are the bees you collect strictly honey bees? I’m starting to learn about bees and found out there is something like 20k types of bees. And some are specialized pollinators needed for certain types of crops. Like almonds (84% of the world’s almonds come from California and bees are trucked in to pollinate.

After a Similar episode at a school removal I now tape paper bags over smoke detectors - I also now put a sign on my van as some people reported us to the police when we used ladders to access a roof of a bank carrying a saws-all (the bank guard & alarm company knew) but 6 police cars still was a major interruption. Good size job with nice bees. Always wanting to learn: what’s the deal with not framing up the brood late July. I lost the cutout brood early July to hive beetles and wonder if July is just off limits or what.

I am wondering the same thing - why not put the brood, larva and eggs into frames to put with the bees when you get them home - or where you are cutting them out?

Great video! How many bees die when you vacuum them? On my first one, taking them out of a fallen tree, I got 6 pounds of bees and about 2 ounces of dead ones. The queen either died when the tree fell or when I vacuumed her up. :-((

Why is it necessary to separate the queen? What will you do with her once you found and separated her?

Its really interesting that when you were able to just start Vacuuming up those bees after finding the queen that the bees almost became a liquid XD Them just flopping all over the place.
