aroids...feels so much better! and yes, I just got more than 15 new Hoyas...and some orchids...damn it!
Wow. That is a lot of hoyas! Im hopeful that you can rescue all of them. I have been fooled before thinking I had peduncles but I was wrong. But now!!!: I do have a peduncle! I bought a multiflora cause you said they bloom fast and it did! Im hoping the bloom will grow and flower. All my hoyas look good and healthy but no peduncles. I just have them at a sw facing window and they seem to like it. No grow light. They are common varieties but they are beautiful and I love them even if they dont want to bloom.
I am so happy to hear that your multiflora bloomed! Some bloom easier than others. I find that a lot of the more popular ones and easy to find ones like pubicalyx and carnosa may take a bit longer to bloom that other species. But I think a lot of them can bloom under 2 years :)
I don't know about that Hoya lacunosa. Splash is not part of the name, just a descriptor. :) So, is it Hoya lacunosa 'Royal'? This is 'Royal Flush' :) They can look a bit different, depending how stable the cultivar is and how well its characteristics have been preserved.
after watching your video, I may or may not have added more Hoyas to the wishlist 😂.. by the way, where did you get that gray self watering pot with clear insert? Thanks for sharing your Hoya haul.. 🙏🏼
Not happy that you don't like our New Zealand icon - polyneura variegata 'wishbone'. Grown from seed by Eion Scarrow. Not native to New Zealand but at least our little claim to fame in the Hoya world. Wish it had never left our shores.
Not really, if you compare it to multiflora or lockii. But if you compare it to something like 'Jennifer', they are thinner. I guess you can say they are on the thin side of the Hoyas with succulent leaves.
IT WAS AWFUL! I intended to make a joke because I was gifted 'Carpe Diem' mug and I definitely don't be carpeing any days, but that coffee just made me forget why I was there 😂
