60 years old and Don still sang with the same beautiful voice he had as a teen. Fantastic! Oddly enough this is not even close to my favorite genre of music, but some performers transcend musical style and touch your heart. I grew up in the fifties listening to the R&B and doo-wop on the radio. I've never forgotten the Everly brothers, they have always been the standard for close harmony singing. In my opinion they've never been equaled. Your songs will live forever!
Rest in the arms of the Angels, Don Everly. I know you and Phil are singing in Heaven's choir. Kentucky loves you. Thank you for your wonderful music and never forgetting your roots.
So sad to hear about Don passing on yesterday. This is a beautiful song. Miss their music. I listen to it most every night on you tube. Rip Everlys. What a gift you gave the world.
I'm from the UK, how great is it to come across this, beautiful harmonic singing, the Everly Brothers have been the story of my life from the late fifties. Kentucky I miss big time, never been there, the song sends me back...
Have loved these two brothers since the 50's and I still play their music nearly every day... I never tire of it gosh I miss Phil....RIP Phil you beautiful man.....Thanks so much for posting. It's always nice to see these types of things. BLess you Don, I am sure you must miss Phil very much
Don and Phil did not get along at all especially as they got older. Hadn't spoken in years at the time of Phil's death. According to Don it was political stuff
The gentleman who taught Don science got it RIGHT when referring to him as GENUINE ...What else could you expect from a SOLID SON OF THE SOUTH ..GOD BLESS YOU PHIL AND YOUR FAMILY... FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART THANKS TO THE EVERLY'S
"Kinda casual"....sure, Don (crush since I was 9) I'll just sing along with you kinda casual like. I'd not be able to emit a sound, Tim Farmer was absolutely rich...singing in harmony with the master....such is the joy I'd be overcome with. Thanks for this show. Very sweet. Historian and kin from Northern Kentucky...I love this a lot.
Wow. Way to go Tim Farmer. You more than held your own singing with Don. Harmonies close to Phil's range and in key. Impressive. I'd be somewhat overwhelmed at the task of merging vocals but Tim sounds great. Losing Phil was difficult. I grew up to the music of the Everly brothers. None better.
+kilts4u2 Hey, yes....the loss is hurting. I loved the Everlys since I was 9, and had also just appeared singing on stage (Perry Como tune)....a gift from the angels, the harmony these brothers could produce.
Wow... good on that Tim fellow to have such an opportuhity. I would absolutely be in heaven to have the change to sing harmonies with Don. He did well too :)
I’m not familiar with Tim Farmer but I was so impressed with how well he sang with Don. That must have been just a bit daunting. Well done, Tim. Nice to see Don in such good spirits, too, during that interview.
Thanks for posting this delightful interview and singing session with Don Everly. This was about seven years after I met Don for the second time. A warm, gracious musician and man.
I saw both brothers in concert, in Birmingham England, at the Nec, I was at the front, took my breath away, their voices were 2nd to none, so so wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both rest in peace!!!! 😘🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Been a fan of the brothers since 1957 when I first heard "Bye,Bye, Love", and was lucky enough to have seen them in concert in the late '90's. Don can still sing, boy, do we miss Phil. I listen to their songs and remember those days long ago that are tied together, for me, forever. RIP Phil. JN
Wow, this is the first time I’ve seen this. Awesome! I think of some Everly Brothers song every time I see the big Central City water tower off the WK Parkway when I’m headed that way from the Jackson Purchase.
I so miss Phil. I grew up with them. Phil and i share the same bday. He was 8 years older. My heart goes out to Don. Glad they did the reunion. Imsawmthem when I was 16 in Daytona Beach. I play their music dailey. Never get tired of the wonderful harmonies.
R.I.P. Don Everly. I just created a page for Don and Phil : Bye Bye Love ~ The Incomparable Everly Brothers Fan Group. It is a labor of love. Come join me there.
To : Doniel Everly ---- Fare thee well, Don , and "may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."We'll always love you. Doniel , are you a relative ? If so , I am so sorry for your loss. ---- Sharon in South Florida and someone whose earliest memories of the radio in 1956 and 1957 were of my older brother and sister singing along with the Everly Brothers.
To : Dyn Jarren ---- Neil Diamond loved the Everly Brothers and was influenced by them --- same with the BeeGees.Of course, the BeeGees were known for their brother harmony too. Also the Beach Boys. Now Barry Gibb has put out a countrified collaboration of BeeGees hits in January , 2021 , but Maurice put out a solo album of country inspired songs in the early 1970s. I think those hills shown in this video are actually West Virginia ! Ha-ha ! ( just kidding --- don't hit ....) ---- Sharon in South Florida ( but a West Virginia woman forever )
Don Everly still had it in this video-the handsome looks, the charming voice, the absolute charisma. Rest In Peace, Don Everly. You will be missed.
