20' Small Travel Trailer Walk-Through | Grand Design Imagine AIM
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 лют 2024
- Full walk-through RV tour of the Imagine AIM 16ML lightweight small travel trailer by Grand Design. This small camper trailer has a slide out, residential queen bed and a dry bathroom. We were surprised at how much storage this RV has and how usable the space felt. Special thanks to our friends for letting us tour their camper trailer. One thing they love about this small camper is the amount of storage inside, especially in the kitchen area of the RV.

The only thing I would change about it is the sink, the rest is perfect!
That would be perfect for me! More counter space in the kitchen than I expected & so much storage throughout. Always enjoy the Joe tours.🤗
Thank you Bonnie!
My favorite feature is that it is surprisingly roomy inside.
Big thanks to your friends for the walk-through 👏🏼
I like everything about this trailer except for the absence of an inverter! I like the fact that they changed out their AGM batt, and put in lithium! Those tank sizes are VERY RESPECTABLE 👍🏼
Cheers to another great video by the Dynamic Duo 👏🏼👍🏼🤩🤙🏼🥂
Thanks Rob and agree 100% - an inverter is a must have, especially these days with the bigger battery banks.
A 2nd panel and an inverter is an option.
@@toddreimer1158 Hi Todd 👋🏼
I have to say that is probably one of the better small campers I have ever seen pretty much has all you neeed to camp out and be comfortable at the same time 👍🏻
Agreed!
Great job. I’d prefer a campside window to sit and look out while I have my coffee or watch the fire.
Walkable roof with ladder makes maintenance so much easier. I love my Blackstone griddle. Nice camper.
That it does
I think the layout is my favorite feature. It seems optimal for a 16ft trailer. I like the big bathroom and kitchen as opposed to taking up a lot of space with the sleeping area.
Agreed - it felt much more spacious than a trailer that size should.
Your video arrived « Just in time » I’m just about to invest in a camper .. Thanks A Lot ❤ from Québec
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video! We have the same model and are very happy with it. We did replace the mattress. I've yet to find a good OG mattress. Workmanship and materials are very good. We did have a few issues but Grand Design took great care of us. Hey Joe, I just want to say we enjoyed both of your books.
Thanks Todd!
Beautiful camper. A suggested note when talking weights and measures is also to mention Cargo Carry Capacity. It helps with knowing loading capabilities along with the robustness of the suspension.
Good call - thank you. This one is about 1,000 lbs
Cargo capacity for our 2023 16 ML is 929 lbs
I like everything about this camper, the length and weight
We agree. Can be towed by quite a few vehicles
I that it seems nice and bright. I like the cabinet color and that the bathroom is at the end, not in the middle of the camper. Great revue, Joe!
Thanks Suzanne! Hope y'all are doing well
Thanks for allowing us to see your travel trailer Russo friends. Nice compact design that doesn’t skip on comfort and essentials. As a van gal, I can only look at that storage with envy.!
Thanks for watching!
I like everything about this camper 👍
Great review Joe! Love those smaller campers. Great features!
Thanks! 👍
The dry bath is great!
I’m interested in the Quality of the Mattress …. Countertop is Large and the Rear Bathroom is a plus. Great review. Thanks😊
They replaced their mattress with one off Amazon and said it’s better than their mattress at home
Those large fans are upgrades by the owner, along with the side cameras
Thank you...
Thanks for the tour!!
Our pleasure!
Thanks
Not bad. I’d definitely have to do a solar upgrade across the board. Inverter, panels, more batteries and a controller but it’s a nice size 👍🏼
Not a bad idea
Grand Design offers an upgrade package which includes an extra solar panel and a 2000 watt inverter along with a couple of other items
Hey Joe. We have a Geo pro with an east/west bed and we use a piece of plywood to sleep north/south and it turns the bed from a full to a king. We use extra pillows for the foot…
That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing
Thts awesome ‼️💯that would be perfect for me👍🏼
Saw you guys on the Costco connection magazine. Congrats!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great price, but what looks better when not in use on your property. This or an airstream. I’d go with an airstream.
True but now your talking about 2-3x the price
Nice one. Great for a Jeep Gladiator
It sure is!
I have seen Jaguar XKE's, older Corvettes, first generation Miatas, and probably a few other cars with headlight malfunctions, either one won't come up, or one won't go down. So, understand that I will probably never buy an RV with a slide. I am a firm believer in keeping things simple. More power to those who have other preferences (does that mean that I am wishing them lithium batteries?).
Agreed - the slide on this seems more like a marketing thing rather than a real feature.
@@Weretherussosthe slide does actually make it even more wide open, but it could easily go without the slide
I’m interested in knowing the reliability of the trailer. Workmanship and the materials
Hard to say until it's been used for a while. My understanding is that Grand Design has a good reputation.
Ours had a few issues new but Grand Design fixed them. It’s been solid since.
What about frame flex, did Lippert build frame......
I don't know. Our friends didn't mention it
No, it’s a BAL frame.
bruh, you need a redbull
frame flex? I know the larger ones have an issue. I don't trust Grand Design
This Frame is a BAL frame
I was truly excited about this travel trailer hits all areas for us until I saw the small refrigerator 👎
I would say don't let that discourage you. We've had smaller fridges for the past 7 years AND were living out of the campers for most of that time and there was no issue. You just learn how to pack it and utilize the space.
We’ve been pleased with the size of the fridge. The fact that it’s 12 volt was huge for us.
@@toddreimer1158 Agree. Adjusting to a small fridge has been easy, plus we tend to eat fresher foods as a result.
The fridge is 5.7 cubic feet I think it will actually hold a lot of food, and it has a nice bottom pull out freezer
I can't for 2 weeks at a time using a 3 cubic foot refrigerator with a teeny tiny freezer, so this will be a wonderful huge upgrade for me. it will not significantly change when I pack but rather will allow me to have more water in my fridge to have it cold, and ice cream and other things in my freezer
Cameras, Max Aire fans are optional I believe. You neglected to state the year of manufacture as well. Looked like a plastic commode, that is a HARD pass for me . People should also be aware of the lack if solar. Even if you maxed out the roof space with another solar panel you will only be at about 400watts. To successfully boondock off grid you should have no less than a thousand watts of solar panels as well as more battery storage. This is clearly not designed for extended off-grid use.
Even though some of the features are nice most small trailers are very cheaply made.
Ice maker in the bathroom🤢 🤮
Manufacturers just keep adding more and more happy crap to their products...profit. More stuff to break and feed the future repair department. Overseas cheap unreliable happy crap components. JUNK!
