Being retired for 20 years I have no need to rummage any more but I still like doing it and get a great deal of satisfaction from recycling. Well done.
Liking these videos. Shows us that woodwork can be accessible. Not everyone has pse black walnut scraps laying around like some wood work videos suggest 😂
Truly one of the best things I've watched in a long time. I can't agree more with the up cycling, there's tooo much waste. As a 40 year old it kills me to see so much waste. Not only are you reusing but you are extending and honing your skills.
Honestly Keith, there's just something about your channel that sets you apart from all the other great channels I follow. Found you back in the day from your 1st pallet shed build at the old house, and always look forward to your uploads. And you're a cat person which goes along way! Keep up the awesome work ❤️
I love your channel. It's a no pressure, relaxing good time. I also love your projects. A good way to think outside the box to keep trash down and repurpose things thrown away.
Yes CATS! xD I don't know why this is looked down? We recycle everything, metal, plastic, glass, and it's really important for the planet so I don't see why wood should be different.
Just curious, have you never heard about how trash recycling is a farce? The costs are too high and most of it goes to the landfill. Environmental impact very small, and actually may be a net negative because of the resources expended to process the trash
Brilliant use of reclaimed materials, makes such good sense to reuse rather than landfill. Baby Brown is a lucky boy that daddy can make what he needs, next mission is a go cart for him!! Stay safe
Glad I'm not the only one that sees others' "junk" as a source of useful material - picked up a square drain pipe for my AC pipework the other week 😁 Not to mention 3 fully working printers at a GP surgery and the kids' school - maximum pages printed 150 = ~£1 per page 🙄
Makes me miss my dad, we'd go junk hunting for all kinds of stuff. Drove my mom a bit mad, but we had tons of repaired/reclaimed stuff. It was so much fun!
I have collected a huge amount of wood over the years from bins, abandoned, or skips and most is in good condition and the rest look good onces painted. I haven't payed for wood in over 10 years, I have build sheds, storage units, shelfs, and got an entire huge shed for free.
I like this guy. Bins and skips are the best place to find stuff for household repairs. I got a lovely 1930s stained glass door for my living room, and an older Victorian front door with blue glass panels I installed in my kitchen
Im nowhere near as skilled as this man and neither do I have the power tools, however I have build a good amount of stuff at My allotment from scrap wood found in skips and other abandoned wood. One time I see a guy get a skip He I asked if there is anything He is getting rid of that I could use on a allotment and he said no. About 5 minutes later I see him put an entire shed im the skip, amd I was like "I thought you said there would be nothing I could use? I'll take all of your wood slabs and bricks". By the time I'd finished his skip was empty so learning from his mistake He has since just left any wood and slabs at the side of his house and I just take all of it.
Quality cat content again, YESSS! That oak chest of drawers was an especially great find and you’ve really done it proud. Also, I have to show my appreciation of the sync of the jazz, especially the part testing the plywood bits for the drawers. I’ve been watching your channel for years and it’s really great to see both your woodworking skills and video production style evolve 🙌
That little cabinet turned out great! It cleaned up so nicely. There was a house a road over from us clearing stuff out a few months ago, and I could see a small tv stand and a taller shelf sticking out of their skip but I didnt even go over for a look because we didn't have the space to store any of it. I'm in the middle of building a workshop now and I'd love to try fixing up some old furniture when I'm set up properly
That desk half was a good find! I've picked up two of those full desks, one from the road side, the other from gumtree - both in Norwich. It's an old school desk if I'm not mistaken, one previous owner was telling me about the school giving them away at some point. Lovely things these, great to see it getting the respect it deserves. Well done!
Big thumbs up for the Junk Hunt series of videos. Just goes to show what is possible to make with an open mind to what you will find, and a bit of creative thinking and making.
Thanks Keith, always fun to go on a junk hunt with you ! That small chest shows how easy it is to overlook something that is intrinsically sound ! The toddler step was an interesting idea, and the scrap boxes an ideal use of pallet wood, thanks for sharing !
I love these junk hunt videos. I, too, enjoy nabbing usable wood from curbs and dumpsters. I just brought home several 10' long rough sawn oak timbers, 3" x 4".
This last couple of weeks in my local suburbs ( Perth Australia), Has been our annual verge collection. I have been trawling the streets in my Utility looking for 'Treasure'. I put together a tool kit of hammer, saw, screwdrivers etc. I too made a few good finds. They are now in my storage pile for projects that come along. I have made a couple of the kiddie stools for friends. They are great to get the toddlers involved. Keep them coming Keith.
You made an excellent job of the drawer unit upscale and the raised platform was also a great idea and it will adapt with to baby Brown as he grows. All out of someone else's junk. Amazing!!
It's amazing what people throw away. I have a L200 pick up, and usually go for a drive around industrial estates when it's nice and dry, and surprising what you can pick up. Main thing is to always ask before taking.
Morning Keith, another Saturday morning with coffee in hand watching one of your videos ☕ thank you 👍🏻 My personal fave here is the firewood box, i too have stocked up for winter on logs, struggling to store kindling and odd sized logs. Building some of these will be perfect and free ⭐⭐⭐
Good hunting. I intercepted a solid wood kids cot when I was at the tip. I checked after i got it and they retail for €500!!!. I was going to chop it up for materials, but now it's doing great service in the garage containing the bales of pet bedding and feed. 😂
Been so looking forward to this video and it wasn't a disappointment. I'm sure it's one I'll certainly be coming back to and one I'll be recommending to my friends. Well done
Love the videos. Something to give a go (had it demonstrated at a trade show I went to). When using the pullsaw trying only applying pressure on the back stroke and almost but not quite lifting the saw off the material on the forward stroke. The cut is about 4x the speed with the pullsaws I have. Keep up the good work! kind regards Ben Martin
Love this!! So inspirational. I am always eying up discarded furniture and wondering what I can do with it. I am not yet very skilled, nor do I have all the tools, but this has given me an idea. I hope you will continue with these salvaged wood projects.
Somehow I have only just had the pleasure of coming across your channel. Sir, you are awesome and so are your videos! Thank you for all the great content, I am excited to watch your previous videos. Super informative, enjoyable to watch and very inspirational. Thank you :)
Hi Keith, Great finds, the things you can make from skips and any thing that no one wants. That little cabinet looks brilliant now it's got a second chance. As always a great video, Take care
Worked for a furniture store for thigh five years.Used to get loads of good stuff.Otherwise, Freecycle, Marketplace, etc.Trading estates, like you found.
Hi Keith, really love your reclaiming episodes. Especially the scenes while walking around as I live in Germany, but many good memories of living in GB. Also, as every time: Nice builds. I liked the toddler stand most -maybe add some vertical strips to front and side so "likkle Keif" won't fall out.
Great video, all the stuff turned out great! For the helping stool for Baby Brown, the only comment I would have is the stability of it if its not pushed right up against a worktop (like it is in your picture) When B.B. gets a bit older and starts moving it around on their own, it has the risk of tipping forward as they reach forward for things if its not supported. When we made something similar out of an Ikea step stool, we added legs that stuck out at the front to stop it from being able to topple forward. But maybe yours is more solid than ours was, just something to look out for!
These are always my favourite videos on your channel. I can believe that everyone assumes that wood is rubbish and chucks it out but good for people like you 👍 (and who says cats are unfriendly 🐈 🐈⬛)
great projects Keith, particularly like the kindling box project which has given me an idea to make my own, kindling is very awkward to keep stored so many thanks for the idea.
Great video! Now it looks like I have a little while to wait to see the next small saw review and see if it adds another option with the range of site saws that seem to be appearing offering good entry points well below the Dewalt go to with apparently equal features and build.
I am Dutch but live in the Belgium Ardennes. Here most people also burn wood to heat. But when i go to the Netherlands to family and so, i see loads of wood in containers ( that go on lorries). They just throw it away. Also because using wood to heat of for coziness it very discouraged by the government. But where i live it is okay. I can and do take some wood sometimes but not loads. The Dutch even have a "complain line" to call if you have a complain about somebody in your street heating with wood. From the old hay floor beams i made a 3,4m long workbench and soon i will make one from the 5,5m long beams, that i still have. I am more into metal working but with such video's i also learn working with wood.
Been so bored of UA-cam woodworking for a while, these junk hunt videos are great and far more interesting than the usual stuff
Thanks 👍
I love the junk hunt videos
I love making them so that's good! 👍
I love that you hunt for scrap wood from bins and utilize them. So many good things end up in the land fill.
Being retired for 20 years I have no need to rummage any more but I still like doing it and get a great deal of satisfaction from recycling. Well done.
Love your dedication to keeping ‘rubbish’ out of landfill. Your use of junk is uplifting and heartwarming and the results are so amazing.
Liking these videos. Shows us that woodwork can be accessible. Not everyone has pse black walnut scraps laying around like some wood work videos suggest 😂
Great finds and builds. Loving the jazz
Thank you buddy!
Truly one of the best things I've watched in a long time.

Wow, thanks!
Really love this!!! So satisfying to watch you turn some trash into treasure. I also enjoyed the smooth jazz while watching you work 🎶👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love your channel. It's a no pressure, relaxing good time. I also love your projects. A good way to think outside the box to keep trash down and repurpose things thrown away.
Thank you so much!
Yes CATS! xD I don't know why this is looked down? We recycle everything, metal, plastic, glass, and it's really important for the planet so I don't see why wood should be different.
Cats run their own 'Owner Recycling Scheme'
Just curious, have you never heard about how trash recycling is a farce? The costs are too high and most of it goes to the landfill. Environmental impact very small, and actually may be a net negative because of the resources expended to process the trash
@@brianharris7243 The humans call it "the Cat Distribution System"
Excellent projects from other people’s unwanted materials. The drawers came out especially good. Inspiring. 👍🏼
Thanks so much 😊
Brilliant use of reclaimed materials, makes such good sense to reuse rather than landfill. Baby Brown is a lucky boy that daddy can make what he needs, next mission is a go cart for him!! Stay safe
Well done..I love watching woodworking..❤❤

Thank you! Will do!
Makes me miss my dad, we'd go junk hunting for all kinds of stuff. Drove my mom a bit mad, but we had tons of repaired/reclaimed stuff. It was so much fun!
Just happened to come across this vid. Junking + woodworking + repurposing stuff meant for the trash = new subscriber! Great video!
I love these vids. Such great filming, it’s like proper telly.
Thank you
Always take a pallet if you have space in the car. It makes fantastic kindling. Steer clear of the coloured ones tho they are treated.
Loving this style of video, Keith - has a really satisfying narrative to it!

That 1st cabinet is fantastic. 👍👍
Thank you!
Good on you for taking what would otherwise end up in a landfill and giving it another life. Both the projects came out great.
Great video, loved all the projects, but specially that toddler stair. Baby brown looked like he was having some real fun up there!! Thank you Keith!!
These junk hunt videos are great fun to watch! Keep 'em coming! The oak drawer/dresser was a cool find, loved the finished product.

A true environmentalist, doing
something practically in daily life.
Good Job!

Great work Keith, that desk end was a real find. 👍👍
That little cabinet cleaned up so nicely, what a great find!
remembering back to your junk hunts at the channel beginnings...... nice to see up-cycling saving stuff from landfill.. 😀👍.. and the cool jazz....

I love these ones, seems to really add a freshness. You should get Matt to take you round his local area.

Bed slats are brilliant for replacing the slats on garden furniture. All our garden benches and chairs have been replaced by them 😀.
I'm making a shell unit from old bed wood.
Somehow I have only just had the pleasure of coming across your channel. Sir, you are awesome and so are your videos! Thank you for all the great content, I am excited to watch your previous videos. Super informative, enjoyable to watch and very inspirational. Thank you :)
Good stuff! You salvaged some interesting bits and your projects looked really interesting. Thank you.
Hi Keith, Great finds, the things you can make from skips and any thing that no one wants. That little cabinet looks brilliant now it's got a second chance. As always a great video, Take care
Fascinated by this channel. Want to build a hifi unit and vinyl rack with reclaimed wood, so trying to pick up as many tips as possible.
I could have watched this all day! Thanks
I'm pretty sure I once saw a film called "Junkhunts", or something very similar. It did involve wood.
These are my favourite videos. Thanks Keith, thoroughly enjoyed.
I'm so excited....I love junk.
I live in Texas and we call it a 'Drive by ' where you drive slowly by and eye the pile.😊😊
Great work Keith loved it,all that old timber being used would be great if you did more videos like this, have a nice day all !!! Brian UK !!!. 😀😀🙏👍.
Awesome creations! I love the idea of owning a genuine Brown junk hunt piece of furniture
That was impressive. I really like this series :) keep it comming!
This is the kind of video I like watching. Thank you. Looking forward to your next Junk Hunt.
You did a really good job restoring that cabinet
Thanks a lot!
Love these junk videos!
Worked for a furniture store for thigh five years.Used to get loads of good stuff.Otherwise, Freecycle, Marketplace, etc.Trading estates, like you found.

Wow, your work is wonderful.
Thank you very much!
I just picked up 20m2 solid beach flooring for 70,-
Also a great way for cheap wood!
These are always my favourite videos on your channel. I can believe that everyone assumes that wood is rubbish and chucks it out but good for people like you 👍 (and who says cats are unfriendly 🐈 🐈⬛)
Nice work Kieth. Love the mood music too!
Loving these vids Keith, I hope you keep the mini series going. Back to your roots!
Lovely job. Really enjoy these kind of videos. Thanks 👍🏼
Really enjoying these videos, back to your roots!
Three projects in one video, I kept getting surprised with each new one!
Lovely little film that, thank you.
brilliant video Keith. Really inspiring. Thank you.
Love these videos! Just an FYI, I've bought the same stripper from home bargains too for those in the UK. It works really well on metal aswell! 👍🏻
Nothing like watching a bin diving sesh on YT!
Really enjoyed watching this vid good to see you going back to your roots
Thank you!
PRECIOSO RESULTADO... USTED ES GENIAL 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Great video Kieth, really enjoying this new series!
Cracking video, like the old days restoring someone's else rubbish into a nice piece of furniture
Good video and tremendous intentions. 😊😊😊
Keep these coming, Keith! This style of video seems to suit you and your channel very well
Thanks, will do!
😅WOW,🎉that was awesome!! Just to know you could make extra money by just taking junk home and making amazing pieces! What a gift!🎉
great projects Keith, particularly like the kindling box project which has given me an idea to make my own, kindling is very awkward to keep stored so many thanks for the idea.
Baby Brown is getting bigger.
You had a good haul. 👍

Love that oak chest of drawers.
Love a good junk hunt. I've fixed up so many mismatched dining chairs from them lol
Keep up the great work. I don't have the space or means to have that kind of workspace, so I'll live vicariously through you ;)
Great work! I’m a new subscriber from America.

👍👍👍. Thank you Keith
Baby Brown looks like he loves his climbing stool, great projects.
Great stuff!
