- In this video we install a S2000 push-to-start button in our Acura NSX. We remove the cigarette lighter and place the button in its location. We then relocate the cigarette lighter to the arm rest storage compartment.

i don't know why i watched this video, i don't even own a nsx 😂. When i get one i'll come back and watch this video again
It’s because your are awesome! 😎 thanks for watching the video and when you get a NSX and need any help, make sure to hit me up. 🤘🏽🙂👍🏽
@@DriversTherapy Say less both colorado natives 🙌🏻 maybe one day i'll see you driving and we'll chat. keep up the content
@@politanos2k Thanks man! And that would be awesome! Just wave me down. 🙂👍🏽👋🏽
Hearing the car start up from a big red button was so satisfying! Could listen to that start up all day! Great work and I'm glad it turned out well👍
Thank you! It is fun to press the button and hear the engine start. 😀
the center console on the table had me like "put a towel down so it doesn't get scratched upppppp"
You are right, I think I got lucky and did not hurt anything but good catch.
Great job! You certainly have a lot of patience when working on cars.
Sometimes... LOL
Very cool! Might even add a bit of Anti-Theft too!
True! 🙂
Nice mod!!!
Thanks!!!
Very detailed informative video, it is a big help to see it done before actually doing the project. Good job!
Thanks, Jim! I like doing stuff like these. It is challenging but rewarding as well.
Was interesting to watch but I have a 97 since 97 and have had no problem inserting the key and turning it. This mod to me is pointless IMO. But again interesting 🤔 to watch.
Hey! I’m just happy you watched the video. 🤘🏽😅
Compared to Preludes of the same vintage the order of disassembly and access to fasteners in the center stack seems much more well thought out in the NSX. Honda was really on their A game when they designed this car.
The first time I took apart the center console I was surprised how the process was thought out. I’m happy for that because I’ve had to take it apart half a dozen times. Thanks for watching the video. 🤘🏽
Nice job , as usual ;)
Pretty funny to notice your Jinx/powder image on your smartphone, I hope you watched the Arcane series, I'm working on this project since 5 years already ;)
Yes!!! I like Jinx/Powder. Such a great show. I can’t wait for the next session. So good. But I need some clarification… your working on what project? 😯
@@DriversTherapy Arcane. We're still in the making of season 2.
@@ericseven711 omg that is bad ass!!! I feel like I know a celebrity. 😎😮🤘🏽
@@DriversTherapy ahahahhh, we're a bunch of artists to work on it, I'm only a little piece of the team 😅
@@ericseven711 that’s cool! Well you know how I feel about it. It’s my screensaver! 🙂🤘🏽😎
This gave me a great idea about just mounting an arduino kit under the dash for push to start and lock control. I think you could pretty easily remove the need for a key at all for day to day stuff. Probably about the same amount of work that you did and then just splicing into the lock controls (and programming the arduino, but that's not to much work). Maybe you could even use a fob for proximity to trigger keys and start/ACC circuit? Hmm...digging into this idea.
That would be pretty cool. I like your idea. I worked once with an ardunio kit but lack the coding skills to make it work. I know some kits use a software that codes the way the switches work. It’s been a long time.
where can i get the push button harness? or it comes from s2000 too?

Great job! Start to finish, if not interrupted and all tools on hand, how much time is required to accomplish that project?
I would say about 2 hours to be safe. Maybe less but I like to take my time when working with trim pieces.
Do you still like that button?
Yes! I use it, it’s just a fun addition. Plus it looks cool from the outside as well.
Pretty cool mod. Quick question. Can you still start the car using the key or do you have to use the start button (like the S2000)?
I honestly don't know. I will have to try it out and get back to you on that one.
I just tested it and yes you can start the car with the key as well. 🙂
@@DriversTherapy Thanks for checking. My NSX is pretty much stock so I don't think I will be doing the start button mod. It is really cool though.
