In the Dakota’s we have scarlet milkshakes. I have been told they do bite, so I wouldn’t be real eager to hold one.
Man I've been eyeing the Tangerine Honduram Milksnakes. But, the Albino Tricolour Honduran has got my attention... stunning 😍
Can you do a video on milk snakes vs coral snakes
To me they both have a strong feeding response
Yup
Great video and very informative! I have a baby Mexican black king snake snake and an apricot pueblan milk snake ( baby as well) and they are great snakes to have 👍btw gorgeous Honduran 😍
Thanks! I really like pueblan milks too
@@JzsReptiles No problem brother 😎
Lampropeltis is Greek, not Latin. I dabble in both languages and have taught myself the Greek alphabet. "lampros" is Greek for "shiny" and "peltis" is a shield. Ancient Greek warriors were called "peltasts" because of their oval shields. I have a California kingsnake which -unlike most -has white lines rather than rings. I call him "Linea" which is Latin for "line" because of this. I just purchased a milk snake from Petco today. I think he (or she?) is a New Mexico or Central Pacific from the videos I have watched so far -not sure. He's still quite skittish as he came off the transport truck less than1/2 hour before I got him, so I won't handle him for a few days.
Nice info!
I'm totally thinking about getting a Honduran, from the same breeder I'm hoping to get a rosy boa from. I'm just a little nervous because everyone says they are so bitey and I absolutely hate getting bit by snakes. 😆
They’re very food responsive, so usually other than initial confusion they’re pretty good. Young snakes of most species am be a bit nippy though
Ive been looking into getting a snake soon thinking a milk snake nerd is a couple hour drive for me been on the tour a few times
It’s been a few years since I’ve been out there, and they do breed some pretty cool Nelson’s and Hondurans if I remember correctly
Nice video. She a pretty girl.
Have a question. If you have an extreme high white with banding kingsnake and another high white with no white besides his head. What do you type of patterns do you think you would get from that pair?
To be completely honest, not sure. I believe it’s a polygenic trait, so it would be a roll of the dice. From them I would get maybe 1/4 high white 3/4 normal coloration but if I’m correct in thinking it’s nothing proven genetic, sky’s the limit. Not sure if that was helpful at all but I hope it was something
They all are, I love them. Corns esp!❤
It would be really hard to say what you could get. Could get HW albino or HW strip and even ink dot high white along with your normals . Good luck to you
Are milk snakes and Mexican black king snakes bigger than corn?
MBKs about the same but it depends on the other species. Some stay under 3 ft and others get more than 6
Hello
If it were up to me I’d change milk snake to kingsnake I just think it ruins its mojo, I’d also change children’s python name and keep corn snake as red rat snake
I thought Kings were bigger than Milks.
depends on the species. Blacks and Hondurans get big and Brooks/Floridas do too
but say a scarlet king is tiny
Dont like to show bites? Its part of the keeping at times
Correct, but many people do it just for views and it doesn’t look good outside of the hobby so why not avoid in select parts of presentation and information. Poop happens too but why show it?
Cool to see more black people getting into snakes.
Racist
Um...whet?...is this really a thing?... inappropriate..
nothing wrong with his comment, it's true, pet reptiles have been far too long a thing for "crazy white people".......I'm also loving seeing all the different ethnicities and cultures taking great pride in the reptile hobby. God bless all ppl.
Stop trying to make everything racist.
@@Idk56214no, your the one starting crap
@@holliemmx88no, just being real.
I think the biggest difference between King and Milk snakes is that, Kingsnakes will eat the Milksnakes
Oh, milks will cannibalize too
I have a grey banded king snake i wouldnt trust with a black milk snake..... the grey banded is a pet not a snack
Milksnakes are a type of kingsnake...
Yes. Asterisk. That’s kinda what I get at
@Jz's Reptiles how old is your milksnake btw? :)
