are the bees you collect strictly honey bees? I’m starting to learn about bees and found out there is something like 20k types of bees. And some are specialized pollinators needed for certain types of crops. Like almonds (84% of the world’s almonds come from California and bees are trucked in to pollinate.
No matter how many bee videos I watch I am still astounded that anyone does this kind of work with no protective gear, and somehow doesn't get stung to death.
as someone who is fatally allergic to bees your channel has really helped me overcome part of my phobia for bees and have a certain appreciation for them. that being said you're an absolute madman. great vid mate and great channel

Never thought I'd be watching videos of a guy vacuuming bees lol but here we are. I absolutely love how humane and educational y'all are and I'll never stop being amazed at how incredible bees are 🐝💖
After a Similar episode at a school removal I now tape paper bags over smoke detectors - I also now put a sign on my van as some people reported us to the police when we used ladders to access a roof of a bank carrying a saws-all (the bank guard & alarm company knew) but 6 police cars still was a major interruption. Nice Job! "They have only been there two weeks" - if I had a dollar......

Same here I did drywall for 15 yrs and those detectors I’d always leave them taped over only to get a call a week later The worst is when you hit the paraffin vial on the sprinklers with a scissor lift those have cost me dearly lol

It really does amaze me you can usually find these queen bees in these cut outs! I sometimes have trouble finding them in hive boxes and I KNOW they're there and they don't have so many places to run and hide! I sometimes tease you about the queen hunt but it really does amaze me you find them most of the time. That was a nice, big hive! Always love getting to watch you do cut outs!
I randomly stumbled across this video/channel while killing time. When he goes to to Tractor Supply, I thought that it looked amazingly like the TSC in North Gulfport, MS. But, they probably all look similar, right? Then I clicked his store link and what do you know? He's a local. Kind of scary that I can recognize our TSC at a glimpse like that... Good work my man! You are a lot more brave around those bees than I am... Now THAT's a good honest living. God bless.

Good size job with nice bees. Always wanting to learn: what’s the deal with not framing up the brood late July. I lost the cutout brood early July to hive beetles and wonder if July is just off limits or what.
I am wondering the same thing - why not put the brood, larva and eggs into frames to put with the bees when you get them home - or where you are cutting them out?
Great video! How many bees die when you vacuum them? On my first one, taking them out of a fallen tree, I got 6 pounds of bees and about 2 ounces of dead ones. The queen either died when the tree fell or when I vacuumed her up. :-((
Its really interesting that when you were able to just start Vacuuming up those bees after finding the queen that the bees almost became a liquid XD Them just flopping all over the place.
I'm always amazed at how you can see the queen in all that chaos.

Depends on your location I guess. I keep bees in Trinidad and we have africanized bees, so bee suits are compulsory.

There were pry marks on the door where someone had been trying to get in. Robber bees maybe?

Thanks Kevin. We got all the stragglers as well as a few thousand bees from other colonies. Nothing like adding to an already huge colony.
We saw a sign warning hikers and bikers there was a swarm on the trestle bridge, I was half tempted to go see if I could get a look!
