- Hello and welcome to Train Simulator 2022!
Today we're taking a trip along the Midland Mainline expansion between Newark Northgate and Lincoln Central. We'll be starting our journey today on electric mode as we pull round the corner into Newark Northgate, where we will then change to diesel mode for the remainder of the journey through to Lincoln Central.
Our unit is of course the fantastic Armstrong Powerhouse Class 800 enhancement, in the striking LNER livery. This service is operated between London Kings Cross and Lincoln Central on an every 2 hour basis.
Personally I really like this pack. I think for the money there is great value, given how many liveries and routes you can operate this train on.

Can’t believe I just sat and watched a video of a route I sign in real life - honestly tempted to pick this up but the accuracy is really good.
To answer a few things.
The loops outside of Lincoln sit on the site of the former Holmes Goods Yard, there’s a lot of freight traffic Doncaster - Peterborough via Lincoln nowadays so they get looped there sometimes. We also use them for passenger services as Lincoln can get congested with only 3 through platforms so they use the fast and slow loops to keep services in the right order. We don’t tend to do west end shunts much, most go via the Grimsby line to the east in and out of the bay platforms but things can shunt via East Holmes if necessary.
LNER and predecessors ran the HSTs using a mix of grandfather rights and locking the front few coaches out at Newark. You couldn’t reserve the quiet coach to or from Lincoln as it wasn’t platformed.
The Lincoln - Peterborough line rejoins the ECML at Werrington Jn just north of Peterborough where the new flyunder is.
I lived in Lincoln for quite a while and am really surprised at how much they got right! The only thing missing is the bridge next to the Brayford!
This game is still a fantasy for me 😂, but I'm getting close to it. It's great that someone who knows the route is driving and commentating it. 😁😁
I don’t know the route 🤣 I was making it up as I went along and hoping for the best haha
Damn man, u nailed it though 😂😂😜
Very kind of you to say! Thank you 🤣 glad you enjoyed it
C mon dude, it's your video which helps me relax, I'm thankful to you. 😁
With the HSTs at Lincoln not all carriages could stop on the platform, I believe the leading powercar (London End) would stop on the station platform (so the first class passengers could board easier?) and then for standard class you'd have carriages F and G on the platform with the rest off (I think some of E as on the platform too but I might be mistaken..)
Hello already a banger
Hi Joe! Love your videos and the AP pack is a must have 👍.
Just curious: What settings do you use because I have max graphics applied and its not quite as crisp as yours and whenever a train flies past I always get the annoying clacking sound afterwards.
Eg. Pendolino goes blasting past at 125mph and you get the whizzing and the slow drone out for a second or so before it's taken over by the "gadunk gadunk gadunk" noise.
These Lincon services used to terminate at Newark Northgate before heading back to Kings X
Me when I live in Collingham looking at this game: 😮
Hello, i wonder how you could open the Speed Set? I pressed "Ctrl" and "." for many times (according to the manul) but it was still OFF.
I have ridden a few times on these Azumas, personally I think the Hitachi train is very over-rated and the seats aren't very comfortable either, like you said, you can't travel anywhere without seeing one. I can't figure why Avanti didn't go for the Frecciarossa, a far superior train (IMO)
I might go from London to Lincoln Lincoln to London and then London to Peterborough
That’s a fair leg!
@@JoeDobsongaming So my journey may take around 2hrs 35min or 3h
@@JoeDobsongaming Did you go from London to Lincoln and then desided to start the video at Newark (Thats where i live)
Hi Joe! Quick question what are the door controls, that's the only thing that is throwing me with this train.
Because im gonna maybe play this game for 2hrs 35min
the ap packs with door control dont work i can cntrl + r but it does nothing how to fix
nice vid but can u do more omsi please:D
Leicester to Grimsby town is 1 an hour
You don’t always realise quite how far it is do you 🤣
@@JoeDobsongaming i was ment to say an hourly service from liecester to grimsby
Ahhhhh I’ve gotcha!
@@jonny-simulation-gamer It's hourly from Leicester to Lincoln, with the Grimsby service every other hour (09, 11, 13, etc.). A general pattern for the service looks like this:
0944 Leicester to Grimsby Town
1043 Leicester to Lincoln Central
1143 Leicester to Grimsby Town
1243 Leicester to Lincoln Central
1338 Leicester to Grimsby Town
*Service skips Lincoln Central service*
1539 Leicester to Grimsby Town
1643 Leicester to Lincoln Central
1743 Leicester to Cleethorpes
*Service skips Lincoln Central service*
1944 Leicester to Cleethorpes
2041 Leicester to Lincoln Central
The service through to Cleethorpes calls at the same stops as Grimsby Town bound services, only extending to Cleethorpes in the evenings.
Lol get yourself up steep hill in lincoln mate you'll change your mind lol
Or kill him
Where’s the repaint from?
Links in the description as always 😀
