To be honest, I felt that the microphone quality of the built in microphone was wayyy better than the boom mic. What's up with that?🤨 Also I feel the arctis 3 Bluetooth is a much better value as it provides the same features. Only problem with that headset is the limited adjustability for bigger heads, and the propeirtory cable though it is removable.
That built in mic is quite good for a wireless headset, but it's picking up a lot of noise from the environment. It's hard to avoid that when the mic is placed that far from the mouth. The sensitivity has to be cranked up and that means it will pick up a lot of noise from things like the keyboard, fans or screaming kids running around the house. The boom microphone has an advantage there as it can be both directional and less sensitive as it is closer to and more or less in front of your mouth. If they could make the boom mic work in wireless mode you could have it all. The boom microphone would be good for gaming and when you want the best possible isolation of the voice, and the built in mic would be good for the occasional telephone call when when you don't want to have that boom mic in your face all the time. Probably not going to happen, and I probably wouldn't buy them anyway, so...
I think it's modded for the ps4 circuitry..not lot of condensed noise when using it though the ps4. It's almost identical to the cloud 40 ohm ps4 pair.
It seems not very many of the commenters have actually tried this product. I have! In fact I recently returned the Arctis Pro Wireless (awful background hiss & weak bass) in favour of the Hyper X Cloud Mix. Its my first Hyper X headset, whereas I've tried the best from LucidSound, Astro, Turtle Beach, Razer and even the Audeze Mobius - which is fantastic aside from some technical issues. But I must say I'm now a fan of Hyper X. Finding a headset which ticks every box is seemingly impossible; only a wireless dongle option stands in the way of the Hyper X Cloud Mix being almost perfection. The audio is superb, with a really fun bass, excellent clarity and no interference (unlike Steelseries!). The BT is almost indistinguishable from using it wired and is very loud. Note that on PS4, as with all gaming headsets, volume is restricted. On Xbox you need to turn it down. I sync mine to my TV & it's fantastic for gaming & movies. Great build quality and versatility. And most of all the audio is a cut above in terms of balance. I paid £180 & don't hesitate in saying they're worth that price when I consider I paid almost £300 for the disappointing Pro Wireless - which is supposedly the best. They aren't! Only way I part with these is if the Hyper X Cloud Orbit are even better, but without BT I would find it hard to sacrifice their flexibility for 3D audio. The 3D audio which I used with the Mobius (same as the Orbit) is impressive mind.

I think this is for gamers who just want that one headset for both gaming and for listening to music on the go. The sound quality on the HyperX Cloud II is superb, on par with the best bluetooth headsets. With this headset you get it all. Great sound, microphone for gaming, and a decent-looking over-the-ear for the bus and just listening to music and answering calls. For those cases I don't think the price is too far off. If they also included decent active noise cancelling they could probably raise the price and compete with Sony/Bose.

8:00 id like to point out a correction the gooseneck mic DOES in fact work with bluetooth and you have the option of using it or the internal mic when using it over bluetooth. If the gooseneck is plugged in that is whats used, if you unplug it the mic reverts to the internal unit.
hi, since you seem to own one, how exactly do you activate the mic in wired mode? No mic gets recognize in wired mode when I use mine, no matter if the boom mic is plugged in or not.
the V-Moda BoomPro sound quality is incredible! it's even beating ModMic in every aspect! If they just make ModMic can be plugged directly to the ditchable mic port of any headset that have ditchable mic! Cooler Master MH630 is the King of Headsets of 2020! I have HyperX Cloud Mix, I love it! but after suffering from the low mic audio for a long time I found it comes with a defect mic! so whom suffering from this issue it's a mic defect you should replace the mic under the warranty before it ends like what happened to me!.
I think for the money I will go with a pair of the Audio-Technica M50x BT, the Bluetooth version, and a Vmoda BoomPro mic. The retail on the cans alone is $200 as well, so there would be a $30 or so premium to add the BoomPro but for such a an audio quality focused setup, I think it's worth it. Also sometimes the M50x BTs do go on sale for about $170 occasionally.
I've been an "audiophile" stereo headphone snob for ages, but I think it's high time I try a gaming headset. *edit* I realise I'm not going to gain anything from the change. I'm just thinking, maybe I should be less of a snob and try out some of the lesser gaming brethren.
I really miss my hyperx clouds. I switched to sennheiser 558's when i broke them on a flight and the audio quality is a fair bit better although i only push its abilities when listening to music using my soundcard's mixer settings. I turn it all off for gaming/watching videos anyway, and the hyperx cloud's were way more comfortable, and the noise cancelling was way more immersive.
@@christopherbeltran5020 That may be true, but most of the time, especially when you already own good headphones or audio is your main focus, headphones and external mic is a better option. Headsets are great, especially because they offer everything with a single cable or even wirelessly, but if you pay $200 for a headset you can also get good $150 headphones and a $50 mod mic. If you think about streaming or recording then an external mic will be next to none, so you could save the money spend for the headset mic and just buy either cheaper headphones that sound the same or for the same price buy some that sound better. I hope I managed to convey my take on headphones v headsets.
I ordered these because my tablets and phones have no headphone jacks. They cost around 120usd here in the Philippines right now so it's worth it as of June 2022.
With that price point your better off getting studio grade headphones from the likes of AudioTechnica or Sennheiser along with a mod mic. I appreciate what there trying to do but the price is a little steep for what you get.
Would you recommend this headset for travel and gaming? I travel a lot and I've just started gaming. My old headphones were beats and had no mic so i wanted a comfortable headset that was also compatible with the phone.
One very important thing you did not mention is whether or not the headset switches it's Bluetooth connection protocol to a handsfree one when using the built in mic wirelessly, which if it does, utterly destroys the sound quality. This is what happens to me if I try using the mic of my sennheiser pxc 550s and it's something really important to keep in mind.
Long time fan of your channel guys, top notch reviews! However... in this one I feel you missed the entire point of the product. These headsets, including the Arctis 3 Bluetooth, shouldn't really be compared to other regular gaming headsets as they have /two/ major use-cases; first one is the "obvious" one, for switch owners wanting to use a secondary device (mobile/PC) for voice while getting game audio from the wired connection. My use-case however is different, and a reason why I was looking at this one as well as the Arctis 3 Bluetooth (as well as the very expensive Arctis Pro): I wanted a good pair of wireless headphones for music on the go/while travelling, as well as in front of my computer, additionally I want a decent gaming headset. Why buy two (for guaranteed a larger price tag) when there's no technical limitation nor reason for not combining bluetooth for music on the go and wired connectivity for gaming? Especially since in my case I don't even have a need to combine audio-streams (compared to the Switch users). Ultimately I ended up with the Plantronics BackBeats Pro 2 (which according to rtings seems to have some really nice audio combined with a good battery and some ANC), which I'm planning on combining with the V-moda BoomPro for the gaming use. Net sum seems to be similar to the Cloud Mix, and while higher than the Arctis 3 Bluetooth, I will definitely have better battery life, likely better sound as well as less hassle with proprietary sound connections on the headset (and aptx LL which could be used for games when mic is not needed). In any case, as mentioned, I feel you missed the entire point of the product in this review, and while I didn't opt for this product for my use-case in the end, it was one of very few options I had (and a very viable one at that).
The cloud mix are good gaming headphones THAT CAN ALSO be used as wireless headphones. The mic it uses when in wireless is the built in one, not the boom arm. When gaming it has to be plugged in with the in line cablefor the boom mic to be used, so wireless is a waste because lack of microphone quality. Good (gaming)headphones but unless you want a wireless option as well just get the Alpha’s and save 100$ they’re the exact same minus the Bluetooth.
I'm still using my HyperX Cloud. As long as it's not broken, I won't change it, and certainly not for this one. If it did, I think I'd go with the HS70, by Corsair.
Hey Eber are those the AKG K7XX on your desk? How do they sound compared to those? cause you know the price tag is actually the same I think I would consider an open back. I know the hyperX products are awesome I preordered the Cloud II back in the days but for 200$ I would go open back.
Hey HardwareCanucks, do you plan to do another (headphone) amp/dac roundup? whats best, whats worth it, something of the sort? Your last one now a year old.

I find that, at least for console use, the best wired solution is a pair of decent ohm Sennheisers powered by the Creative G6 DAC on high gain. Wireless combo would probably go to arctis pro, unless game Zero produces a wireless option too. Of course these alternatives are both $300+
Eber, please always include cherryMX blue/red sound test when you try out the microphone of a gaming headset cause i believe cherryMX is the most common switch that people use nowaday.
I picked up a pair of these a few weeks ago, mostly because the Sennheisers I wanted were out of stock at my BestBuy. I have been having problems with the microphone picking up output audio the entire time. It actually picks it up even when I unplug the mic from the headset. Makes me think there is something wrong with the wiring.

I realized I was no longer subscribed to you guys. Seems UA-cam unsubscribed me from your channel in which I just resubscribed again. Weird.
Looks great but insanely overpriced. For the same price you can buy the HyperX Cloud Alpha and some decent Bluetooth headphones with the same if not better audio quality and battery life.
I purchased this headset 5 days ago and it never came from the mail yet. Usually amazon is 2 to 3 days of wait. I honestly don't know if itll even come. Today was the due date. I feel like the Corona has something to do with this.
I keep reading that these have smaller ear cups than the usual Hyperx headsets. Are these still around ear headphones or on ear headphones? And is the depth the same as any other Hyperx Cloud heaset? Thanks!
A great review, but leather earcups are a strong NO GO with me. My ears starting to get hot faster, and it will start to hurt inside my ears. Also when it gets hot the leather will be sticky and stick to the skin.
The cloud mix is available in my country rn for 140. I bought the cloud 2 wireless first but i didn' t like that i was limited to only using it on my pc. Would the cloud mix would be a good option. (would the cloud mix' s audio be better than the cloud 2 wireless? considering it uses the cloud alpha design) Or should I just ditch the wireless and bluetooth idea and go for regular cloud alpha
It is showing fucking INR 34,999(USD 490) on Amazon . in . That's a big problem for these kind of PC components or Electronic things. We have to find it offline in some Big Electronic markets or import it from US.
So I got this to test it out a couple months ago - it’s a WIRED gaming headset, and WIRELESS Bluetooth music headphone You can’t use Bluetooth to use for voice which is unfortunate
misconception, you CAN use it for voice and gaming it just sounds like a bag of shit because you must use the protocol for "hands free" and not the "stereo" however there is no noticeable lag in that mode and you have the option of which mic you want to use lol

I have HyperX Cloud Mix, I love it! but after suffering from the low mic
audio for a long time I found it comes with a defect mic! so whom
suffering from this issue it's a mic defect you should replace the mic
under the warranty before it ends like what happened to me!.
This is a good headset just priced wrong but Black Friday sales took $50 off so I’m gonna cop this
Which one do you prefer if price didn't matter? Arctis 7, Cloud Mix, or Arctis 1 Wireless?
just bought it for $136 on amazon cant wait to use them
Me too. Got them the moment they were on sale.
I've been an "audiophile" stereo headphone snob for ages, but I think it's high time I try a gaming headset.
*edit* I realise I'm not going to gain anything from the change. I'm just thinking, maybe I should be less of a snob and try out some of the lesser gaming brethren.
You should probably stick to the audiophile stuff, gaming headsets are usually not worth it.
Olsson really? The t pro headset is only 90 dollars and its fantastic for the price
@@CookieAsArrow A-freaking-men for ModMic
I ordered these because my tablets and phones have no headphone jacks. They cost around 120usd here in the Philippines right now so it's worth it as of June 2022.
With that price point your better off getting studio grade headphones from the likes of AudioTechnica or Sennheiser along with a mod mic. I appreciate what there trying to do but the price is a little steep for what you get.
you get shit sennheisers
Would you recommend this headset for travel and gaming? I travel a lot and I've just started gaming. My old headphones were beats and had no mic so i wanted a comfortable headset that was also compatible with the phone.
Great review as always!!!
these are currently on sale for $120 for hyperx's 20th anniversary and im still debating on getting these
Is Eber losing weight, or is it the Thermaltake jacket just that slimming?
yay another gaming headset video
One very important thing you did not mention is whether or not the headset switches it's Bluetooth connection protocol to a handsfree one when using the built in mic wirelessly, which if it does, utterly destroys the sound quality. This is what happens to me if I try using the mic of my sennheiser pxc 550s and it's something really important to keep in mind.
Nothing's to say, good explanation, keep going bro
You can get an open box of these for 70 or less USD on Amazon.
Great review, thanks.
They are on sale right now on the cloud website, can grab them for $150.00 instead of amazon which as them at $200.00.
Dear Linus Tech Tips. This is how you do attention grabbing, classy thumbnails.
nice review!!
The setup looks good man
Currently the Cloud Mix is on sale for £140, would you recommend this or something like an Arctis 9X?
6:54 mic test
I'm still using my HyperX Cloud. As long as it's not broken, I won't change it, and certainly not for this one. If it did, I think I'd go with the HS70, by Corsair.
Pixel_Vengeur go for sennheiser, thank me later.
If the Game One or the GSP600 ever get lower than 100 €, sure, why not. I'm not an audiophile, I just want a good wireless headset with a decent mic.
You didn't make the wireless vs wired comparison. :(
I’m also lost on the pricing. I wonder how companies research and determine their prices at times. ???
Fantastic headset. Sounds great with Dolby Atmos.
Hey Eber are those the AKG K7XX on your desk? How do they sound compared to those? cause you know the price tag is actually the same I think I would consider an open back. I know the hyperX products are awesome I preordered the Cloud II back in the days but for 200$ I would go open back.
Love the K7xx. Easily the best for indoor listening
Is it connected with Bluetooth, that's clear. But the Bluetooth's base is included in the pack? Or should we buy that separately?
Hi love the vids keep up the good work
Great review. Btw your voice is so relaxing 👍
Hey HardwareCanucks, do you plan to do another (headphone) amp/dac roundup? whats best, whats worth it, something of the sort? Your last one now a year old.
why are u uploading I was trying to do my homework lol
I was trying to study for a chemistry exam tomorrow. Welcome to productivity hell
Wow my exams got over just yesterday lol
@@ashutoshsu480 My exam phase just started last week. I will have at least one every week for the next three months.... The worst ones are right at the beginning though. Literature, Politics, Math and Chemistry
Its 160$ on amazon atm is it worth it? Wanted to use it for gym but i was thinking if it gets soaked i'll have to replace the cups everytime
Skits late but earphones 100% for gym AirPods on sale get this if u still need 70$ sale on amazon
I find that, at least for console use, the best wired solution is a pair of decent ohm Sennheisers powered by the Creative G6 DAC on high gain. Wireless combo would probably go to arctis pro, unless game Zero produces a wireless option too. Of course these alternatives are both $300+
Just get fiio btrk3 and use your favourite headphones.
5:27 wow hyperx cloud on sale? For real?!
_Bud make a video about Folding Device_
NO FOLD
Finally, a headphone for Windows Mixed Reality.
thank you for the very good review. im in the market for gaming headsets both wire and wireless would be nice, okay mic but im lost there is so many of them i don't know what to pick lol.....
Do some Plantronic Rig series Headsets, They come with an Dolby Atmos code as well. Lots lots of bang for buck.
Super comfy as well. Rig 400 crazy light.
Hi, Just wondering if you noticed any difference in sound quality when using Bluetooth wireless vs corded?
Is the cloud flight clamping force waaaay stronger than the mix? I got a flight and it seems horrible compared to wired headsets I tried at Best Buy... what’s the deal there...
Nice to see you still rocking the Pixel 2, I just bought mine for $160 with a smashed screen and replaced it for $105 :) plus a screen protector and adhesive. I only spent $275 total on it :D
you became fit bro, keep it up!
The quality of the on board mic is too good to be true
Off topic but I just finished watching JayzTwoCents' latest video "Fractal Design Meshify S2 Review" and he mentioned HardwareCanucks and I thought to myself I haven't heard from them in a while.
Beerus Sama obviously
i mean i was more impressed with the mic u guys used honestly... what is it??
Hello!! Sorry it's probably out of context but where can I buy the jacket you're wearing in the video ? lol thanks in advance!
It's Thermaltake brand Jacket so proly exclusive
Headphones jacks are awesome!
Just the leather ear cushions? No velour ones in the box?
Help me, i want to know, which is better for bass, HyperX Cloud flight or HyperX Cloud MIX. Help me.
Why tf is the inline mic better than the boom mic?
It is showing fucking INR 34,999(USD 490) on Amazon . in .
That's a big problem for these kind of PC components or Electronic things.
We have to find it offline in some Big Electronic markets or import it from US.
Is it available for sale now?
So I got this to test it out a couple months ago - it’s a WIRED gaming headset, and WIRELESS Bluetooth music headphone
You can’t use Bluetooth to use for voice which is unfortunate
misconception, you CAN use it for voice and gaming it just sounds like a bag of shit because you must use the protocol for "hands free" and not the "stereo" however there is no noticeable lag in that mode and you have the option of which mic you want to use lol
Honestly the micro b kills it for me. I probably would've bought one if it was type c
Waiting for Orbit S
They are actually one of the rarest headset from hyper x that are certified high Res audio how can u not notice any difference in sound with older products like the cloud alpha?
Ads talk about rgb and nothing about the noise or some tech. Info for airflow or pressure... i have the ring led ones and theyre amazing
