Thank you for making this video!!! It gave me the courage to attempt rebuilding my g16's blown engine, which now runs great!
Great no-nonsense video! I love your laid back style getting everything fixed without getting mired down in details. Your narration and confidence are awesome as well. Thanks for posting!
I'm going to keep that in mind for future videos! Best of luck on your build!
This was helpful in showing me what the air cleaner housing sits and mounts too.
Love the content, im stuck on the fly wheel coming off and chapter 5 magically had it removed😂
Best video I have the exact same golf cart and I’m going to attempt doing a rebuild on mine also. Thanks for the great video mate 🤟
Good no nonsense video covering the critical points without getting carried away with clean room standards-probably the way most of the people viewing this video will have to carry out this size of engine rebuild ❤
I bought a g11 golf cart $500 their is loud clunking noise so I pulled the top end where the valves are and turn the flywheel and found out the piston was loose so I'm rebuilding the whole motor Thank You so much for the video helps me immensely
Glad I could help you out! Great project when you look back at it.
Hi need help, I have a Yamaha golf cart that started smoking one day, pulled in the garage and found gas had soak the filter and was in the air box so checked the oil and there was gas in the oil, I drained the oil and replaced the carburetor, fuel pump, air filter, spark plug added new oil then test drove it , no smoking but had little power to pull a small hill, so pulled the new plug and it was covered with very heavy black soot, so put another plug in and drove it same thing, don’t have a clue what is wrong, have you ever had an experience like this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for the video!
Great video thanks for the info gonna start my rebuild this coming week
Good luck!
Going to have to rebuild the old one I have laying around now.
Hi, I have a Yamaha G9. Can anyone tell me where to buy an original oil dipstick or one that fits well?
Many Thanks, I would have liked to see you hone the cylinder walls. I'm still stuck there. You are a fine mechanic. I can imagine what you could do on a work bench. Many thanks for the great info ,
. Ill be using it tomorrow
The key is to constantly keep the hone moving so you get a cross hatch. It's easier than you think. The pattern of the hatching shows up quickly and it's easy to follow.
Good Video..... there are several questions that i have that you did not go over, you just cut the video and returned, first you took measurements to the cylinder head to see if you needed an over size piston, what are those measurements and how do you find out? second question you talk about honing the cylinder, what type of hone do you need? is it one that you would buy at harbor freight with 220 grit? also the rod bearings, my crank was scared pretty bad, so i ordered a brand new crank and brand new rod, i cannot find anywhere that talks about rod bearings to find the size, i do have a service manual however i am not seeing any of this information. any help would be GREAT thanks.
I had the same issue with the air box doing the starter. Now she is running she smokes. Ok probably have to pull the engine and do the same.
Do you have any vieo of the removal and install of the clutch?
Your video was pretty good but I will add that since u had the head out I would have checked for bent as well as honed them
Hey, thanks for the video. Doing the same for my G9. Where can I find the service manual for all the specs?
Cartaholic's might be able to help you
The gap space is important and should be measured too spec if ring can't expand enough it will destroy the cylinder sleeve wall.
We just got a 1988 G2 with the same engine smokes bad. But paid $300. I was thinking of rebuilding myself and was wondering where you got the parts? Any link appreciated. Greate video!
That's a great price! If you think you can rebuild it then definitely go for it. Parts are everywhere. I just went with who had everything I needed. Good luck
Is there a rebuild manual for these, I have a g16 and I can't find one online
I'm sure someone makes something. All I needed was the torque specs for bolting it back together. They were pretty easy to find.
no mine still not going think its just quits firing
Should clean engine up completely before opening anything up to inside
Very interesting video! I have some upgraded accessories for Yamaha golf carts, would you be willing to give them a try?
We are always willing to try out anything.
