    Hi folks, here's the pickling recipe that I used: You can scale it up or down accordingly to the volume/jar size you have;
    2 cups of Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 dessert spoon of powdered mustard (optional), 11 Dessert Spoons of Raw Sugar, 1 Dessert Spoon of Salt (flat not heaped), 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper, finely chopped fresh chilli to taste (optional). Add all ingredients to a saucepan, put on a very low heat and warm enough to disolve the sugar - stir continually. Pack your jar full of Garlic Scapes/Flowers, trimming down as necessary and the pour warm liquid over the top to fill the jar as inch or so from the top and making sure the flowers are completely covered.
    Ours are still good a whole year later, using a Kilner clip down jar with a good seal. 💚✌🌿

    I harvested my elephant garlic scapes over the weekend and used it for a stir fry. Yum!

    Fantastic little video. Is there a recipe you follow for the pickled garlic scapes or do you literally put them in a jar of apple cider vinegar?

    Dice them up very fine & simmer them in a little milk (or you could also lightly fry them),then mix into mashed potaotes as you would normally make them. A slight alternative version of what we call Champ in Ireland. On another note do you grow lemongrass & if so when / how do you start it?

      HI Chris, Thanks for sharing your ideas 👍🙏
      I haven't grown Lemon grass yet (in the UK) I have been meaning to actually, to the point I bought seeds a few years ago and never got around to sowing them!!! I think maybe this was because they have a funny sowing time, maybe a winter sow (don't quote me on that, just going from a vague memory) I recall their being a reason I kept missing the window though! I grew it in NZ and once established it used to over Winter in my little polytunnel there... I think in the UK, it would need to be bought into a frost free place for the winter... I must look into growing it again as i LOVE Lemongrass - thanks for the reminder ✌️🌿
