Thanks for the suggestions below! Updating the tips: 5:24 - Tip #1: God pool maxed at 4 normally, but you can force more gods into the pool. 6:58 - Tip #2: While selecting a boon, you can pause and check your codex for synergies before having to make a choice. 8:25 - Tip #3: Zeus' call is a really good choice overall. 9:58 - Tip #4: Duo boons are rarer than Epic, but Legendary boons are rarer than Duo. 11:24 - Tip #5: Selling a Duo-boon prerequisite will disable the Duo only if the function relies directly on the prerequisite boon. 15:00 - Tip #6: Hammers are overprioritized. If you skip a hammer, you can usually find it later. 2 hammers are offered every run and an extra one can be obtained by the anvil in Styx. 15:30 - Tip #7: Hermes' boons are usually lower rarity. May be worth trying to increase their rarity. 17:46 - Tip #8: You're offered a shop in every biome midway usually along with a miniboss. If you skip the shop, its usually offered another shop before the boss of the biome.. 19:24 - Tip #9: You cannot get Duo boons from Trials (rooms with 2 God boons). 20:00 - Tip #10: Each biome always has the same number of rooms. Tartarus has 12 rooms. Asphodel has 10 rooms. Elysium has 12 rooms. Styx has at least 2 chambers before you can reach a sack. For more tips, watch the rest of the video 😉
For Tip #5, I another way to state it is that selling a Duo-boon prerequisite will disable the Duo only if the function relies directly on the prereq boon.
Duos and Legendaries have the same rarity in the sense that they're rolled at the same time and have the same chance of appearing, but you're just less likely to get legendary prerequisites than you are duo prereqs
36:38 Try to keep your rerolls for Hermes ('cause you'll see him only twice and he has some great boons) and for the room after bosses (if you enabled Underworld Customs, to not get forced to sell a vital boon)
"New players love trials" As a new player, I got a trial that was between Aphrodite and another god, and it was my first time ever seeing a trial. I thought "oh hey, 2 boons, sick" and I went into that room. I then proceeded to have one of my first ever runs ended almost instantly because the Aphrodite trial wrecked me. I have taken maybe 1 trial after that in the 35 hours I've played since. I now have a deep fear instilled in me that makes me never take trials, and I disagree with the above statement.
Once I learned which gods have easy trials I started to love them. Constantly picking other gods over Artemis because she's the easiest to fight gives you some really fun voice lines eventually, too
Yeah I'm with you on that homie. When I was a new player I got to a trial and didn't know the gods decided to give Zag a heaping helping of SMITE for not choosing them. If memory serves I got either Zeus or Ares fighting me. In Asphodel. With either the shield shades or butterfly balls. Potentially both. Suffice to say no, I never had fun with trials as a beginner. It wasn't until near end game I started to go into them, more prepared for a fight.
My first trial I remember vividly that i picked a trial of dionysus and used his aid/call against him and instantly unlocked the achievement which is hilarious to me at the time 😂
Dayum, I just cleared my 666th run (not even a joke ^^), watched half your YT content, follow you on Twitch.... and I still learnt 3 important thing in this video. Like the i-frame on call or when to Meg' Tony. Thanks A LOT for taking so much of your time to share your invaluable knowledge.
The lesson: duos and legendaries aren't that rare in terms of RNG, it's just that they're gated behind other boons, so the point is what specific boons you have, particularly early on in the run. That's what sets you up.
37:14 i used spearpoint for a bit when i first got to styx as a sort of training wheel for the satyr poison since it'll give you plenty of time to find/get to the fountain without taking any damage since the stinger will proc it. thats about all its good for i feel
I find the Spearpoint best for preventing those random 200 damage catastrophes, like Dire Gigantic Vermin filling the entire room with poison, or a jury summons end room of all Snakestones where your keyboard controls dash gets stuck on level geometry. If Hades does his room filling lasers right next to a pillar and the beams glitch through it, the Spearpoint will also limit the frustration there. I consider it the compounding BS insurance keepsake
Also nice for when you're learning to deal with Hades' beam. If I have all DDs going into Styx I almost always take Spearpoint just for QoL in the tunnels, though.
I think this video will be super helpful. I didn't realize that in this game it's good to focus on a specific aspect of your kit for a build, I'm coming from Risk of Rain 2 as my first roguelike and in that game it's pretty important to have items balanced between most of your stats to get good runs. I also have never used the codex once so that'll definitely help with planning a build 😅

I've played Hades for a long time and watched a lot of your videos, i considered myself pretty knowledgeable of the game. But this was honestly super helpful, i learned a lot! Thanks! I do have a question though, you didn't choose to fill up the cast slot the entire run. Wouldn't it be better to fill it up so you won't get offered cast boons any more, therefore increasing the chance of getting boons that could be beneficial? Also, i think it would be a great idea to do this kind of video with different builds :)
I just got into Hades a little over a week ago and using the advice in this video just got me a 4 win streak with 4 different weapons! Thanks! Update, I continued playing the next day and continuing from my 4 win streak got a 10 win streak before I lost on the 11th, but seriously thank you! In a typical run, it's only worth pomming a couple of your boons. You'll often get to do this naturally as you go and pomming most things beyond level 3 or 4 is usually overkill because of the diminishing returns. Given that you can't control what the keepsake hits, it's usually just not as good as some other aggressive keepsakes like Bone Hourglass or Hades' keepsake. What do you consider high heat? In a sense yes but they don't have to be. Typically you're focused on one area: attack, special or cast and then you aim for duo boons to supplement that area.
Why are you using the special just next to the objective. You approach to shoot them, but doesn’t it work better whe you have the distance to let the arrows fly? I just play with Chiron because I am sooooooo bad with melee weapons ^^
Yes. Assuming you have maxed out a lot of the game. Which is hard to without getting the strong boons. Which are highly RNG at low level…. So it’s still an RNG game. AND I LOVE IT.

The codex tells you what you need to get duo boons. The rarities do not matter. There are typically 2 prerequisite boons before a duo boon can possibly be offered but it's not guaranteed.

In a sense yes but they don't have to be. Typically you're focused on one area: attack, special or cast and then you aim for duo boons to supplement that area.
Hangover can be really powerful with Rama
I’ve never made it far enough to unlock reroll
Honestly i hate ranged combat so the bow is just not my thing.
I rather use the twin fists, sword or shield
What is the codex’s
It's a tool that Achilles gives you early on that lets you look at information about Boons, characters and items.
Thank you!
Why are you using the special just next to the objective. You approach to shoot them, but doesn’t it work better whe you have the distance to let the arrows fly? I just play with Chiron because I am sooooooo bad with melee weapons ^^
Love the vid already
argument for spearpoint, it lets me damage tank
firts video of you ever
Lightning, doom build is goated. AoE and high (delayed) burst
Very helpful vid
Cuddling the grandpa cat😅
Yes. Assuming you have maxed out a lot of the game. Which is hard to without getting the strong
boons. Which are highly RNG at low level…. So it’s still an RNG game. AND I LOVE IT.
Hi is he plaing with any mods ?
Nope, I will say if I am at the beginning of each video.
@@Haelian thanks!!!!
This is the build i used to beat 32 heat
For Styx, choosing a miniboss door and a normal door in that order most of the time (like 90%) gives you the sack
No it does not, it's a 56% chance to get it on the second path. What the reward is does not matter.
@@Haelian Oh well, that means i were very lucky through most of my runs. I found the most success doing that
Good tips
nice video. youre very large brain
The more i play this game, the more i watch people play it, the more confused i get .
Sooo..if you pick epic boons, they cant become duo boon opportunities later? No that sounds weird ,
how do you even get duo boons,
how do you...
Who am i?
The codex tells you what you need to get duo boons. The rarities do not matter. There are typically 2 prerequisite boons before a duo boon can possibly be offered but it's not guaranteed.

I legit stopped watching after about 10 minutes because I didn't even understand the words you were saying. lol. I haven't beaten Hades once yet, so everything you said went soooooo far over my head....:(
Sorry to hear that, it's probably for the best for you to experience the game a bit more before you dive into this stuff.
;)
Wait, am I about to do the ultimate cringe?
Yes, yes I am.
First.
nah its fine bro
