I was in front of the TV on Monday night when their show started in '66. Now at 69 I'm thankful to see more of their concert here than I ever got to see back then...thank you!😊
The Monkees sure were dynamic on this tour. I wonder if their audiences fully appreciated the energy and musicianship in addition to the classic Monkees shenanigans? What a special and unique band.
I saw the Monkees in the summer of "67 at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, this footage brings back great memories of a great show. I appreciate the work you put into editing, Thanks!!
I am a Monkeys fan but sometimes I wonder how much they actually played their instruments. Some live footage had definitely back up musicians. Not that it really mattered the music is still cool.
They fully played everything on tour. Each monkee had 1 solo spot that used a backup band to support them in the more intimate setting except Peter who did his solo spot with his beloved banjo and no band
Wow! That is so cool! Oh my gosh, this looks like a great concert! I would really have loved to see them on stage back then, but I was just born in 67. I love The Monkees since the first time I heard them and saw them on tv🎶🎶😎📺
Yes, like what? Some of us fans are happy to help! (At the end are their 4 solo numbers. Never recorded in a studio but released on the "Live 1967" album. Peter's "Cripple Creek", Davy's "Gonna Build a Mountain", Mike's "Can't Judge a Book by The Cover", Micky's "I Got A Woman". 😉
Dang I wish there was more Monkee concert footage other than their January 1967 performance in Arizona and the Salt Lake City performance footage they used for their film Head in 1968 I hope more footage of Monkee concerts will show up maybe going back to their first tour in Hawaii in 1966
This is a trip to see! My mom always talked about seeing them in 1967 in Jacksonville, Florida. Girls were scared of Jimi Hendrix because he lit his guitar on fire. Lol I was raised on the rerun episodes in the 80's on MTV. When they toured in mid 90's my mom took me to a few shows. I was even able to meet them at a book signing. It was something that will always bring a smile to me face and help me feel close to my mom again who passed away. Thank you so much for uploading this!
I was at a number of concerts back in the day, but waaaay back then, video equipment was cumbersome at best, and cameras, well you could bring your instamatic but probably not get a good photo, that's why there isn't a ton of 'home' footages of concerts until the late 90's
Just discovered this! It's wonderful! In 1967 I was six years old. My Dad would take me to the record store and I'd ask if there were any new Monkees 45's. Thank you for your hard work on this! It's wonderful! Athough Micky and the others have described their concert set list from then hearing them play and sing....it's awesome. Shame on those who said they were fake.
This is too cool! I wasn't even born yet in 67 but this gives me a glimps of their earlier shows, Thank you for sharing♥. It would be awesome to be able to see a full live concert of them from 67.I'm wondering if it exisit?
Amazing footage and fantastic job with the sync!! Particularly during 'Forget That Girl'! I think the last song is I'm a Believer' though, not 'Steppin' Stone'? Also, is Nez playing a different guitar than usual? Maybe someone can clue me in...
@@derianimp I'm sorry, I was wrong. In the Monkees' album "Summer '67 The Complete U.S. Concert Recordings", the Spokane Coliseum concert audio is the same that you used in your video. ASTELLAR!!!! I love how MIke is letting loose and grooving! WOW! SO COOOOOOOL!!!! AMAZING! That is why I watchd them since IW as three !!!! Kim
Forget that Girl. What a song! They performed it really well on the 1967. As good as any British Invasion pop love song, IMO.
It's always puzzled me that despite how phenomenally huge they were that there is such little official live footage of them.
Same

It also puzzles me how so many people claim to be Monkees fans but write their name as The Monkeys.

Their music was versatile and I love it
Amazing! I'm just realizing how many songs the Monkees did in concert that they never officially recorded & released

There is footage of them in Australia. I need to finish syncing that.
@@derianimp How cool!
I wonder how much footage exists of the January concert in Arizona. My guess is the entire show was filmed.

I loved Peter and the Banjo hehe 😃😃
Awesome footage. Amazing snapshot of Monkeemania at its peak.
This is later in 1967, look at Micky's hair. Also Peter's solo spot in 1966 was "Shimmy Like My Sister Kate" MrZer0
I really love Micky’s curly hair 😍😍😍😍✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️!!!!
I remember how incredibly popular these guys were then. I was 8 yrs old and thought they were the greatest thing since the Beatles. LOL
Thanks so much... Never have I been able to attend a concert... So grateful so be able to enjoy these... You are appreciated!

Yes, Davy played bass on "I'm a Believer" but not on "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone"

Dec 3rd 1967
I don’t think they had any tours at that time
It says on the album
Is Peter playing guitar as Mike sings “Can’t judge a book?” Very hard driving rhythm.
Not sure. It might be the band Candystore Prophets”
I had the same question at first but I watched through it a few times and his face shape isn’t like Peters. So I don’t think so.
I bet that the kids would rather see them do just Monkees songs.
Someone knows the name of the second song (Dave singin´)?
Forget That Girl
Wonder where this concert was
What's this footage from ?
UA-cam
Why is the editing so choppy?
Because that’s how it was filmed
@@derianimp Wow! Having loved the Monkees since the age of 5, it's exciting to see them perform. But the choppiness makes me choppy! Lol!
