Thank you for this video, very helpful. I'm also thinking about buying the buttkicker concert and have wondered how to attach it to the seat. Is this base plate, the screws and the needed cable to connect it to an amp included in the delivered package?
I believe I bought it all separately and made the cables myself. I just checked for you and it looks like they’ve discontinued the mounting bracket, but have a free CAD file - to have it made.
Thanks for the info. Seriously considering getting one. Seems like over the years my hearing has gone kaput in those lower frequencies. Would love to try a more tactile feedback approach.
Thanks for your video Jeremy! This helped understand a little bit more about this and possibly other variations that would or wouldn’t work. I ended up getting a Buttkicker concert and Behringer 3000 D. Now to understand how best to connect to my seat. Appreciate your insight!
Hey Brian, Jeremy isnt responding. I have a similar setup, but nothing is working. Do you have a link to show the routing of all this? thats the ONE thing that is NOT in this video. He says running the output from mixer to the buttkicker, and Ive tried that. Nothing is working. I have a nice working mic, mixer also works fine and the amp is a brand new Behringer NX3000 standard amp.
@@echoface1670 Let’s see if I can point you in a direction to help. Your signal will come from mic/feed plugged into the input of the Behringer. From there output of the Behringer goes to the Buttkicker. I assume you probably have that all set. The trick is to fine-tune the frequency of your kick and boost it. I have the Behringer NX 3000 D and is so much easier to find and raise that frequency amongst other small but much needed parameters. Let me check also whether my unit is bridged or other information I can toss your way…
Hey Jeremy, great video Thanks for making it as you are right. There is not much out there on this set up. I have the exact same setup, and I’m curious as to what settings you used on the NX3000D to get it set up correctly for the Buttkicker? Buttkicker just came out with a new amp however it’s $600…. Thanks again!
I believe that when you tried that P&D Throne at that shop the problem must have been that it was connected to the drum module and was leaking the whole drumset into the drum throne. A better way would probably be to isolate the bassdrum from the rest of the kit and only send the bassdrum to the throne. How do you do that on a drum module? I have no idea but I'm sure there's a way. Another way would be to use a small module for only bassdrums like the Roland TM-2, send it to the drum throne and then connect the TM-2 to the main module via Midi. Or perhaps there an eq on the P&D amp where you could filter out any frequencies above bassdrum level?
Hi Jeremy. Great video. Thanks for that. Some quick questions. I ordered the fisher amp 400 kit with the buttkicker LFE. What do u think is better for a drummer... The LFE or the concert? Any differences in feel? Do u use just the kickdrum with the buttkicker or could u feel the whole kit with that kicker? Just wondering what makes more sense, just the kick or the whole drumkit? Would appreciate if u could help me out with my questions. Thanks in advance. Greetings from germany.
Great question. I've read reviews online that said Concert and the LFE are very similar, but I've not had experience with the LFE. I went with the concert because I'm solely using it on stage right now. I run my full monitor mix through the amp and use the crossover built into the amp. With my personal IEM mix going to the buttkicker, I get 80% kick drum and bass guitar. I get a little of my toms, but not much. When I first set it up, I played with the crossover to get it where I liked it and I found to get more toms into the buttkicker I was getting too much other stuff above the kick drum range. At that point the buttkicker became muddy (more of a constant vibration) with less punch from the kick. For me the kick drum is the primary thing I like, but I do like having the bass guitar in there too, and there are times I look over at the bassist like "dammmmm" because of the the way the low end feels!
@@jeremydrummer3017 please describe the routing. I am driving myself crazy trying to get this thing to work and finding no online links to routing diagrams. It should be super simple but nothing is working so far.
That's a beautiful kit. I agree that once you regain your kick during band sessions you''ll not want to play without the shaker again. There's something about feeling your kick that helps you lock into the groove and time, especially if you have a loud bass rig next to you. I also agree about the Porter Davies unit. I finally got to try one few months ago and didn't care for it. Thought it would be the cat's ass, but no. I'm using (2) Aurasound shakers under my throne. Was thinking at first it might not be enough but like you I had to dial it down a little. I love the setup though. Today's Class D amps are so light weight now, which is a bonus for gigging. How's the latency using the Buttkicker?
You bet! The larger one with the amplifier is the SKB 2U Studio Flyer www.skbcases.com/industrial/products/prod-detail.php?id=426#.YF81dC2caWY And the other is just a cheap case like you can get at Harbor Freight. I got this one at Sams. They had a pallet of them for like $20, but I haven't seen any more there since I bought this one. Good luck to ya!
I have yet to find anyone who has this setup that (shows) all the routing? What goes where? I dont want to screw up anything. Ive tried with the same Yamaha mixer and my concert series BK into a Behringer NX3000 and still cannot figure it out. Anyone? thanks
You can’t compare the P&D on an ELECTRONIC kit and a Buttkicker on an acoustic kit. P&D beats the Buttkicker hands down and you don’t have all that mess and extra components. I have played and owned both.

Does it transfer a lot of vibrations to the floor as well? Not really suited for apartment style home practice?
This video is awesome.

Couldn't you plug a second butt kicker into the amp?

So, the product should have been renamed as Balls Kicker.
