Hi Luke,
It was about 13 years ago when I first listened to your podcast. I was very interested in British music, culture and accent back then. Then I studied English in Edinburgh for a year. (As I remember, when I was there I messaged you on Facebook and you replied to me!)
Anyway, found a partner there, have my own English school in Japan, and then I started my podcast being inspired by you!
Your podcast gave me good inspiration. And still is!
Thank you, and I'll keep on listening to your podcast 🎙️
Hello Luke, I am glad I watch your podcasts - Thanks to you I have learnt a lot of about british literature and bought some!
Such a perfect Video to watch after Lunch...Since I only watch UA-cam on my TV, I made myself a cup of tea (Here in Spain We also drink Tea)sit comfortably on the Sofa and I watched the whole Video. It was even better than watching a movie and definitely easier to understand.Well done. Thanks so much for your dedication and keep on posting Videos like these👍
Hi Jose, I'm Vivek from 🇮🇳 India...wanna come to Spain...recently my education visa been rejected...
Is there a chance to get into Spain via job?
Could you please help....how can I?
You are right friend, God will open a door for you today no matter how poor or rejected you are 🙏
Jose, tocayo! Same here but having a beer instead of a cup of tea 👍
@@Sportingalagrieska Great, enjoy drinking that well iced beer but don't forget doing your daily English Homework.... "pisha" 🌟
@@ujwaljagtap8681 You welcome. The first thing I do in the morning, before anything else, it's just drink two cups of Tea (mostly Black Tea) and after "siesta" (Spanish short nap) I have another Tea cup. So. Three cups during the whole day and so far so good 🍵
I am crazy about Kate's accent, love the way she speaks , please bring her again,
Hi, Luke!
This is Yuri from Kyiv, Ukraine. I have a National University Diploma (The English language and literature, translator, interpreter, and teacher).
I did not see myself teaching English after the uni, but I have obtained a lot of experience in translating and interpreting. In the 90-ies I used to work as a manager for big companies, including abroad, including India and Singapore. Communication with English-speaking Indians and Chinese had a bad effect on my pronunciation, though most of the people I dealt with were well-educated top managers. Unfortunately, I have never been either to UK or to USA. American English sounds somewhat unnatural to me, I often struggle to understand it, whilst all the words are well-known to me. On the other hand, British English is like a music to my ear. I enjoy listening to native British very much. That is why I often get to the educational UA-cam channels. Among Lucy, Harry, Greg, and others I came across your channel. Now, you are #1 for me. Firstly, your London pronunciation with a slight hint of ‘Oxford stutter’ sounds perfect (as it appears to me). Secondly, your content is always interesting, profound, and meaningful. Good job, Luke, thank you so much!
We, Ukrainians are very grateful to the people of UK, Mr. Boris and Mr. Rishi for your support and standing up with us in this rough and challenging time. By joint efforts, we will defeat the evil, no doubt.
Thank you ever so much!
By the way, I have a question related to the subtleties of English. Sting in one of his well -known sons sings ‘He does not play for the money he wins, he don’t play for respect’. Of course, it’s all about semantics and connotation, but I don’t have a clue what exactly he means here. Would appreciate if you can clarify.
Regards, Yuri.
I really like to get along well with these podcasts of you my friend.
I'm a Venezuelan, and every day I go to work I'm listening to these podcasts in order to improve my English skills while I'm walking for almost 30 minutes.
What a nice journey, doesn't it? Thank you, and keep ahead with this project 🎦 you've taught me a lot so far
A hug 🤗. And never stop dreaming
Luke thank You for the great podcast! 😊 I really admire that You can do so many tasks and have energy to help us in learning English!

Lovely and light conversation 👍
I am from Colombia (North Corner in South America). I discovered your channel just a few weeks ago, and now you are my companion while I do my house chores. I love the British accent. At first, I had some issues for understand you, but finally, I'm used. Thank you for your dedication, passion, and your humor sense. Great asses with your guest, Kate, in this video. All the best wishes and long life to your channel.
Hi Luke!
This video is fascinating!
I loved it!
Greetings from Chile.
Chile is the Latin American country with the most British ancestry.
Reason why, Chile is the Latin American country with the highest per capita cosumption of tea.
And also, it is the only country in Latin America where the cosumption of tea exceeds that of coffee.
We Chileans love to drink tea at any time of the day. In the morning, in the afternoon at night…
We usually drink approximately 4-5 cups f tea daily.
And just like in the UK, here in Chile we also drink milk tea. Although, not all Chileans like.
Some prefer tea without milk.
It is said that it was a British sailor who gave a packet of tea to a neighbour in the city of Valparaíso.
In the past, here in Chile people used to drink yerba mate. There are still some Chileans who consume it.
The British instilled in our country the custom of drinking tea. Because they didn’t really like drinking yerba mate.
Another reason why tea consumption became very popular here in Chile, is because in 1767 there was a tax on the consumption of yerba mate, in order to pay for the construction of the Cal y Canto bridge. Therefore, the English, who were already installed in a large part of Chile, took over the importation and distribution of tea in our country.
we r learning really fast and much

And Luke is the Duke! 😎
Thank you both for this amazing video! The part about the British Council did draw my attention since I want to be a trainer, I mean for adults in businesses. I have created an account because there are so many educationa contents, that's creazy.
Eager to listen to you in another podcast 👍💜
I anticipate your class in the morning day in and out. Thank for your enthusiasm!
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Actually laughed out loud. 😂 Thank you both. She's hilarious.
I'm a Korean. So I'm going to try explaining things that confused you.
A blood type group 'worry about nothing' must be meant to be 'worry about petty things' .
And toilet papers as housewarming present has a deeper meaning than giving necessities. It's a symbolic present wishing that everything will go well, like toilet paper roll unwinds well. 잘풀리다 means both go well and unwind well.
Am I making sense? So we think of A blood type a worrier as you said. ;)
kam sa mi tar
Greetings to you from Morocco🇲🇦
Enjoyed the conversation a lot❤
Love you both! Like usual, you were so very brilliant, so was your guest!
wasn`t feeling my best, but this video brightened up my day quite a bit
thank you, Wizard Luke, for your hard work!
much love from Bulgaria!
When Kate asked you who has made the most appearances in your podcast, I took that as a sign that she is willing to vie to be among the top tier. Let's bring her in more Luke. I love her posh accent.
Hi, Luke! A warm welcome from Ireland 🇨🇮❤
To clarify my earlier comment about toilet paper as a housewarming gift, the phrase 잘풀리다 (well-unwinding) has a meaning that things work well or go well.
The gift of toilet paper is seen as a wish for the new homeowners to have good luck and success in their new home. 😅
Amazing chat. Beautiful guest besides sharp witted. Can do maths in miliseconds. Shocked Luke makes her explain the way how she got that number proves that it was not a shot in the dark. When she asks for the most visited guest to the podcast she clarifies the question by adding 'other than you' shows us she knows Luke's sense of humor absolutely well. Top level comunication between two friends know eachother very well. Absolute pleasure to watch on UA-cam.
Fantastic job Luke, keep it up, this is by far the best material for English learners :)
Thank you. Her voice is lovely. Could you please do more padcast with her.
I would always listening to your podcast Luke and already for 7 years approximately. But this one was amazing to watch and actually was my first time watching, except some earliest one about ways how to say I like smth. Thanks a lot!!!

Hello Luck. I'm glad I cought you were talking about my comment in 2 podcast. ( asking about your redness on your face😁). It was 100% friendly comments as you are one of my English teacher. as students we concern about our teachers, 😊. All your camara setting and pod room settling 100% ok for my eyes. She is really cool, so much so that I get distracted, can't focus on whatever you're talking about and just enjoy the sound of your conversation. Greetings from Salento, in the south of Italy

Greetings from🇩🇪🇵🇱
Yes. All of Korean will be younger on Aug this year!! I will younger one year soon🎉🎉🎉
This episode was actually pretty good ❤
Kate is awesome ❤🇧🇩
Thank you very much!!!
She has a wonderful voice and pronunciation , woww
Nice to listen your podcast. Classification of books by their colours is the most simplest way, the books ought to be classified by their subjects to make some sense to find them quickly for reference. Yes, if someone just keeps books in ones shelf as a decoration piece then classifying by colours is justified and these looks beautiful. I am a fan of your speaking style.
Cheers from Brazil, São Paulo, Suzano
Just wanted to thank you and Kate for having such a nice conversation. Kate is just marvelous, isn't she? But I have to give my support to Luke regarding the distinction between paranoia and worry in that paranoia is on a much higher scale than worry but they're basically the same thing. :)
About the toilet paper story, it is true😊
The reason is because the verbs have the same pronounce.
- unwrap a tissue
- work out well
If you say those two sentences in Korean, they have the same verb😅
Happy new year dear Luke
Best wishes ❤
great episode!
I love your podcast. ❤
why Korean gives someone the toilet paper for the gift of the housewarming party is we hope that, as if toilet paper is easy to roll down, your life like is going to be alright, and go through without a hitch, like toilet paper being rolled down, in your new house to be better than in the old house, which has this meaning.
I had learned English in the British Council in Korea before I listened this podcast. And as Korean, I listened interestingly this episode of two of you. You've been very helpful for my listening practice. Thank you.
my favorite podcast ever
I quite enjoyed listening to this pod. Iove her accent.
After a long time break, hello again teacher Luke!
Time to get a wild ride with LEP.
I from Ukraine and I want to say thank you so much , I very like your podcast ❤️🔥
I wonder how many Ukrainians are lepsters or at least how many of them listen to Luke's podcast or watch it on UA-cam every so often? Greetings from Irpin.

Hi from Uzbekiston🇺🇿🇺🇿
Thank Luke so much.
Have a good Night. 👍
Love from India❤
❤😂🤩 thank You
Thanks ❤
Love this animated discussion about paranoia. And in this dispute I would rather backup Luke's point of view.
Kate is really cool, bring her back :)
I'm Iranian and new member here .
As a curiosity, it's true that in Spanish bassoon is called "fagot" but the stress falls on the last syllable so it is pronounced as "faɣOT". The G in the middle is not like the g sound in English but is actually like the letter غ (ghayn) sound in Arabic. That's why I didn't understand a first what instrument Kate was referring to when she said the insult.
love your channel
Good job 😊
The funny thing is (I'm a Korean.) even before you said it, I thought you might be a Blood type A person. haha,,😜
Koreans enjoy that kind of conversation and have ability that expect someone's blood type.🤣 I don't mean the character of Blood type A you mentioned exactly matches you. It's just feeling.
Anyway, Thank you for the great podcast. I laughed a lot.
I understand the expression "they worry about nothing" in a way that people do worry about "nothing" i.e. about unnecessary things
My mom likes both of your accents 😊
Thanks .❤
Watching you from Pakistan🇵🇰
Hi^^ How are you~! I’m a Korean listener. I want to try to say is that your mention is correct about house warming ~ and age stuff ~!! I was interested about you gays taking ^^ thank you always ^^
Thanks for another valuable and interesting podcast as always, Luke!
Btw, does anyone know any podcasts that are similar to Luke's English podcast but in American English? As long as they're about daily life topics like this one, it's perfect.
I've been finding ways to familiarize myself with American English and this kind of podcast might be a great starter.
If you have any recommendations, please let me know? Thanks a lot, my friends!!
hello Luke! greeting from S.Korea!
💙💛🕊🕊🕊 thanks
Thank you so much bro. I can speak English . But I can't understand a English man's English. After watch your video. I improve my skill
Fagotto is the Italian word for bassoon as well.
