  • @RachelPeterson0218
    @RachelPeterson0218 11 місяців тому +3

    It makes sense that caudata could be seen as a dupe for undulata; I have several caudata and was wondering why I was drawn to them. Now it makes sense! I have wanted an undulata for forever and was trying to fill a need. 😅

    Great video, Miro! I have hoya Nabawanensis var and walliniana they are really alike. Variegated heuschkeliana had reverted on me once :D
    I also think Lata Iskandar can be dupe for clemensiorum? They're both in my wishlist 🤩

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  11 місяців тому

      Oh really? So interesting to hear it reverted on you. I have never heard of that happening :D I guess anything is possible. And yes - you are right! Hoya peninsularis (formerly sp. Lata Iskandar) is definitely close to clemensiorum. I could have included that one too as I have it :)

    Great video! I was wondering how did you use pon in a self-watering pot with a wick? I use pon, but can’t figure out how to get that wick through the mesh that I use to keep the pon from falling out…maybe you use a special type of pot? Right now, I don’t have drainage but looking to change that. Thank you

  • @walle5667
    @walle5667 11 місяців тому

    You have lovely hoyas as usual and it was very interesting to see your suggestions. Of course, Hoya Clemensiorum is an ultimate goal, but as long as I'm still struggling with Callistophylla and Peninsularis I'm not even touching the Clemensiorum with a 10 foot pole. Way too expensive to just casually kill on the side 😶 But a girl can drool...
    Meanwhile I have Hoya Erythrina thriving on the balcony and she is preparing buds. I am super excited and I am sure you're wrong about her flowers not being too impressive. Even you can't know everything 😏

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  11 місяців тому

      I'd say clemensiorum is easier than peninsularis and definitely easier than callistophylla. Hoya callistophylla clones I had have all been really nasty to grow. Haha, maybe you will like the flowers of erythrina. :D I just think they are a bit small :)

    Was it the summer? Was it the already-established plants' vibes? All the new Hoyas (about 7 of them - nothing near your Villa Hoya) are going crazy with growth. There is a Hoya leaf today which is a chocolate/olive colour - impossible, but there it is!

    I don‘t understand the whole concept of duping _H. undulata (wavy leaves)_ in the first place. The only replacement for it is a splashier one… or maybe the clone with less wavy leaves…. wait, what am I talking about. You cant replace something with something else you need to own both of… 😂🤣
    Not really comparable to your clemens, IML 0905 is on the same level of satisfaction it gives, but in a completely different game.
    (You need GPS 7020 and NAP 01 as well.)

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  11 місяців тому +1

      Oh I am not impressed so much with undulata anymore. I am not in love with the atitude at all. There are many more grateful species out there :D I even think mitrata is a good replacement even though it does not have undulate leaves. And versteegii might even be better. :D I have seen GPS7020, not fully convinced. NAP01 - I have seen couple of plants go under that name, some looked like sulawesiana. I will definitely have to look into it.

    • @_hazplants
      @_hazplants 11 місяців тому

      @@BasiePlants of course, I can understand your feelings towards H. undulata. It is a little b*****.
      I killed mine, except for a little node, and am hopefully regrowing it from there. There are easier Hoyas to hoard, but I like the ones, that are a little bit more difficult. They teach me more. 🤣
      I think Rics NAP 01 is the real one.
