  • Here I discuss and demonstrate these nearly identical tactile transducers. This is a video for amateur drummers that are looking to augment there earphone mix. An affordable system is described within.

Great video! Looks like there is a knockoff version of the Pearl Throne Thumper called the "Aviom CCT1 Clamp-On Tactile Transducer for Drum Throne". If you google it, it's about $300.

I see that! It's a ButtKicker Advance with crucial mounting bracket. IMO the companion amp from Avion is not powerful enough.

I am definitely interested in investing in one of those although I'm still not very sure if it's not too much stuff on the stage... power amp etc... I still don't get how the whole thing connects to the mic (or trigger) and the amp. Would love a follow up vid on the connection and fine tuning of either one of those. I would definitely want to go for a P&D thumper but the price is almost frightening considering the whole thumping mechanism is inside the throne. I guess the most vfm solution would be a Fisher buttkicker. But yeah... awesome vid! Keep em coming!

Thanks for watching! I was waiting to see if there was any interest before doing more videos on the subject. I'll put something together soon.

do you expect to use a trigger/module, or microphone?

I felt one of these when I played Drums at an Open Mic Jam at Shea's Pub in Florida! The feel of the thing was Awesome but honestly, with the Gigs that I have and the amount of gear that I already have to bring it's too much!!! Not worth the Kick!

@@rhssrcontent3373 definitely a trigger... I've heard that microphones usage with these are prone to misfires... I don't know if that's true or not but I do feel that trigger usage with a module (I already got a Roland TD17KVX) is safer.

@@cactusstudiossouth Acknowledged. I refined the system to one lightweight 6U rack case housing Alesis drum module and amplifier. Cables were set, and all I had to do was connect. Still, it was extra stuff and a few minutes added.

Can you use these with my electronic kit, without using a Drum Mic, and if so, could you split the signal with floor toms also? I want to get more percussive feel when practicing on my Alesis Strike Pro Kit, at low volume. Thanks.

yes you can use with e-Kit! Add floor tom to the output that you send to amplifier. But resonant floor toms will cause much vibration in Buttkicker. It was too much for me.

@@rhssrcontent3373Thank you. So you’re suggesting to use them on only the Electronic Bass Drum and maybe on my Electronic Gong Drum and not the Floor Tom’s? I’m wanting to use the dual triggers on my Tom’s to activate the Snare Strand Buzz, and some Cymbal Bleed on the other Rack Tom’s. Just for more realistic resonance sounds. If it’s too much could I turn the volume down on the RT & FT’s. I appreciate any advice and input. Also, do you need a separate dedicated amp? Or do they have their own amplification? Thanks again.

It’s the discontinued Behringer iNuke 1000, with 300w/channel at 4 ohms. 1000 watts in bridge mode.
