No, I wouldn't say it's more polite than "ho bisogno di", they are just all different ways to say "I need", with some different nuances. "Devo" could mean "I need" but also "I have to"; so we wouldn't use that when we need something from someone else (you can still use that for sth you need to t
do). I'm taking a note for a future video, though, I know this can be very confusing!

Hi Valentina is it ok to swop Mi Servano with Ho Bisogno ?
Yes, most of the times you can. But "mi servono" is only for plural (so when what you need is more than one thing), singular form is "mi serve". That's why I usually recommend "ho bisogno di" at the beginning, since you don't need to remember to change it.
