Nate, you never cease to amaze me with your work ethic. You are a go get ur!! You just jump in with both feet and get it done. Really enjoy your videos of you restoring your farm house. It’s going to be a brand new house time you all get finished with the house. You and Katie should just move in it, and make it your home.

Nate, glad you found the video on removing those boards. Work smarter, not harder.... I remember the problems your found in the kitchen area. I know the corner of the kitchen had some issues you were reluctant to mess with back then. You are learning and growing as you move along with this renovation/rebuild....

Happy Easter everyone! Once again, your patience astounds me. But you're right, I'm so glad you won't be dealing with any of that mold after this, a blessing in disguise?
As my avatar shows the American & English flag, I'm a Brit in the US & sometimes get a little homesick. I found a vlog, "Off Grid Bruce" which is a Brit in Ireland. Listening to the british language is what helps with the homesickness. I recently started watching, but went back 2 years to see his family's story. It's lovely if you're looking for more homesteading. I'm sure it would help him too.

Nate, That is just so great that a viewer(s) pointed you in a direction of solving some of the hard work of removal of the tongue and groove flooring.
I also think it is great that you are finding the additional mold so it can be treated to make for you a better home that is healthy in the finished product of all this work.
Please, please continue to be safe in all the work you are doing. Exhaustion is real and you need to take time for yourself to recouperate and refresh yourself as none of your viewers want anything bad to happen to you.
Please keep your welfare to be most important for all of us and your family.
Happy Easter and God Bless you both always. ❤
Have an egg to celebrate Easter!!!🫶

Nate, we use a metal coffee can for a smoke pot. It helps with bugs. I just use some twigs and dry leaves, ignite and it makes it better when working outside. It only covers a small area but you can have more than 1 can going. Just have a burn barrel with twigs and leaves for larger work area. You probably knew this already.

hey Nate...as I was watching you removing those boards I remembered when you had to get rid of the mold in the basement, and was thinking that there will probably be mold remaining in-between the boards that were covered from the brace boards. and glad you had brought that up in your video. yes a lot of work but well worth it in the end. and being able to eliminate the rest of the mold in those boards. when its all done and you look back at the finished house you will be patting yourself on the back and have a good feeling of accomplishment. keep on keeping on! your getting closer to that finish line.... have a great rest of your day.😊

Just an idea to maybe help with the floor joists. UA-cam channel 'Cole the Cornstar' is remodeling and he has a video on 'sistering' saggy floor joists in a video titled 'Restoring A $7,000 Mansion: Dining Room Floor Rebuild' that may be helpful.

  • @lfuentes4098

Yay! So glad the new method is working out. It’s exactly how my dad did it when he helped me remove some flooring. Except we had some subfloor to help stabilize both us and the floor. I thought it was odd that the flooring was laid right on the joist. But last week I was at my dads house built in 1920. He and my husband were removing some water damaged flooring. And under the thin plywood underlayment for the linoleum there was this type of 1” tongue and groove. Straight on the joist. Which floored me. No tar paper or any other underlayment between it and the dirt crawl space. 😮
I have questions, are you going to lift this part of the house or lower it to match the other side? We’re you going to use jacks? Or just level the joists? With jacking it up, which my dad would say it’s the proper way, 😉 then you’d have to worry about the pipes. But I guess if you sister each joist at a level that would work too. It might not be too noticeable up at the ceiling because you have the cathedral ceiling in this area.

Nate, I haven't watched your channel in a while. I decided to watch today......and hallelujah you've had a haircut! I love it. Now I will be tuning in more often as I am curious as to how the "farm" is going. Not meaning to sound rude about your long hair. I just thought it would be unmanageable at times while working on the farm. Have a great day.

Good going on your tongue and groove floor removal! In looking at the large room I would love to see you make the master bedroom extend from the old bedroom all the way to the wall the fireplace was on. This would make the room long and narrow. This would be accomplished by putting the new wall for the bedroom where it was before in front of where the closet and chimney were. Reduce the size of the glass door to the porch to a single door. A new closet could be put on the common wall with the bathroom. This would still give you a big enough space for a small dining/living room.

Works coming along.i was wondering when you reframe your master you could gain more wall space if you put a regular door instead of the big slider door that you have on that far wall. Work looks good.
