My two cents on this are that this watch is, at a glance, gorgeous. I love the box Crystal, I love the dial and agree with you about them not cluttering it up with superfluous text. I’m still really disappointed by PD’s attempt at lume. But this really is a lovely piece! Thank you Olivier!
After a couple of misses (speedmaster and seamaster homages) looks like they have another winner here. Having already successfully done the Daytona style before for a number of years helps I am sure
When I buy a watch I have only 3 things that I look at. 1 ) Does it look good ? 2 ) Is it fully functional ? 3 ) Is it affordable ? If it ticks those 3 boxes, I'm totally interested. Like this Pagani very much 👍

It's nice enough, but my Pagani 1707 AP Homage quartz arrived just before Christmas and hasn't been off my wrist since. It has only lost 1 second in that time. What more could I want for the money? Thanks for putting me onto it.
Mate, you have to disengage the easy link sweaty day extension to get access to the micro adjust spring bar. But be aware some of them are very stiff and almost impossible to disengage. The watch itself looks good and is one of the better offerings from Pagani Design I have to say.
Have the Alpha with Venus 175 based ST1901 on a ABP bund with "DRIVE CAREFULLY ME" on the inside. The crock strap costs 5-6 times as much as the watch. Its a real column wheel, and that is the main reason why I chose it. I bought the strap because I drive on track really love that Paul was a real driver. Felt inspired. It´s important that its a manual wind column wheel chrono. Just my opinion.
@@Horologique its 20mm on the strap side, holes for quick switch, metal band is better but similar to the original 60’s band. Display case so you can see the movement. Safire back and front. Finally keeps +4 second time for mine at least.
@@Horologique looked forever for an original 60-70’s design with a mechanical movement that had a column wheel, they did it and didn’t try to modernize too much. My opinion of course.

Greetings sir, very good review. I would like to comment on the following points: 1: The aesthetic of the watch is indeed nice, but i do see it as a mixture between modern and vintage Daytona. I would like to see the more vintage forward specs on it. 2: I didn't knew on the movement, seems like a proper quality and Seiko is always a brand to trust. Still, i would think that having either a fully Quartz movement would be the best option on this price point and having an accesible back panel, or if it was higher spec, a fully mechanical ETA or Valjoux movement would be the caliber that i would think of, still would take up the price of the timepiece very considerably. 3: I had heard a couple of bad comments on Pagani Design as a brand overall, however, i am not really sure what to expect on this one, its main competitor seems to be an Invicta Paul Newman homage which looks really nice. In my opinion, rolesor two - tone Datejusts and Heuer Steve McQueen Monaco along the Paul Newman, are the most attractive watch designs that i could ever think of. The Pagani Design seems like a proper timepiece for the price, however, i was waiting to see some reviews and seeing how the watch ages with other owners before pulling the trigger. I frankly am starting my laboral life and still some 100 US dollars for a watch seem like a considerable amount to spend on any object at all, however, i guess that it would definitely be a longer lasting and overall a timepiece that i would enjoy far more than other cheaper watches that definitely skip on materials. Hello Javier. If you like this model this is one of my favourite watches. You are right, it's a blend of modern and old, more like a 6263 Big Red than the better known 6239 panda exotic dial. If you like an affordable automatic version of this one you have the Alpha Daytona which is great with a Seagull ST1901 movement, which is fantastic. You are just starting your collecting journey, best of lucks!
Hi new to your channel yeah i payed roughly £52 uk pounds i was impressed by the dial for sure own a couple more pagàni watches. first thing i done was replace the bracelet( poor quality) With a Black real lizzard skin strap looks a million dollars champagne watch for lemonade money use it as a dress watch with a cuff shirt, my rule of thumb always source a quality strap even a nice leather rally strap $15 dollars can enhance a watch all the best from the UK.
Excellent review. I support your opinion on homage, copying watch designs that are no longer in production does really makes sense. PD has put forth a great attempt on this one, maybe they will fix the issues on the next version.

Bonjour ! Ça arrive assez souvent, même min Omega Speedmaster a ce problème ! Une solution que certains préconisent mais qui n'a pas fonctionné pour moi : tu mets la couronne en 2ème position et tu relances le chronographe et sa remise à zéro. Si ça t'embête trop tu peux toujours demander un remboursement. Bonne chance !
It's a great watch, one cannot ask for more for that price. Bracelet is just ok and the clasp is actually good. If there's some fancy brand on the dial, it would cost 500 usd or more.

I think the threaded, knurled crown is because from what I can see this is exactly the same as the PD-1644 “panda” chrono. Seems only the dial, lume and Crystal are different.
@@Horologique This may look like the 1644 but it is not even the same case and the 1644 does not have the knurled pushers, I still wonder why they didn't use the same style of pushers they have on the 1701 and a stainless steel bezel to complete the look.
I understand that this is an attractive homage and give it all the credit it is due. Sadly, I bristle at the use of a 24hr. subdial. Maybe I need therapy but I don’t want that on a chronograph. Good review. Last week’s chrono is a better watch. Cheers.

Protège-couronne 🤔, marquage contemporain de la lunette 🤔... j'hésite encore pour acheter ce modèle dont je préfère son blanc de cadran au crème de l'Alpha (dont j'ai déjà 2 "Dayto" + 1 "Speed" 🙄) LA Paul Newman de Paul Newman est une 6263 avec simples poussoirs, et il y a ensuite la Paul Newman 6265 avec poussoirs vissés 🤷 ... Paul Newman avait aussi une 6265, panda reverse si je me souviens bien, il laissait les poussoirs toujours devissés !
C'est vrai que c'est un drôle de mélange, et j'aurais préféré qu'ils aillent complètement Vintage, un hommage total de la 6241. Dans son état actuel elle est quand-même sympa
Very nice watch. However, after owning a few PD's, I decided to not get anymore until they improve their clasps. Of course they are still very good value for money but it costs me more to get a PD and then changing the strap.

Frankly we can forget about its little "flaws" given the price and the quality of the realization. As as the pushers and the crown are of a screwed down type, they could have pushed the water resistance to 200 meters. A detail that I don't like: for a vintage watch whose "inspiration" dates from the 70s, I can't stand the representation on the back of a car that isn't from that era. Indeed, it is more akin to a contemporary super car than to a competition car from the 70s. This is a major lack of taste, even if it is not the first thing you will notice. Nothing to say about the Seiko movement which is a wise choice to contain the price and offer a good quality of operation, moreover the very concept of this movement is highly interesting and therefore deserves a special attention. In my opinion it better watch than the PD1644 (cheaper, based on the same concept and with the same movement) whose 3 complication dials are difficult to read. Thank you for the video and may 2022 be a great year for your channels! PS: there is a trick to use the additional adjustment of the bracelet but it's a bit shi..y.
Good point about the car on the caseback. Jodi from Just One More Watch shows this caseback to be rather tinny. Let's hope Pagani are listening and produce a Mk 2 version with an ivory dial, proper lume and perhaps a vintage car on the reverse!
The srewdown pushers are for avoiding pressing them accidentally... Got mine today from Amazon. No disalignments at all. Perfect QC... The last PD I got was terrible, sent it back. That's why I buy them from Amazon for a few more EUR...
Two years later and mine is still working perfectly. The only negative is the lume. And it's a shame they didn't do a fake crocodile strap in the Newman style.

Then get yourself an alpha Paul Newman instead, that has a seagull mechanical chrono movement in it. But in favor of quartz is the fact that you can actually use it regularly as a chronograph, whereas all affordable mechanical chrono movements are inherently fragile and might fail with each push of a button

Looks like a great watch on its own, however I think that the bezel is a bit too big compared to the original that throws it off a bit

No, the screw-down pushers are for water resistance, just like a scre-down crown.
